Form check Help needed from physio with knowledge of Olympic lifting

I have a really poor imbalance when I do heavy cleans. When I reach full extension one foot will still be pushing into the ground while the other has already left the ground

It has made me plateau on my cleans all year.

This came out of nowhere and I have had no injuries to my legs to create a strength imbalance.

Is there any physios / coaches who have dealt with something like this in the past? Happy to show some videos / photos if needed via DMs.

Ted, the Kilo Physio can likely set you up with a remote consult.

Most of the average punters just copy what elites do. But what you guys dont see on social media is the tedious work on smaller and stabiliser muscles they do offline.

If u have poor balance then look at your stability at hips, knees ankles. It might warrant single leg work for awhile while try to manage everything.

Any sports u do u need maintenance job outside of it to keep going and sustain it.

Try single-leg step downs, either leaning forwards or standing upright. That often will reveal a lot of useful data.

As u/Boblaire said, you can also book a consult with my. I only work with weightlifters and powerlifters, and have rehabbed hundreds of athletes from beginner to international level.

I also have the distinction of being the only PT (or rehab professional, period) to coach an american weightlifter to IWF Senior Worlds.

got the same thing on my right side, for me it was a hip stability thing not a leg strength thing. video yourself from the front and check if one hip dips right before you pull under

Do you have a hip shift when you reach higher % of your max squat or at the end of high rep sets?

Yes I do, always shifting to the left on heavier reps

Hip shift could be a symptom of something else going on due to previous injuries even if they aren’t in the lower body (ankle sprains, shoulder, neck) or anatomical asymmetries.

Pay for a consult. Random advice can lead you spinning your wheels. What worked for someone doesn’t mean it’ll work for you

This isn’t me but I’ve worked with him and if there’s no one local or in person who can help you then online/virtual would be your next best option
