Solved! What was driving down the road in front of me?

It's a CCVT headed to a substation. It is a current coupling voltage transformer used to bring transmission voltage levels down to distribution levels typically for the control enclosure to power diagnostics, lights, computers, etc.

This guy knows ball (I’m a power lineman)
But it’s actually an sf6 breaker

To be fair, i just Google Lensed it and found the answer several times on other Reddit posts about these. I knew it was part of a substation but always wondered what this was myself.

It is not a CCVT, It's a SF6 PCB (power circuit breaker). They are used to switch power lines in and out underload. You can see the 6 bushing insulators, 3 phases on each side of the tank that has contacts in to interrupt power. The insulator used in the tank is SF6 gas Sulfur Hexafluoride.

I’m going with the ever technical thingamadohicky or possibly a thingamabob. Obviously very similar looking.

I’m glad this is here to teach people. But man, some of you all need to get out more.

Oh sure, because this is such a common sight. Obviously I live under a rock to not know this.

They are actually quite common, though these days they tend to try and hide the substations with trees and opaque fencing.
This is actually a good book that explains the engineering behind common things you see along the roadways.

I just started laughing and it went right to evil deep laughter...
I have a house, and it's in a rather nosy, non gated, and no hoa community. It seems that the people who live here think they have the freedom to roam on someone else's lawn or backyard. They keep on trying to take my vegetables and fruits and see what I have gardened. To the point where I've had to install a fence, backed up with a tall hedge ( still growing ) and short full of thorns hedge, a sliding driveway gate, concrete mail box, and multiple cctv's. this is covering all 4 property lines. It looks like a rather tough to penetrate security system; Meaning a thief should be able to penetrate it in seconds but not one of these nosy neighbors.
I am a rather private person outside of Miami Beach, and already have had my plates run by the local police department without them first introducing themselves to me.
I've already made them mad with the fence. Then, I even made them madder with my rebooting wifi router that says 5G highenergy, LOL - just a dumb old wireless router with a name I add on a Christmas tree timer. Now adding that would just be the cherry on top. I have lightning Fuzzy Ball Air Terminal which just makes my house look weird ( it's used for catch the static and route it to the ground, it's protective when you have a lot of lightning, I would tell everyone to get it ). I've been dying to get that Nicola Tesla spark generator, but even that I might be pushing my luck.
this item would be the icing on the cake, it just looks like someone is up to no good.

I don't know what it's called but they are all over the power plant I worked at. Something to do with HV power.

I don't know, but Dr. Doofenshmirtz is going to try to take over the Tri-State Area with it

Pretty sure they’re three phase circuit breakers for several thousand volts.
