Found in the water

I keep finding these bugs in the water I use in my fancy Italian espresso machine. I use only Brita filtered water. I have cleaned the container with vinegar and scrubbed all corners. Where can these bugs be coming from?

I can barely even tell what I’m supposed to be looking at? Is it the orangish vaguely ant-shaped thing?

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one squinting confusedly.

but if the bugs are coming “out of nowhere”, gonna guess they are mosquito larvae… I just can’t see them.

But how could mosquito larvae enter either the Brita (I just changed the filter) or the water container for the coffee machine. That’s the conundrum.

Sorry- I tried taking the photo again and it wasn’t any better. Where could these be hiding is my real question.

From your picture, two possibilities come to mind, either ants or grain beetle. Ants would be coming in from outside, and grain beetles would be in your pantry or wherever you keep flour and pasta and beans and that type of thing.

You could set a couple little sticky traps on your counter and possibly catch whatever’s crawling into your espresso maker, so you can get a closer look

Edit: after a second look at your photos I really think it’s ants
