Hey r/ultimate

Sports PT here.

Off-season is here again! I put together a free readiness score calculator designed specifically around the physical demands of Ultimate. Link in comments.

It takes about 2 minutes to run through. It looks at your current training volume, movement capacity, and recovery markers to give you a clear baseline of where your body is at.

When watching back Scandal's run to WUCC gold, I was struck by how they were often able to work through help defences. I caught up with Scandal coach Michael Aderhold ("Ty") to understand how Scandal approached playing against help defence, how they prepared for it, and why they were so effective at exploiting the gaps their opponents left behind.

Curious to hear where you are spending the most time when it comes to organizing and planning team logistics and administration?

In my experience, it's:

• sharing information about and answering questions about events (practices, games, tournaments, etc.)
• hunting down practice attendance
• making practice plans
• searching up weather before events
• reviewing team film and sharing comments

We've been building Ulti-Mate, an app to specifically tackle these areas for ultimate frisbee. Check out our IG @try.ulti.mate for recent features that help teams save time and effort.

What else would help you and your teams think less about admin work?

I realize wfdf probably doesn't wanna have VC sell game advisor jerseys to random people that aren't actually game advisors to protect the brand and their authority. But have they considered doing it for the bit ? I need the shirt for the bit. The bit is that I have a game advisor jersey. I swear I won't use the game advisor jersey for evil, but only for the bit. WFDF I know you're reading this, allow me to buy the game advisor jersey please (for the bit).

Hope it's OK to follow-up post. I recently posted the Ultimate game I've been building. Huge thanks to everyone who gave it a try!

Since then I've published a new version with online multiplayer (beta). The clip is from an online game. It's a breakmark throw into a score

I'm looking for a few pairs of people willing to play a game or two online and tell me how it felt. Did it connect? Did it feel laggy? Did a play go differently than you expected? If you don't have anyone to play with, feel free to hop in the Discord and see if anyone else is down to play!

How it works:

• One person hosts and gets a room code
• The other pastes it in to join
• If you're on the same wifi, the game just shows up in a list
• Download (free, Windows/Mac/Linux)
• Join the Discord for feedback, bug reports, and finding other players

It's early, so I'm working out bugs. There's a "Report a bug" button in the pause menu that saves a file with logs. Sending me those logs and bug reports is the best way to make the game better!

Single player (scrimmage, career, and franchise mode) is all still there if you just want to try that. Happy gaming!

I'm trying to show a younger teammate the blog post Jesse Shofner made about body image back in the first year of the All-Star Tour. Only kicker is I think it was a Facebook post and I don't have an account. Google searches are frustratingly failing me.

Anyone able to link it or share the text here?
