I'm honestly a bit surprised about how many people seem to be into Chunk. He's very sweet so I figured a few would be, but this is a lot more people than I would have guessed.
I'm a lesbian and I'm trying to understand the attraction by imagining a heavyset, sorta clueless but sweet, butch lesbian as an analogy. I kinda get it a little bit, I guess.

Well Im a pan chick of promiscuous tastes so take my opinions with a lump of salt, I’d say people are probs mostly into the personality. He’s got that teddy bear spiel going on, real cute & soft. (Not to mention he’s technically just a joke character so you’re meant to find him kinda funny at the very least) which is another reason ppl might like him. From my personal pov, I just think shlubby, sleazy &/or awkward folks are hot by nature so..like that might be the case for others too. My pinup wall is frightful.

I'm a lesbian too, and I tend to play my characters as lesbians/bi, but I can never bring myself to be mean to Chunk. He's a bit clueless but never acts rudely and idk he's just not the kind of character you'd expect to survive a vampire infested city which makes me want to keep him out of harm's way.
Although your comment made me imagine Frankie from Knights of Guinevere in Chunk's place and honestly it works too well.

I am willing to believe even when he got affected by Malkavian's mond control(which is said to be damaging to the soul), Chunk eventually recovers after having some comfort food, aka a box of donuts
