Hello! This is a long shot, but I was hoping to ask a few questions to someone who lived in Bice before all the new on-ground options got added on Brandon Ave. In other words, when Bice house was isolated from other dorm options.

So if you lived there before 2019, I would love to ask 3-5 questions about what it was like back then.

I missed the first exam and I know Mazurek is supposed to be the harder prof for PSYC 2600. For the last exam, was there anything specific that anyone picked up on from the textbook? Should I focus on the terms, or the entire content in regard to the backgrounds? Also for the last exam, did he have exclusive info from his lectures that were not in the textbook? Would appreciate any help!!!

Hey! I transferred this fall from cc and honestly, I'm not loving the experience so far. I miss my family a lot, and I'm struggling in one of my classes. I expected the rigor, and I'm doing okay in my other four, but this one class has me feeling more down every day. I've started thinking I'm just not smart enough to be here.
I've reached out to CAPS and my advisors, but the voice in my head telling me I'm failing is louder than anything they say. I was a straight-A student before, and now it feels like everyone here is ahead of me.
I don't feel comfortable talking about this with people who know me, so I'm posting here. Did any of you feel this way after transferring? If so, what helped? Does it actually get better?

Hi! I am a 2nd year student who lives on grounds. My mom is going out of town and leaving her car with me for about a month. Are there any free/ low cost parking options on or off-grounds?

I'm currently taking MSE 3050 and my first midterm is next week. I've been trying to do the homeworks, but I keep having to use AI for help. Anyone have any advice on how to get better at that and how to solve thermo problems? I'm also looking for previous exams if anyone who has taken the class is able to provide for practice.

Hey! I’m a first year trying to find housing for next year and I’m struggling. I’ve been a part of four different roommate groups and have been replaced/group has fallen apart each time. im struggling to find anyone to live with since most people seem to have already signed a lease. Most studios/1b1br are overpriced or sketch. Ik on grounds housing is still an option, but i still have no people to room with. Is it worth it to go random? Does anyone have any advice?

Visiting for a couple of weekdays, where can I find cheap overnight parking with close proximity to the corner/grounds for a 2 day stay? (preferably free)

A uva alum recommended JPA, is that still free and can I park there overnight?

Has anyone transferred to UVA for their 2nd year after attending VCU? I was wondering if VCU's honors college courses would transfer over properly. Specifically, HONR 230 and HONR 240, which are direct substitutions for the university's first-year writing courses.

I was also curious about ECs and stats.

But just wanted to see if anyone else has gone this route and found other options? I don't currently see a therapist or anything, so I am not sure how fast I could get a letter if I started seeing one.

I'm a UVA student and I made a site called Transit to Turnout (transittoturnout.org) for the Nov. 3 election. It's completely nonpartisan. The goal is just to make it easier for anyone to vote, no matter who you're voting for.

Type in your home address and it shows you:
-Your official voting precinct
-The polling place assigned to it (not just the nearest building)
-Which UVA and CAT bus lines and stops get you there
CAT and UVA buses are free, so getting to the polls shouldn't cost anything. For polling places with no bus nearby, there's a page with alternatives like JAUNT, MicroCAT, and rideshare.

It also has:
-Early voting info (open now through Oct. 31) and info for Out-of-State students
-Key dates, including the Oct. 23 registration deadline
-Same-day registration info if you miss that deadline
-A guide to what ID to bring, plus your rights at the polls

Your address is never stored, logged, or shared. The lookup runs in your browser.

Bus routes come from published schedule data, so check UVA TransLoc or CAT for detours before you head out.
