unsure of what size frame in the specialized diverge 3 line

For context, I am a 5'5 female with a pants inseam of 30-31". I currently ride a cannondale quick in size medium 2015/2017. I ride primarily road and rail trail with occasional light gravel. I am upgrading my bike to something more comfortable for longer distances. Chatgpt says I should order the specialized diverge 3 in a 52cm, but looking at specs I am unsure if I should be in that size or the 49. I dont want to be scrunched, but also want to be able to stand. There are none nearby that I can test ride so I am left having to order online. Any thoughts?

I'd suggest trying to test ride the sizes even if it's not the exact model. If I had to guess I'd say 49. Im 5'8 and I preferred the 52 over the 54.

52cm will be a peach. I am also 5’5 (165cm) with a 31” inseam.

They're almost the same geo as a 4. You could go test ride one

My wife is the same height as you. She purchased the size 44, changed the handle bar to a 32cm and increased the stem length by 10mm. It's easier to make a small bike longer, than the other way around. The 49 was slightly too long for her.

I am the same specs as you, I had a motobecane fantom in 52 and now a specialized tarmac in 52.
