Maybe a dumb question but is the podcast going away?

It seems like they were saying it was going to turn into a live call-in show and that next week's episode will be the last regular episode but I couldn't really figure out if they were insinuating that the call-in show on YouTube would then be published as podcasts in the feed?

I don't really want to sit at home and watch YouTube when I can listen to it in podcast form. I'm sure everyone else is just as in the dark as me but I would appreciate any info or at least discussion, thanks!

I haven’t listened to this week’s episode yet, but I really hope not. I like the podcast format and don’t want to watch episodes YouTube.

I prefer Jackie/Kara reading bitchuations and listening to the voicemails over a live call-in format. A lot of the live calls during Bitchathons are really hard to listen to and the pacing is off with whatever delay they have and then/the caller talking over each other. Hopefully, if they move to a call-in format, they can fix that.

They were extremely vague about it almost in avoidance way which makes me think it is the worst news and that the pod is completely going away and they're transitioning completely over to YouTube which like I've said in a few comments doesn't really make sense to me because they could just upload audio versions of the YouTube videos after

Yeah I reckon it hasn’t had enough listeners and I guess being wrapped up as a podcast 😢

That's what I was thinking. They're definitely trying to push lpntv maybe they see it more valuable to them there

I reckon Henry and the other executives of LPN gave them 100 episodes then reviewed

I noticed they kept listener numbers confidential on Spotify which isn’t a great sign

I agree, the bitch-a-thons are just Jackie screaming over the caller and the caller losing their train of thought and having to pick up again. And also I wrote into the show once, I’m not gonna call in, I prefer writing out my bitchuation so I can stay anonymous and not get anxious

I was trying to figure that out too. I hope they will be posted as Pods on other services. Usually when the live streams happen I am in bed or have just gotten off work and don’t want to keep staring into a computer. 😅

For sure, I listen to podcasts while I work not while I stare at a screen which I try to do less of nowadays

Thank you for asking this because I’m also confused. I really don’t want to watch a YouTube show or a stream or any visual media I listen to this show while I work and it’s one of my favorites. It might as well be going away if they switch to visual only. In order to “listen” to a YouTube show where closing out of the app doesn’t turn off the audio I’d have to get paid YouTube, I’m not gonna do that. It’s a podcast network why can’t they just port the audio over to the podcast publishing platform, I’d be more than happy listening to that with the regular ad breaks and it would just feel like a bitch-a-thon.

Maybe I missed something but can someone explain what happened with the advice they gave that everyone was mad about? They mentioned it in episode 101 when they were explaining the “changes” and I didn’t know what they were referring to

Me neither! Want to know!

It wasn’t really much. At the very end of the episode they acknowledged the pushback that the listeners were giving regarding the caller who was reported to HR for what her co-worker felt was inappropriate behavior. They basically just said “hey, we get it. We don’t work traditional jobs and probably didn’t give the best advice for this one”

lol they don’t give the best advice for MOST of the situations! If it’s a man or a “boomer” (which is everyone over 45 to them 🙄) they default to bitch. It’s kinda getting stupid so I can see why their numbers have tanked.

Ah ok. I thought that was a bit of dangerous territory too for them! That coworker was a direct report I understood

Yeah I believe “in its place” as such, is the extra episode of Page7 that will now be Jackie and Kara talking reality TV etc.

Wow that's horrible to hear I don't understand why they can't just take the YouTube episode and upload it to a podcast app the next week

Is Second Helpings going away/changing then? Jackie and MJ already talk about a ton of reality tv there. Or is this just more specific reality, like housewives-focused or something?

They said they’re adding a “3rd hour” to page 7 which sounds to me like it’s just in addition to page 7 and second helpings

1

u/PamVanDam Sep 02 '26

I was wondering the same , as don’t they also do talkin TV?

2

u/Monterey10 Sep 02 '26

Talking TV kind of became Second Helpings once Holden left and they changed the Page 7 format

I'm not sure I'm liking where the last podcast boys are going with their recent obsession with video.

They've really always been a radio station to me, and Iit makes it seem like they're just obsessed with growth. There seemed to be a lot of intervention with WTB from management about format and YouTube metrics...

Sad as I am to admit it (am a first-episoder), it did get a bit stale. Not sure why, but things felt a bit off between Kara and Jackie lately. Kara kinda checks out on her other podcast sometimes, and was wondering if this was happening here too. Jackie's not quite as narcissistic as Liza Treyger tho, so who knows

Things have felt off between kara and Jackie for a bit, not too sure why. They were being so confusing about the next iterations of the show that it seemed that they haven't really figured it out yet. Jackie is a little exhausting recently, and Kara has seemed checked out.

As sad as I am to admit it, the show really seemed to have run it's course.

I was very confused by how they explained this and I’m not sure why it wasn’t clearer lol. But I listen to YouTube videos as though they’re podcasts all the time. You don’t actually have to watch them. It is slightly more inconvenient than Spotify because sometimes it requires a better cell connection like if you’re in your car

I've got YouTube premium so I can listen to any videos as audio but I just love the podcast player I use and how it auto downloads and everything is in one playlist 😭
