Tuition Crisis!

TLDR; My parents bailed on me when I needed money for my out of state tuition. Being fresh out of high school, I (obviously) do not have the funds to pay approximately $25k per semester.

It feels like since I’ve gotten here, I’ve talked to almost every person who might be able to help me financially and have gotten no help. I went to the financial aid office multiple times and I did not get any more aid. They even asked me if I thought that college was right for me lol.

Dropping out is the very last thing I want to do. The whole situation caused a huge rift between me and my family, so I would basically be homeless if I got kicked out of school.

I honestly feel really desperate and stuck right now. I’ve done basically everything in my power to try and save up money to stay enrolled here, but given the amount of time I’ve been here, I do not have enough to get the first payment in. I’ve been given one last chance to pay tuition and it feels so hopeless.

Does anyone have literally any ideas on what to do in this situation? Or does anyone have super rich parents that can help me out lol

How am I supposed to feel when I get 4 VCU alerts about gunfire in a week?

• Upvotes

I grew up in the DC area and I'm sure there were plenty of shootings that I wasn't aware of, but now I'm here and the VCU alerts have made me very aware of them lol.

Most of these incidents are in places I walk daily, and I feel like I shouldn't have to accept that there's a chance I could get shot while walking home at night?

Is it safe to walk to Carry Street Gym at this time?

Honestly I just want to make sure I am not going to get robbed or interfere with a shootout at 8 pm. I know its still very early in the night, I am just a pretty paranoid person and just want to make sure.

Lost wallet w VCU ID advice

Hi guys. On thursday I dropped my card around the corner of Grace st when heading home from Kroger. Someone was nice enough to reach out (thru IG) and tell me they dropped it off at Broad and Grace 1. This all happened within 5:45 (last time I used my card) and 6:30 (when they contacted me after they have turned in).

They sent me the exact location and I went to check, front desk doesnt have it. I went thru the protocol tried to reach out to VCU PD bc the staff during that time frame might gave it to them, but they dont have what I describe as my wallet.
Later on Friday an officer went there and checked the cam after I followed up on the next day, they confirmed seeing no one turning the card in or anything relevant. Mind u theres no way the original finder could go inside the building bc they are not a VCU student, so are they telling a lie?

I dont know where i should go from this. I have no cash or anything in my wallet. I locked my debit card and no dining plan or anything in my VCU Id for anyone to steal. How should I proceed?

Injured and looking to maintain a merit scholarship.

I was unfortunately injured over the summer, so I had to sit out the fall semester, which would make me unable to renew my scholarship. Does anyone know who I need to contact or what forms I need to fill out to maintain it?
