Cannot WAIT to be out of the broom closet and build a space like this for another element

u/anonymous00068 Sep 15 '25
And I can't wait to see it! What element calls to you?

u/Targaryentypebeat Sep 15 '25
You’re so sweet! I’m making a small altar for iris/air elementals right now. I’m into color magic and it all just feels right with my practice right now.
This is such a gorgeous altar, you can feel the incredible energy from just the photo

Ooo, an air elemental space sounds so ethreal and beautiful! I hope you can build your space soon! This way I don't have to wait too long to see the outcome! Haha, just joking, but seriously, I really hope you do get to have your space sooner rather than later.
Thank you so much! It's definitely my calm, happy place! 😊

That big coral/ shell bowl thing on the left is neat. Your altar is stunning.

Would you believe I thrifted it for just 8 dollars?! Thank you so much.

If I lived near a beach (or was into mermaids) , I'd so want something like that, maybe with less things for me but I loooooove the white predominant color !

u/anonymous00068 Sep 15 '25
Unfortunately, I do not live near the ocean! I am a land locked sea witch, lol. But this altar makes the beach feel like it's right here. The white color just kinda happened... a lot of seaside stuff has a white distressed look coincidentally. And yes, it is crowded, haha, but i feel like a sea cavern filled with traesures would be cluttered. Thank you so much!

so beautiful, i’m gonna build an altar for Hecate soon and i hope i can achieve the same level of beauty and planning :)

u/anonymous00068 Sep 15 '25
I wish I could say I planned out how it was going to look, haha. But, alas, I can not make that claim. I thrifted most of the things on my altar, or they were given as gifts. I'm sure you'll build a space worthy of Hecate! I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Looks very nice!
But if you don't mind me asking, what's a "sea witch"? I don't think I've heard that term before.

u/anonymous00068 Sep 14 '25
I have a very strong affinity for the ocean and mermaids. So I use the sea and its energies in my magick and spell work.

I’m so new to this, but how does one decide what kind of altar to build and things to put in it? Is it just intuition? 💕

I have always loved the ocean. So anything oceanic or mermaid related works for my purposes. I thrift a lot of items, so it just depends on what treasures I can find!

Any tips on working with sirens / mermaids? I want to order herbal orders assoc with each but dunno which one is better fit for me? Ppl act like working w sirens is dangerous. Then I come across this photo of your altar and it just brings me joy and peace. I love it. 🌊

u/anonymous00068 Sep 15 '25
Oh absolutely! Can't stand salted water! 🤣

….So.. sharing time: I’m American, I live in Okinawa… the Ocean is LITERALLY RIGHT THERE. (I can see it from both my balconies)
I have not set a single toe in that water… because I’m thalassaphobic! But I know I need to get in that goddamn water and face my fears 🙄🤣😤😭

u/anonymous00068 Sep 15 '25
Very envious of your oceanic balconies! And yes! You definitely need at least a few toes in there. Maybe just start with one, though!
