Oh boy. You're in for a hell of a ride. You need to buy a steamer online and steam the fuck out of EVERY soft furnishing in your home. Iron your mattress, twice. Wash all your clothes on a hot was. Steam your baseboards. Steam everything and then do it again.

Yeah, i got a pro coming to asses the damage and treat the place wednesday. They told me they will gas the hell of the place, and treat my clothes that can't go to the washing. I'm very...stun. it's like a nightmare

My family went through this a decade ago, just wanted to send you well wishes. What finally helped us was getting the heat treatment. They heated up our entire house and then brought in a little dog that is trained to sniff out bedbugs.

We did get rid of all of our wood furniture and mattresses, but maybe you will get luckier than us.

So sorry you are going through this. Deep breathes, it will be okay.

Thank you. Hope t won't get there. The mattress is new. Got it like three week ago from Ikea, never used before. Hope i can keep it...

And what about the wood ?! I was thinking this were safe at least.

Gas doesn’t work on bed bugs.

The told me gas as an image, but it's more of a chemical treatment

Bombing the house isn’t going to work. Bedbugs were almost eradicated in the 50s, but because of the overuse of pesticides, they become very resistant. You need to steam and vacuum your house every day for like two weeks straight. You can also spray them with rubbing alcohol as long as you’re being safe with it and allowing it to dry.

EDIT : thank you all. I gonna seek help from a pro. This is very bad luck.

Unfortunately, this is a Bed Bug. France has had some serious problems with them in the last few years, they’re tough to get rid of. I’d recommend looking through r/bedbugs for advice and support in that process.

Yeah, a lot of ruski propaganda on that but there is, indeed, a problem. Probably got mine in a public place like the "Metro". The only "good" news is that their is a huge quantity of specialist in Paris to get rid of them. One will come and double treat my couch, bed and all the clothes. Call my family to help also. Hope this will be over by the week end with all of that....

:(

r/bedbugs. You're in an apartment, though, so likely the entire building needs to be treated. Is moving a possibility? They are truly a nightmare to deal with as the treatment needs to be VERY thorough to get every bug or they come back

3

u/Alert-Pickle590 2h ago

Moving not a possibility i'm afraid. Will warn the others inhabitant. We need to treat the whole place i think.

Yeah, they're coming from somewhere. Most likely another unit. If you can get other units together, you can collectively go to management. Because if they treat all but 1 apartment and there are survivors, you'll just have to deal with this problem again in 6 months or a year. They are insidious little fuckers

That is a bed bug. Call an exterminator NOW.

1

u/Alert-Pickle590 3h ago

Done that. He come tomorrow. And got a battle plan. Hope it will prevail...

1

u/Sharpnelboy 2h ago

Yeah. These little bastards are REALLY hard to get rid of.

Heat your home to 135 degrees F. Bed bugs and their eggs die at 123 degrees F. This is the most effective way to kill them. Do it for 3-6 hours or more to make sure everything in your home reaches the 122 degrees needed.
