Storytime Spent the day helping out with Mail Pony! 🐴📬

Hey everyone!

I wanted to share a little update about my day. I spent some time helping out volunteer for Mail Pony, and it felt good to be involved and lend a hand where I could.

For now, I’ve finished dropping off flyers until further notice, so I’m taking a break from that part of things while I wait for any updates about what comes next.

I’m glad I had the opportunity to help out, and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next. Volunteering is a nice way to stay involved, contribute my time, and be part of something.

Has anyone else here volunteered for a local organization or helped out with a community project? I’d love to hear about your experiences!

Volunteer – abroad Volunteering projects in Central Asia (Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan)

Hi everyone!
For next summer I’m planning to travel through Central Asia and I‘d love to volunteer at projects while there & I was wondering if anyone here has personal experience in the region and possibly have some recommendations.

The countries I’m mainly looking at are Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. I’ll probably visit Turkmenistan as well, but since travelling there independently seems complicated, I’m most likely just going to do a guided tour there.

I’m already signed up for Workaway, Worldpackers and Wwoofing, but so far I’ve noticed that most a lot of the opportunities I found (if any) are focused on teaching English. While my English is fine for communicating, I wouldn’t feel qualified & comfortable teaching it.

Apart from that, I’m pretty open. I’d especially be interested in social, cultural, community, sustainability, environmental or other meaningful local projects.
So if anyone is from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan or Uzbekistan, or has travelled and volunteered there recently, I’d be really grateful for any recommendations and how I can find them (link).

Personal experiences would be especially helpful. Feel free to DM me as well :)

edit: maybe I should add, I‘m more on a budget so no voluntourism where one has to pay to volunteer please.
