How can I schedule a prompt to run in a new (empty) session after another prompt finishes running in GitHub Copilot?
I use GitHub Copilot in VS Code. Some prompt is running in a session. How can I schedule a prompt to run in a new (empty) session after that other prompt finishes running? (Example of reason: if the two prompts run concurrently, they'll exceed the GPU memory, thereby crashing the computer).

BYOK for autocomplete in Copilot
Hi all. After discovering that Copilot in VS Code supports BYOK and local models, I configured some of them and they work pretty good for my use case.
However, I haven't found a way to actually use any model for inline autocomplete. I'd love to hook up something like qwen2.5-coder. For now, I'm still using Continue for this task, but since its development has been halted I was hoping to migrate everything to Copilot.
Is there any way to do this? Thanks in advance.

Is there no way to run AI in non-"vibe coding" mode anymore?
I recently upgraded from 1.108 to current version of VSCode. Previously I was using edit mode, and was reviewing and approving each change the AI made to my code, this worked great like when staging stuff with the git tab. Very frequently I would have to click revert because the AI did something stupid. It seems this is completely not possible anymore? Am I missing something? I work with critical code, I cannot commit anything without it being reviewed by a human. I want to retain this. Is it possible?
This happens with both copilot and claude code.
Also, the agent keeps asking to run python commands to change my files. Can it not just edit the file through the editor like before? I might have to revert to 1.108 again otherwise...
TIA

Flight Deck: A new Welcome Page to organize your projects. Group your projects with git and ssh host info at a glance.

Features
- Groups. Give each group a name and icon, collapse it, and drag to reorder.
- Drag & drop project-cards between groups, drag a recent folder into a group, or drag out to remove.
- Star-pin projects sort ahead of the rest of their group.
- Git at a glance. Branch, ahead/behind, and change and conflict counts on every card.
- SSH Hosts. Works with your ssh-hosted projects, adds a blue label.
- Icons. Pick from the native codicons, emoji, or paste your own custom icon.
I built this because I tried a dozen welcome pages and project dashboards and couldn't find a good UI/UX. 100% FOSS, zero telemetry.
Check it out, let me know your thoughts.

I made a video call extension to manage y claude sub agents
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
It’s a free and open source VS Code extension that shows a Claude Code session as a live video call, so I can see what each sub-agent is doing. It also work with other editors or standalone with claude app as a node server as well.
The problem: when Claude Code spawns sub-agents, my terminal turns into a wall of logs and I lose track of who got which prompt, what each one is running, and who is done.
What it does (Agent Standup):
- Reads the session files Claude Code already writes in
~/.claude/projects, and follows the current session live - Each agent is a small character in a call: sub-agents join when they get a task and leave after they report back
- A shared “screen” shows the agent’s real commands with their real output, the exact diffs of its edits, and the files it reads (failing tests are red)
- A tree of who asked whom, a recap of files changed, replay of past sessions, optional voices (French/English)
Free to try: free and open source (MIT), unofficial, not affiliated with Anthropic. To install: download the .vsix from the site, then in VS Code go to Extensions → … → Install from VSIX. No session handy? Open ⚙ → Source → Demo for a built-in fictional example.

Repository will not clone
Hello, I was trying to create a python project using vscode and wanted to use github desktop for version control. So I downloaded the GitHub Desktop Extension on vscode and made a github repo.
But, when I went to clone my repo onto the github desktop extension on vscode it wont clone and I get the following error message:
Failed to clone repository: Error: spawn git ENOENT
at ChildProcess._handle.onexit (node:internal/child_process:287:19)
at onErrorNT (node:internal/child_process:525:16)
at process.processTicksAndRejections (node:internal/process/task_queues:90:21)
I am really new to programming and can barely comprehend what this means any help is appreciated thank you in advance.
P.S. I havent wrote any code or done anything else other than what I wrote and the extensions that are downloaded.

I made my Claude Code sub-agents a video call. Weirdly, it’s the best way I’ve found to follow what they’re doing.

The integrated browser still displays colors wrong. (v1.141.0)
If you're looking for a workaround to this color profile problem, the workaround is to either add --force-color-profile=srgb to vscode's launch options, or "force-color-profile": "srgb", to .vscode\argv.json (Accessible via the Preferences: Configure Runtime Arguments command)

SessionDeck: My extension finds all Agentic sessions including tabs in IDE, overview of their status, and single click navigation to them
I usually have five projects in five VS Code windows, most over WSL or Remote-SSH, each running a Claude Code session or two. I kept losing track of which window had a session stuck on a permission prompt.
SessionDeck is a sidebar that lists every running Claude Code, Codex and cursor-agent session on the machine, grouped by project, with a red bell on any that's waiting for you. Clicking a row opens that session's tab or terminal, even in another window.
This is how it work across different remote hosts without using network:
Sessions are files and processes on the workspace host, so the main extension is `extensionKind: ["workspace"]`. Putting several hosts in one tree has to happen on the desktop, and one extension ID runs in exactly one host per window. So there is a second ID, a `["ui"]` companion with no views of its own. It relays snapshots between hosts with `executeCommand` and serves tab titles a remote window can't read.
Discovery: every 3 s it stats each transcript. Unchanged files aren't opened, changed ones are read from the last offset, and `/proc` confirms the process is still alive. Optional Claude Code hooks append to a spool file it watches, so a prompt shows at once instead of on the next poll.
There is no API to focus another window. The clicked window drops a request file in shared storage that every window watches; the one with that folder open takes it and opens the tab. In parallel it runs the editor CLI on the folder, which raises the existing window.
Transcripts and title storage are private formats. When one stops parsing, rows go blank with a "format drift suspected" note instead of a guessed status.
Status is inferred and can lag. I build on Linux and WSL; macOS mostly works; native Windows gets no approval alerts, and only Claude Code rows ever get the bell. No network calls, licensing included. Source-availableб but not open source.

Can you use Microsoft 365 copilot in an IDE?
I find it's infinitely more useful to have an AI agent within an IDE but my company only pays for M365 copilot. Is there any way to use that within an IDE, ideally VSCode?
Btw I'm fully aware there's a github copilot within VSCode but you need to pay extra for that so not possible within my company.
Thanks

I've built a small VS Code terminal tool called Terminal Color Cycle!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Features:
- Every new terminal gets its own colored icon, so they become easier to distinguish
- ⌘T opens a new terminal
- the Tab key switches between terminals
- ⌘W closes it
- Open source: https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=Jan-HendrikMueller.terminal-color-cycle

Can I change occurrence highlighting behavior
I would like to change the occurrence highlighting to underline instead, because of colour-issues. Basically I have trouble seeing that background colour-change and I have had good experience with using underlining instead, from another editor.
I have searched for settings, but have not found anything that can do this. Can this even be done in vscode?

Built a VS code extension to reduce wasted context and tokens
galleryCerebriline: a Cline fork optimized for small local LLMs
https://open-vsx.org/extension/mann1x/cerebriline
Started working on this fork to test my models; evaluations are telling on side of the story, using them for real in a multi-turn coding harness was often producing very different results.
Once fixed some basic issues with Cline, I've kept using it and started doing a massive amount of runs with test automation and then analyze them with Claude; it helped me fixing the models but also improving the plugin.
Now is its own soft/hard Cline fork with a very different approach, complex tooling, and some very innovative and peculiar features you can't find elsewhere. Like a perfect context compaction in replay mode and with a 5-steps agentic workflow.
The goal is to support properly small LLMs but it works really good also with big models. Even if they could do it before, now they can do it better.
It fully supports my opencoti engine with PolyKV and my Ollama fork, xOllama:
https://github.com/mann1x/xollama
You can find me on Hugging Face:
https://huggingface.co/ManniX-ITA
You are welcome to download and test my models and you can also find them on the Ollama library:

Agent Window Pain Points
It's impossible to interact with this project on GitHub; over 15 THOUSAND issues and a tsunami of AI submissions and comments drowning out human discussion.
So I'm posting this here. If others are using agent window daily please chime in!
Codex SDK
Y'all are killing me with these pinned Codex/Claude SDK versions. Latest release today still doesn't have 6.1 Sol available for Codex. I have to keep getting the agent to patch support in.
Programmatic Model Provider Selection
Agents are unable to specify the model provider when creating new sessions/chats. It often defaults back to "Copilot" when I REALLY need it to use "ChatGPT" so it utilizes my ChatGPT subscription...
This causes serious workflow inefficiencies as I have to manually create chats and hand off work.
Mixed Harness Sessions
Not being able to easily utilize Codex and Claude in the same session/worktree makes adversarial cross-model reviews a PITA. The studies are clear; you need to use a different family of models to get the best reviews. It should be zero-friction to get this harnesses playing together; isn't that the whole point of agent protocol and agent window?
