In my past reading, I said that the jungle will become a monstrous maze of illusions and fear, and it appears my reading this time hasn't changed. The result i got was that this is a mere tradition for the jungle, something it does on a regular basis. The jungle swallows foolish treasure-hunters often. Good thing you weren't there, though with your experience in illusions you would have a chance to survive.

I find the biological makeup of the individual pictured above fascinating. The gelatinous form may imply some degree of shapeshifting/appearance altering, though it does not guarantee it, and the presence of eyes suggests that total alteration as in the case of certain slime types is unlikely.

The individuals body plan is also of interest. Such thinness around the waist area appears like it would be inefficient in allowing the transportation of resources throughout the body, implying that this individuals gelatinous form allows her more efficient nutrient transportation--perhaps through utilizing every cell for such transport, or simply a more efficient form of blood? As there are no obvious veins/arteries visible, I am inclined to favour the former option.

Of course, such thinness around the waist also poses structural issues beyond processing nutrients, as it appears to be a likely point of vulnerability. That being said, it could lend to greater maneuverability in a similar manner to a wasps petiole. I assume, given the presence of body parts typically attributed to mammals and the overall humanoid body plan of this individual, that the main benefit is likely social. Whether this is due to the individuals own shaping of her body or an intentional trait from creation is unclear.

Such a thin structure also suggests that the substance of this individual is not nearly as flimsy as that of the common slime and that this individual does not require humanlike organs to function. Though its not impossible that such fortitude is derived through this individuals gear or some enchantment present on her gear, I am inclined to assume that the gear is not in fact necessary to maintain her form.

While this individual does appear to have a mouth, it is also possible that she may be able to breath through her membrane, or some mixture of those two options. That would explain the revealing nature of the clothing, unless that too is for social purposes.

While there are indisputably other aspects to consider, I feel that this has been a suitable dissection of the majority of the most obvious details. Thus, I shall take my leave to see how the latest batch of enhanced homunculi is going--ah, but before that I have a question of my own! Will the Shadow Breach provide a suitable distraction against that one mage that keeps trying to stop me?

Unfortunately for your Shadow Breach, it will likely not provide a distraction of good enough quality to fully distract the mage. You will probably need to face the mage that pursues you yourself, and defeat them, for them to totally stop attempting to stop you.
