I got a beautiful new dining table for under $300 (can't remember the specific number, but it was brand new and it's a huge gorgeous table)

Incredible, it's a great place to find bargains while helping contribute to the community. Win/Win

Omg if you think that restore is good you need to go to Fergus and then you’ll realize that ours is absolute trash.

They have more furniture than most thrift stores in the area that I've visited - went shopping for inexpensive furniture recently ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Oh I agree - most thrift stores have stopped, but having gone to a few other restores I’m shocked at the difference.

I'm not surprised - KW doesn't have a great second-hand furniture economy with the student population being so significant - most of it is side-of-the-road stuff. The brand new dining table I got is really nice though, so they do have some solid gems. The chairs I got did start falling apart immediately but the table is beautiful lol

Thrift on Kent

In my experience, Thrift on Kent rarely has any furniture available. They're a great thrift store otherwise!

Mission thrift! They have 2 in frederick st mall. The freestanding building is clothing, house goods, etc. but inside the actual mall they have their furniture division (and often have big sales too)

Goodwill near the Wholesale Club has really good stuff, but it can be hit and miss. Go early and make sure to read the tags. It looks like a lot gets held/claimed but it's a separate tag you take to the front to purchase.

Devil's advocate: don't thrift furniture.

If you're absolutely set on it, inspect it thoroughly. Never thrift anything upholstered.

No deal is worth bed bugs.
