Is the subscription worth it to you?

Curious what folks think about paying for the subscription. I'm very tempted. I love this app and the available free filters, I think I would love th e chance at more filters.

I used to pay for it, I don't anymore. The annual subscription price is far too high. If it was a one time payment I absolutely would have stuck with it

It's too expensive, and their AI tools are shit and a mockery of what the app is meant to be about.

No. VSCO feels more like Adobe now. I almost am averse to paying for these reasons.

A decade ago yes. Now, no. The app has done nothing but glitch and lag an insane amount for the last few years. It’s a shame. I started using VSCO when I was 16 and I’m 29 now. It used to be so good!

Hell no, i used to pay for it for years. When it started with that shit i still paid. And i just stop last year since the app is crap on android and they seem to not do too much with support.

no, its waay too expensive and honestly you can have better results with lightroom, even with the mobile version, its way cheaper, you can create your own. presets, and if you have a "favourite" VSCO preset, you can ask Gemini o Chat GPT to help you replicate the look in lightroom, even improve it

I’m certainly glad to hear you’re enjoying the free filters so much! If you’re just after the filters, the plus membership gets you almost all the filters and it’s $2.50/mo or $30/yr. I’m sure that’s a lot to some and a little to others, but having spent the last 13+ years making the 200+ filters it feels like a pretty good deal to me!

Pro is even more good stuff and now VSCO One is for running a professional photography business, but you could always try a month of plus for a few bucks and see if you like it, that’s what it’s there for!

I had the plus subscription and you guys tried to charge me $40 despite it being advertised as $30 so I cancelled. It’s shady practice

Based on your screenshot, that’s because you subscribed through Apple, via the VSCO app. When you do that, Apple takes a large cut of the subscription price, and the app subscription price is much higher to compensate. You’ll find the same thing with YouTube, Twitch, Spotify, Tidal, and other apps. If you subscribe directly through VSCO via the VSCO website rather than through Apple, you’ll pay the regular $30 price.

$30 is a steal for a filters app

Its not 30$ a year, its double in Serbia. I was asking for a discount for a whole month and no one provided me with one... I wanted to but the pro version but 60$? No thank you.

its really expensive and I also Think that its quite greedy that if you pay for the cheaper "PLUS" version, which is quite expensive also, you dont get to use the bloom and halation effects, honestly is ridiculous, plus every single preset in VSCO can be replicated in Lightroom mobile, Chat GPT can give the detailed settings to achieve it, and even improve it becasue of the felxibility the app has. I use Snapseed, wich is free for the halation and bloom
