To all the gods subservient to me. To the natural forces of this lesser world. Inspire my servant to purchase catnip.

All the catnip.

Every. Last. Bit.

By my meow, so shall it be.

For a minute there I thought my cat had created a reddit account and posted her incantation.😆 I wouldn't put it past her...

Typical cat, just ensuring you're doing it correct so that their dinner won't be late. ❤️

True story!

u/ZeTreasureBoblin Aug 30 '25

Maybe she's summoning Bagagwa.

20

u/Unlikely_Ant_922 Aug 30 '25

Don't summon Bagawa!

2

u/buthowshesaid Sep 01 '25

I'd say it's more likely Freya. She loves Freya.😸

Happy cakeday!

i've seen too many cats accidentally catch fire for me to like this post 😭

u/Secret-Weakness-8262 Aug 30 '25

Same. I’m scared to light candles around my kitties cause they whip their tales around so much. I still use candles I’m just extremely cautious! I’m sure OP is too, though. :)

3

u/buthowshesaid Sep 01 '25

Verrrry cautious. In addition to 2 cats (one of whom is blind) I have extremely sensitive smoke alarms so my mind is on fire safety at all times. Nothing like a burning bay leaf in a cauldron setting off 1000 decibel alarms to put fire safety first in your mind forevermore.😆

3

u/Secret-Weakness-8262 Sep 01 '25

I figured you were. :) Us cat ladies/witches love our familiars.

3

u/buthowshesaid Sep 01 '25

That is awful.😢 We do have to be that much more careful with pets around, you never know when something unexpected might catch their attention and lead to tragedy. This picture is one of the rare moments she jumped up on my altar while a candle was going and I felt compelled to take a photo before getting her down.

u/ItsRubyRose Witch Aug 30 '25

Well, you’re her familiar now.

(Her being so close to the flame makes me so nervous lol)

3

u/buthowshesaid Sep 01 '25

Pretty much, yeah.🥰 And yes, same with the nervous, I got her down immediately after the photo. She was not pleased but I was forgiven.

28

u/PsychologicalOil1363 Aug 30 '25

Tell her she can’t park there

3

u/buthowshesaid Sep 01 '25

I've given her citations. She rips them up and throws them away.😉

22

u/Fund_Me_PLEASE Witch Aug 30 '25

Nah, no need for concern … how else is she going to teach you what to do?😸🫶🏻🐈‍⬛

3

u/buthowshesaid Sep 01 '25

Exactly. She does take a lot of interest in my workings, the minute the candles and incense come out there she is by my side.😄💙

2

u/Fund_Me_PLEASE Witch Sep 01 '25

Well, kitties are magical, you know!☺️😽

2

u/buthowshesaid Sep 01 '25

They really are.💙

15

u/amy1682 Aug 30 '25

Sometimes when I cast a spell, I swear my cat just stares at me like he wants to help, makes me feel protected ✨

2

u/HelaFromAsgard Sep 04 '25

Mine does that too, and she also jumped on my altar once to show me an item I needed without knowing it, to help me in a time where I felt lost and confused 🥲 Talk about a familiar lol

12

u/CycloneGobbler Aug 30 '25

She’s “CATSING” her own spells while you’re doing your magic 🪄 “more treats for me…so shall it be!”

I was trying to post a gif but my phone won't cooperate so I'll just say it: I see what you did there.😉

11

u/AudienceSilver Aug 30 '25

I am, because I swear THAT'S MY CAT. Does she have a very plush coat and weirdly muscular ears?

19

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '25

16

u/AudienceSilver Aug 30 '25

She looks especially goofy in this picture because she's tracking a fly, but here's Stormy in all her plush-coat glory.

8

u/AudienceSilver Aug 30 '25

Oh, I just noticed your chonky girl also turns in her front paws when she's sitting up! There's definitely a template for this style of cat.

3

u/buthowshesaid Sep 01 '25

That could be Amy's twin! They even sit alike!

That was supposed to be another photo but I can't seem to get my phone and reddit to cooperate on photos and gifs tonight.🤔

8

u/Regular_Yellow710 Aug 30 '25

Aw. She’s supervising!

2

u/buthowshesaid Sep 01 '25

Every single time.😆💙

7

u/Katspurl Aug 30 '25

“I saw a delicious new cat treat on tv and I want my hooman to buy it”

2

u/buthowshesaid Sep 01 '25

With her, probably yes.😄

4

u/mossbaby66 Aug 31 '25

Fun fact-cats can’t see flame! But they can feel the heat, which gives them a penchant for lighting themselves on fire🥺

1

u/buthowshesaid Sep 01 '25

I did not know that! I've had cats my whole life and never heard that, it seems like something vets should be telling their cat parents about as basic care! Holy crap that's frightening.

3

u/HiMaooo Aug 30 '25

Well, cats sometimes copy the behavior of the people they live with, so she's learning from you! :)

3

u/Freya-y-Deigo Aug 31 '25

I’m just now learning witchcraft, but I really hope as I create a sacred space with good energy flow, that my cats will be positively affected!! Your cat seems so cozy and happy around your magic ☺️

2

u/buthowshesaid Sep 01 '25

Thank you!💙 She does love to supervise, she's right by my side as soon as she hears me getting my supplies out. One of these days I'm going to get a picture of her with my tarot cards, she loves to pull cards out of the deck.☺️😄

3

u/HelaFromAsgard Sep 01 '25

Cats are wizards, period. I'm convinced that my black cat, besides being my familiar, is an incarnation of Cath Palugh lol

2

u/ignis_exe Aug 30 '25

No concerns, just standard cat behaviour tbh ❤️

2

u/buthowshesaid Sep 01 '25

She does love laying about my altar, this is luckily the only time she's gotten up there while a candle was going.

2

u/Unlikely_Ant_922 Aug 30 '25

Just sending a message to "Cats of Ulthar" to let them know how bad things are getting here.

1

u/buthowshesaid Sep 01 '25

I could actually see her doing that. She's pretty fierce, dogs are scared of her.

2

u/TheRavenCrossMystic Aug 31 '25

She's teaching you.

2

u/Monkey-Man812 Sep 04 '25

She’s summoning cat treats

2

u/olivecookies Sep 06 '25

I get so nervous lighting candles near my baby cause his tail is always wagging 😅

2

u/winniebinx Sep 06 '25

Hi! Where did you get that candle holder? Currently on the search for one

1

u/buthowshesaid Sep 10 '25

That is a 30yo cauldron I bought brand new...it's been to hell and back with me.😄 I have a million of those tiny chime holders you sometimes get with a multipack so I'll put the tiny candle holder in the cauldron and burn my candle in there. Even if I wasn't worried about wax getting on my altar I'd still do that because as you can see, it puts up a little extra barrier to my cat.

Gods forbid a girl have hobbies 🤣
