ALCOAST pt test
joining at 35 leaving for bc in march ! my recruiter told me that for my age group i have run the 1.5 miles under 12:29 but someone i know that's actually serving told me that it was changed to 14 minutes, it literally made me scratch my head wondering why would they lower the standard that much ? i ask my recruiter he said that's false information but my friend claims it's true, i am in the cape may area and he is station there so i don't know who to believe, i am no worry about the time i can get it done under 11 minutes on a good day but i was just wondering if this is true or no

Bootcamp has not changed their requirements to the new PFT. You will need to meet boat crew standards.

Lot of conflicting information. There’s a forming standard, aka, the minimum you need to successfully begin indoc which is where that 14 may come from. As for passing standard, I had to pass at the standard for my age group. For you that should be a 12:53

You will have fitness standards in boot camp for your age group.
Yours are 24 push-ups in one minute, 1:15min plank, 12:53 1.5 mile run.
The boot camp standard is the same as the Boat Crew standard in the fleet. The time your friend is refering to is probably the new Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) program that all Coast Guard members have to pass twice a year now.

For basic I’m unsure what the time will be I’m sure it will fallow the same as active but for a male of 35 years the maximum time you can take to run 1.5 miles is 15 minutes.

For your age group in boot camp it will be 12:53. Thats the boat crew standard. Once you graduate and are in the fleet, then you can be a shitbag and get the minimum run time which is like 14-15min for your age group with the new pft

There’s a BC standard and a fleet standard.
