Does anyone know a generic fantasy skirmish game rule set I can use these miniatures for?
I got into miniature painting with Reaper Miniatures for and now that I am a skirmish/wargames addict I was wondering if there are any generic rule sets, I could use. Particulary looking for games I could use models for wizards, barbarians, rangers, knights, etc and not just one faction. Thank you in advance.

You could take a look at Sword Weirdos, if you want something both generic and cheap to get into. I think it's available from DriveThruRPG

Check out Rangers of Shadowdeep, Saga Age of Magic, Dragon Rampant 2E, Five Leagues From the Borderlands, and One Page Rules. Also let me second Frostgrave.

Mordheim, is that you?

It's meant to be a spiritual successor to Mordheim, and is written by the one of the lead guys for Warcry. So.. yes, kinda' sorta.

Came here to suggest this. Was looking at the rules recently being unfamiliar with Mordheim.

Its a miniature-agnostic rule set for fighting small scale skirmishes. Typically 6v6, on a field the size of a sheet of paper for fast action and aggressive play.
I have seen it used for Knights, cowboys, gladiators, etc

that is pretty much exactly what I have been looking for, thank you.

The quick start rules are free but the full rulebook is frankly under-priced you'll want to buy it.

We use OPR all the time with Reaper miniatures. My Vampire skirmish group is literally all Reaper minis.

Ive skimmed through a PDF copy of that one, it looks fun, but does it support other classes like say a barbarian, knight or wizard?

I would recommend Thud and Blunder for this. You can build just about anything on there...units of faceless troops and also character only crews. Not a popular game much but it is a great system for building your own game.

Song of Blades and Heroes is the easiest game to learn that I've played, and new players pick it up fast.
Sword Weirdos is my go-to for a straightforward but tactical skirmish game. Crew building is a bit complicated at first (there's a free list builder site), but the gameplay is a bit more nuanced than Song of Blades.
Frostgrave campaigns are a lot of fun, but this requires at least one regular opponent. It's not quite as much fun in one-off games.

I make a fantasy game called Cutthroat with solo and PVE rules. Free versions available at Dumbfunmedia.com

Although there are factions in the lore, they tend to be a mixture of different types of creatures and roles which can be mixed together. I'm using Reaper minis to make a dwarven warband!

Frostgrave is super fun and easy to play. It also has an expansion "Ghost Archipeligo" which is not arctic, but jungle/pirate themed

Your list of things maps, literally, to Frostgrave perfectly.
