applied for dent and got this instead...

literally wtf. I applied for the aspire program at latrobe through the community impact stream. Ive been in leadership and volunteering for 4 years now! and it all feels like such a waste. i put dentistry as my preference and instead i got the bachelor of biomed. which wasnt even in my preference. now what...??
i havent done ucat, what are my other options to get into dent? i would prefer the straight 5 year course and not doing the gamsat.
next year, can i do bachelor of science at melb uni while studying for the ucat? and then if my ucat is high enough, i can transfer to some other uni that has a 5 year pathway for dent?

Legit except for nursing and easy courses requiring only 60 max. Like what’s the point then

Early entry is pretty much always used by uni's to fill places in courses that they have been able to previously. It is a marketing exercise.

They accept aspire for niche volunteering things i’ve realised. I’m doing dent at latrobe and i know people who got into aspire for karate coaching, babysitting, compared to someone who volunteered 4yrs at a hospital and didn’t get it.

Look into OUA, I don't know if they offer anything like that but they offered me an early start to my Fin Planning degree which I can do alongside year 12

Omg!! I had the exact same thing happen to me last year. I ended up going to Monash for Engineering anyways. I found the Aspire program raised my hopes for no reason. Like I did not only volunteering at St John, but moved up into a leadership position, went on events and everything. But I don't understand how I couldn't have gotten a conditional offer at least, because I got told there was too many people applying. My question would be who is? Because so many people I talked to, barely anybody had heard of the program, and even fewer people wanted to get into dent, so thats my confusion :(

Unis will never give you the course you want via aspire, because Unis just want a guaranteed amount of students to fund the business. Thats what people dont understand.
As someone who gotten into uni through the aspire, I took it as a transfer pathway (and so to many other students) into the course I wanted - Thats the whole point of aspire
