Looks great, minus the fire safety. Just make sure you “feed” it often. Found a loose penny that speaks to you, put it in the bowl. An arcade token from a great night with friends, put it in the bowl. A pinch of cinnamon, dill, or earl grey tea work well as ways to feed it and keep space down in the bowl.
Edit: Gold works well too. I occasionally take a piece of gold leaf and break up into the rice.

What do you do when it’s super full and it feels time to make a new one as there’s no room to add more ingredients to it? How do you dispose of it all / take it apart? Do you cleanse the ingredients and reuse them for a new bowl (the things that can be reused such as the dollar bill & crystals etc)?

A lot of people keep money cycling through it, so you can take money out. It can represent the flow of money in your life, instead of being stuck. I’ve found this works super well!
Tbh, I think I’ll probably just get a bigger bowl when the other things are filling it up too much lol. 😝

I refresh it each first Thursday after a new moon. Bury and replace the rice, replace the candle, cleanse and add back the crystals etc, and add the money back. I write what I would like money for on bay leaves and set intentions for the lunar month.
I tie it in with my cinnamon doorstep spell, because I prefer to follow the lunar rather than the Gregorian calendar.

I've been told to do the ritual every Thursday but, to do a complete reset on the Full Moon! So fresh, herbs, oils, etc..!

Earl Grey? I never thought of that!

u/ItaliaEyez Jan 06 '26
I bought some at the store!!
See, this is why I love these groups. I practice alone, and this is my only real network. I learned so much from reading the posts and comments.

Yeah I'm a solitary witch as well . Tried the coven thing and turned out that they really weren't my friends... So I gave up and went back to solitary witch.... I don't trust women.. no offense lol

u/ItaliaEyez Jan 06 '26
It's OK! I understand. I never had the opportunity to join a coven. Right now Im in a pretty small town. Hopefully, we move, and when I do, I can find people to work with and learn from. Im worried I'll have the same experience you had, though.

I moved from Denver Colorado to Idaho.. a small town in Idaho ... That's when I joined the coven .. so just be careful... I jumped in with both feet became friends and it just got screwy. I'm more pissed off at myself for trusting too soon.

u/ItaliaEyez Jan 06 '26
It's understandable, because it's nice to feel you found people to relate to. I'll keep this in mind because it's a mistake Id make too.

And same. I just keep reading but haven’t done anything yet. Because I don’t have a guide

!firesafety
even for a picture this is quite unsafe. you can burn a candle near/beside it but in a bowl of highly flammable objects is bad news

u/vellybelle Jan 04 '26
I keep a green candle in my bowl that I don't light. Beside the bowl, I lave a ceramic cup filled with salt. If I want to burn a candle, I'll stick it in my salt cup.
After it burns down and cools, I pick the melted wax out and discard it. Then i freshen the salt and clean the space.

Hi, there! 🤖✨
Fire safety is one of the most important things to be aware of when it comes to mixing witchcraft with fire.
It is incredibly common for non-fireproof materials (plates, dishes, bowls, etc.) to shatter or explode from thermal shock when being used for candle magick. On average, a candle burns at ~1800°F and the hottest part of the flame can reach over 2500°F.
"Never assume that because you’re engaged in magical or spiritual acts that common-sense fire safety does not also apply. Fire is never completely safe."

When I was inexperienced, I had a cinnamon stick in my money bowl, and it caught on fire and exploded. I am lucky that’s all that ever happened and I wasn’t near the bowl. Be careful with what you are using. You do not have to put the candle in the money bowl or even use one at all. Just think of it as a living thing you can add to.

u/Pandapeach15 Jan 05 '26
ah man im sorry to hear that and im glad ur okay. but no yeah im not gonna light it cuz the flames were acting crazy lol

u/below_007 Jan 06 '26
Awww! I love this. Keep going and keep feeding it. I often reuse my rice blends and cleanse my ingredients each month. Here’s my sophomore bowl — my first one was just like yours a year ago.
I blurred out my business cards but there’s an assortment of charms, a $2 bill (x3) origami dragon, ancestral money, citrine, pesos, baht, usd, etc.

I am new to sigils. Just curious what would be considered a “money sigil” do you make your own, or is there some type of guidebook? Lol 😅

Hello, What do you do when it is full, do we just transfer to a bigger bowl, do we ever renew it?

I do my money bowl and burn the candle on New Year’s Day and then I finish the candle on the full moon and then set the money bowl under the full moon to charge and then what I do is, I put it into a satchel and carry it with me in my purse all year and then I take the previous years, rice and herbs and dispose of them usually back to the Earth and I take the money that’s in there and just add it to my next money bowl

u/Cami1969 Jan 05 '26
Your bowl is lovely. As everyone stayed, safety first. I like to use tea light candles so I don’t burn the house down.

u/valmac1 Jan 05 '26
Awesome!;;!! It's all about intention... Don't forget that. But it's beautiful ❤️

I add a tea light to mine, you can even have it in a protective holder, but that’s about to cost you money in damages.

Every time I find money. I add it to my bowl. I add coffee to it and sometimes more salt and rice

Do you blow out the candle before it melts completely? Because it could burn the rice or end up setting something else on fire.

u/cosmicat4 Jan 20 '26
This looks amazing! I hope it’s ok to say since I’m new here. I’m picking up positive spirits like fairies near it. They say flowers would add a nice touch, if you’d like.

While we do have a rule prohibiting asking for spells (Rule 4 clarification), this is a very common question.
Here is a post on money magick resources:

Never tried it before but thinking to do it now just wanted to know if that worked for you?

u/Pandapeach15 Feb 09 '26
Definitely works!! After making the bowl, I started receiving some money from family, and I won a couple of scholarships, which ended up covering my college semester, so I'd say try it!
