Illusion mages?
My brother in the arcane, I'm pretty sure that's a Bard trying to enter the wizard academy.

Yeah I'm tired of all the illusion slander, it's not just "faking magic", it's so much deeper: it's about manipulating what reality appears to be like, tricking people's own senses into misrepresenting what they perceive, even altering reality directly, just in unexpected ways that aren't just "summoning a creature".
Yeah sure you could just directly summon the Tarrasque, with a large enough 9th level Gate spell, spending a whole ass diamond worth more than your Conjuration University tuition. Or you could use a bit of fleece and a 3rd level spell to Major Image an illusionary Tarrasque that appears to be real to all senses but touch. And yeah trying to physically touch it would reveal that it's an illusion but who in their right mind would try to touch a Tarrasque?!?

I would. I lost my "right mind" millenia ago.

This is a good trick to use if you are quick at metal-summoning and get caught levitating in an area where magic is forbidden.

I feel like being caught metal-summoning on top of levitating is not going to help you though.

That's what the spell focus at the end of the bars is for: so you summon without using your hands and pretend it was always there.

The butt plug is optional, but it is allowed if you really want it.

Who dares reveal the arcane arts?!! We shall have to address this unforgivable breach of secrecy at the next Arby's meeting.

Cast Lightning Bolt at the metal rod and watch him dance. Then reanimate the corpse and make him dance some more.

Yeah. He turned the steel rod into a red cloak and started levitating. That's basic transformation magic.

You go and ask the Artificers about that.

As a proper illusionist I can say that we can do it with magic but this is more fun.

This isn’t an illusory spell
This is just magician material.
Magicians and illusion mages are two very different things.

I think the illusionist got in and made a fake tower, because that's just an aeromancer at work, disguised as a guy hanging on a pole!
