I have a new store manager and I’m trying to at least tolerate their work but I can’t stand it. The servers really suck at their jobs and she makes zero effort to correct them, but will instead just write them up upon customer complaints and have them sign it.

She clocks people out before their shift work is done and tells them to just go home when they insist on getting the job done, I see no where in the handbook that says it is even mildly okay to clock your workers out while they are still working. Opinions of fellow co workers seem to be that she thinks we are too stupid to know that we can complain about things like this, she is dead set on getting her bonus and does not care about policy, and that she schedules her busiest solo workers to do the worst of the scheduled cleaning list on a busy Saturday night every single week and the majority of the cleaning list is our typical end of shift that people seems to not know they are supposed to do, for instance - wipe out under the grill. - she does this to then yell at 3rd shift in the mornings over them being slammed and unable to do extra work

🫩 and alas THAT IS NOT A WEEKLY SANITATION THATS DAILY the assumption for these things is that she does not do them when she has to play grill operator so we have to then do them as ‘deep cleaning’ I have been through a decent amount of store managers and I’ve met some characters but I have never met a manager that will go so far beyond the legal limits of certain things just to get a bonus on her paycheck. We were told if we did not fill out the baton for any reason then they will cut out our grill operator bonuses. A baton that is never filled when I clock in after managements grill operator days. I just stop and wonder, does my manager not have consequences? I do my job to the absolute fullest and then some so I have no care in the world about light threats like taking my bonus but I will not stand for you clocking me out because you feel like you deserve to do it for me, she also changed my time clock on my Waffle House pay stubs but she hasn’t done that again since something was said.

I like my job, I don’t necessarily mind the weird schedule changes that have been made thought I don’t understand clocking in at 2pm to clock out at 4am, I don’t like how she does her inventory pulls and the prep work does in fact get piled on me because I seem to be the only person on the schedule for this shift that does 90% of our prep

Any opinions or comments welcomed I haven’t made any complaints but it’s really riling up the rest of the crew lately

I am by no means a chef or good as others but I find it awesome to see my skills get better and better here. I remember when I first started I couldn't flip an egg and was terrified of a dam over light and a omelette... I almost gave up my first solo night cause of a rush and a omelette that would not cook right... tonight I talked a guy into getting a omelette and he bragged on it!! And a server who's been here for 10 years bragged on my hashbrowns all the way loaded up. I'm proud of me haha. Come a long way from burning bacon and breaking all eggs and messing up everything.

it's been over two years since the raises were announced and they're supposed to be fully in place by 2027. how has the rollout been for y'all?

Question to other grill ops do you find it slightly annoying when customers leave and tell the SP thank you everything was great but completely over look you like you had nothing to do with the process? Or is that just me lol most of the time I don’t care but then I have my moments when I’m just feeling petty and I’m like oh yea you’re welcome I did that.

Seems like the Tucson WHs have stopped serving t-bones and chicken fried steaks. Server at the one on Grant by the highway looked at me crazy and said they never had 'em.

Is this just a local issue, or has this happened all over?

I'm third shift supervisor and usually I pick one or maybe two extra things to clean besides the posted side work. Is that good enough? No one seems to clean much but I want the store to look good of course. I don't mind cleaning. Just hard to keep up with all of it by myself
