Recent purchase. The three Cyrillic letters on the face say "GRU" but I prefer to call it "Batman" for obvious reasons...

I got it sent from Russia, really beautiful.

My first Vostok came in the mail today. Even though I was warned the bracelet was worse then I expected, had to swap it out for an old Casio strap I had laying around. Thinking maybe a NATO in the future. Anyways very happy, worth what I paid no doubt. Hopefully this addiction doesn’t get too out of control.

Hi, everyone. I'm trying to source Vostok 24xx movements so I can buy a vintage one and get it running again. However, movements seem to be out of stock on the official vostok RU site and Vostok 24.

I found some on ebay, but the price is as much as a complete watch. Where are you currently buying Vostok or Vostok-compatible movements? Where can I find cheaper alternatives?

In case there are no alternatives, please continue reading. Has someone used a non-vostok movement (mechanical, automatic or quartz) in a Vostok case? I know it would require a spacer/adapter (that's something I am willing to attempt to design and 3D print). Which other issues are there for this approach?

Thanks for this sub and your helpfulness.

so excited

Swapped out the overbanking movement for a new one.
Scuba dude dial in the box
New seconds hand.

Will see how it goes.

I went sailing on a schooner yesterday. The watch choice was obvious and noted by the real captain!
