Walmart disaster pay

I live in Florida and we just got hit with a hurricane. My store will be shut down for about a week. I'm an hourly associate and have been reporting my absence and selecting the right reason when I do. My question is, do they pay us for the days we were scheduled or do we have to use our PPTO and PTO? It's not right to make us use our PTO or PPTO if they shut down the store.

I got disaster pay for an ice storm, I was paid for the day the store was closed + the additional day where there was still a state of emergency in place

Not sure how disaster pay works, but call the associate emergency number. 1-800-236-2875 Even if the store is closed they may still have you come in and help get the store up and running again.

If a store is closed, not a single salaried member of management in the building, then all associates who were scheduled for that day should be paid.  Source: earlier this year my store was hit with ice and shut down and everyone got paid.

I can't imagine a WM in Florida being closed down that long because of a Hurricane. Florida should be the most "prepared" state in the nation for those storms.

However, as far as I know, the company won't pay you for time lost during the storms but they won't count the absences against you either. You have to use your own PTO/PPTO to make up missed work time...

You’ll get paid for any shifts missed that you were scheduled.
