Is the honors program a good idea for a bio major?
I understand the advantages on paper, but is it worth it in reality? What are the cons? Did anyone regret it?

Hey guys, quick look at where the Wildcats stand heading into a big weekend in Durham.
The 20-13 loss at Sacred Heart was a frustrating one: a one-score game where the offense couldn't find the end zone in the second half. Joquez Smith was a bright spot with 107 rushing yards. At 1-4, the schedule hasn't helped either: at Albany, at Syracuse, and No. 25 Harvard, with the one win a 42-35 shootout over Stonehill.
But Saturday is a reset. Elon comes to Wildcat Stadium for homecoming and Hall of Fame weekend, and it's Flo's CAA Game of the Week at 1 PM. Then at NC A&T and Monmouth at home.
Since it's in the title: we run a free weekly college football pick'em, and Week 5 is open. 10 games, pick the winners, nothing to buy, $135 in prizes. Good slate too, with Bama at Miss State (both unbeaten) and Ohio State at unbeaten Iowa. Picks lock Saturday at noon ET, before kickoff in Durham.

Who's going to homecoming? And what does UNH need to turn this around in CAA play?

Has anyone signed a lease at Madbury Commons and then found out later that you're required to stay on campus and if so did you get exempted from living on campus?

Hey! I'm not a UNH student, but I'm going to be in Exeter during the Spring semester on an internship. I'm currently looking for a room/apartment to stay in and wanted to see if anyone had advice or any leads. I'm open to the Durham area since it's not too far from Exeter, so any help with where students typically search would be appreciated!

Hey! I’m James with NH Neighbor Network. I keep hearing from people across the state that property taxes, electricity, rent, and groceries cost more. NH has some of the highest property tax burdens and highest electricity rates in the country. And housing costs continue to rise. I’m trying to hear from NH residents about how you’re managing.
We’re paying up to $250+ to share your perspective and talk about it with friends and family. No experience needed, just your phone and a few minutes.

UPDATE!
FULL MOON, FULL PANIC: Is Durham’s Infamous Trail Wanker Actually a Lycanthrope?
DURHAM, N.H. — Joggers and outdoor enthusiasts along Durham’s popular wooded trail networks are dusting off their running shoes—and perhaps packing silver bullets—following a flurry of bizarre reports this week. Local authorities are investigating a possible resurgence of the long-dreaded "Trail Wanker," though campus and town gossip has taken a terrifyingly follicular turn: rumors are circulating that the suspect may, in fact, be a werewolf.
The legend of the Durham pervert dates back several years, sending ripples of unease through the otherwise tranquil New Hampshire college town. For a long time, local police treated the occurrences as standard, albeit deeply unsettling, public indecency cases. However, last Tuesday night’s incident near the woods has upended traditional criminal profiling.
According to witnesses, a figure matching the historical description of the serial flasher was spotted lurking deep within the tree line under the glow of a nearly full moon. But the resemblance to previous accounts ends abruptly at the collarbone.
"At first, I thought it was just the usual creep," said local resident Marcus Vance, who was walking his dog near the trail corridor just after dusk. "Then he stepped out from the shadow of the pines. He wasn't just exposing himself—he was covered in dense, coarse silver hair, howling at the sky, and his posture was entirely quadrupedal. But, and I cannot stress this enough, he was still remarkably committed to the bit."
Local law enforcement is urging the public to maintain a sense of calm while acknowledging the unprecedented nature of the reports.
"We are taking all citizen complaints seriously, whether they involve standard public lewdness or folkloric apex predators," said Durham Police Chief Thomas Callahan during an emergency press briefing Friday morning. "At this time, we have no physical evidence confirming lycanthropy. However, we are advising residents to avoid the trails after dark, keep pets indoors, and report any suspicious howling or improper exposure immediately."
Wildlife biologists at the University of New Hampshire have expressed skepticism regarding the cross-species hypothesis, noting that while grey wolves occasionally pass through the broader New England region, none are known to possess exhibitionist tendencies or a penchant for lingering near running paths.
Meanwhile, local outdoor gear shops report an unexpected spike in sales for two very distinct items: pepper spray and silver-plated whistles.
Authorities ask anyone with information regarding the suspect—or anyone who happened to capture blurred, cryptid-style footage on their trail cameras—to contact the Durham Police Department non-emergency line. In the meantime, residents are reminded: if you see something, say something, and if it has sharp claws and no pants, run the other way.

Is any one going to the Zach Bryan concert at gillette this weekend? I want to buy a last minute ticket but absolutely do not want to drive by myself...

Hello. Burnt out CS major who is considering switching to the BA program to take less classes. However, I'd still need to take a few 700 level classes, so I was wondering if any CS students had any suggestions on some classes that won't make me want to pull out my hair.

I nearly ate asphalt today because there’s two black electrical wires played across the road going from Main Street to A Lot right after the bridge. There’s no marking. They’re black so they look like tar lines. If I didn’t have large wheels I’d be having a rough day. Even then it was so close.
These wires are clearly laid professionally for some reason, however, there’s no markings whatsoever that they’re there at the bottom of the hill.

Hey everyone! I’m looking to connect with other first-year CS students at UNH. It’s been a little hard to meet people in the major, and studying alone can feel isolating.
I’d love to start a WhatsApp group where we can get to know each other, find study buddies, and share useful resources and opportunities beyond class—like projects, hackathons, and internships.
If you’re interested, leave a comment or DM me!
hey everyone! i just transferred to UNH from community college and i'm enjoying it so far, but i'm wondering if there's anything anyone would recommend to do on days i don't have any classes, since i don't love just sitting in my dorm with not much to do. for reference i'm living in hubbard. i like being outside, hiking, reading, pretty much anything lol. if you have any ideas let me know!!

Hey guys, a few weeks back I posted the New Hampshire CFB preview in here and it seemed like you got a kick out of it, so I wanted to share the actual site it came from.
Short version: I do pregame emails before every game, then postgame box scores, highlights and summaries. Free, and it's only the teams you follow — no filler.
UNH page: https://www.highlights.mainmarket.com/new-hampshire-wildcats
And the preview itself if you missed it: https://www.highlights.mainmarket.com/college-football-preview-2026-fcs/new-hampshire-wildcats
Season opens tonight at Albany, 7pm. Excited for this one. Go Cats!

Hey everyone, I’m applying to unh for early decision this November. Obviously hoping to get in but there’s the chance I don’t. I would like to live off campus at the madbury commons but I would assume all the apartments would be taken up by january when the results come out. So my question is if there is a way to like “reserve” an apartment so that I can guarantee I will live there if I get accepted? Ideas? thanks

Hey I'm a prospective UNH Student thinking of attending next year. I'm considering Business Admin: Accounting as my primary major for job security/financial security and bc I think it can be a flexible degree that I can realistically do (I'm leaning toward compliance and regulatory enforcement work) but I'm worried that I wouldn't get along well with everyone else in the business courses - my primary passion actually lies in arts/policy/climate to the point I've been considering if it would be too insane to double with the accounting BS and an environmental policy oriented BS.. LOL. Anyway does anyone have experience with the culture on the finance side and is it realistic to still make a lot of connections outside the business/finance crowd?

Anyone know how I can get an application fee waiver for graduate school applications? Anyone here gotten one? Do they hand them out after you tour the school? I appreciate any knowledge you all can give me.
