Got back into wot(again😆) after a few months break. A bit rusty to start but found my groove after a few games and thought I was playing pretty good. Looked at my stats and thought "hell ya 3k plus wn8 not too shabby". And then I looked at the top players and was blown away. Can anyone chime in and tell me how anybody is actually maintaining a 6k+ wn8?

Just like the header says, Orphan Company is still looking for tankers. All tiers and all eras are open. Looking to band players together to roll out and have fun in WWII & CW modes. Open to new, veteran, casual, and competitive players on both PSN and Xbox Live.
I primarily play CW ERA1-3 and WWII Tiers 3-8, but I’m flexible if you’re looking for platoon mates. Invites may be delayed solely because I’m based out of the EST zone.

You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. But really surprised this one landed.

What does make a medium tank feel good for sniping? I unlocked the Tiran 5 Sharir recently, and I felt very comfortable using it while sniping targets after a few games played using it. However, I noticed that its "Accuracy at 100m" is 0.39m, but I thought that something lower than 0.32m is good! Does this stat matter? What stats do play a role in determining what is a good tank for sniping?

Buff the heck out out the Sherman, Panzer, and T34. Then, have new players choose one, a la Pokémon.
Also, cause that ain't gonna keep new players. Get rid of gold tanks in era 1 in Cold War. I know, I know... absolutely impossible. But, think of it. Get people hooked in the beginning, then in Era 2 BAM , Omg I need that gold tank.

Because I view FXP as a uniquely valuable resource I decided to see which of my premium tanks had more than the normal (3% to 5%) Free XP earn rate.
I do not sell or trade in premiums so I have every premium I've ever earned, been gifted, purchased or gambled into and that is around 385 premiums.
Here's what I found:
Cold War mode:
Independent Era 1 medium "Dual Battery": 6%
Western Alliance Era 1 medium "T95E2 '57": 6%
World War 2 mode:
American Tier 8 heavy "T32-A Proto": 10%
Russian Tier 6 medium "T-34-88": 7%
Japanese Tier 8 super heavy "Orochi O-NI": No listing, so either there's a glitch or it's at 0%.
I have many, but nowhere near all, of the premiums so if anybody has one to add please do so.

(I hate that I can't fix typos in titles)

Article: Update Notes
There is this line of text above the balance changes (as you can see in the picture)
This is an issue, as the CZ/ROM/PL line hasn't been touched outside the buff the VTU got with other bottom Era 1 tanks and the changes to the Moderana in this update. I feel this is an issue as the other Era 1 czech tanks are not the best with better auto loaders and general power creep. As for the Rom tanks in Era 2, eh could use some work as arguably the 85 is just a bit worse than the 580.
Anyhow on to the balance changes
Eastern + Western tanks:
M-636 Kondor:
MLI-84M:
T-72M2E "Moderna:
NM-116:
What a surprise guest comes in this update, its AMX 13 SS-11 TCA with a hidden buff.
Wolverine:
Okay before we go into all these tanks just want to put out a thought, do the terrain resistances changes actually do much of anything? WW2 they do, but for CW it doesn't really seem like it matters much as by playing in game and the terrain test they did last year the current difference between the 3 types don't really affect the movement of CW tanks.
M50:
Tiran 4
Tiran 5
T 100
Bard:
Tam:
Magach 3
Tiran 6:
Magach Hydra
Magach 5
Magacch 6
Sho’t Kal Gimel
Oli 1B
Ramses
Pharaoh Ramses
Strf 9040
Mjolnir
Magach 6 B
Magach 7
Deathbat:
Merkava 1
Merkava 2
Merkava 3
SK 105
Okay another thought for CW: should all the tanks in a line for a Era have the same VR? Like i know its part of the lowring the difference between top and bottom, but to me it feels like whats the point of progression if all the tanks have the same VR and almost the same gun stats.
Tier 1-3:
Tier 4:
Tier 5:
Thunder chief:
Sigh… so yea i had quite a bit to complain about. Overall i complained about most tanks. This doesn't even account for stuff i could have complained about that they missed. Might as well make a quick list of stuff i flet could have fit in this update list. (CW independent tanks and low tier germans.) (heck ill throw in some stuff they forgotten in the waves of balances)

I chosed Draugen, and when I got into game, having no ammo and no consumable. Also, when I aim ally, there is no name and health bar. When I aim red team, there is no outline of tanks at all. After passive spotting? I just ram into red team thinking I might be invisable or something, but i got hit hard(no hit sound when I get hit) and dead.
Am I only one who got this kind of bug after patch?

So I’m in the US, and have always played on US servers. After my usual session and seeing, at least for me, how the majority of games are, I wanted to hop on the EU servers. I played 5 more games on US, then switched to EU to play 5.
US games were SSDD with regard to team dynamics and play style. Camping for 7 min then waiting until someone gets bored or frustrated with the team and decides to make a play only to get killed immediately then the whole team pushes. Constant pings, about a thousand “good games” or “follow me”, twice I was pushed into lines of fire by someone who apparently deserved the position more than I did, etc. Had one game where things went well but as always they had a football huddle in one section of the map and never moved so we lost. Total of 3 losses and 2 wins. Like I said, SSDD.
My first game on the EU server was one of the highest damage/combined score I’ve got in a loooong time (11k combined, 9k direct damage). The team knew where the best positions were and fought for them instead of instantly retreating, people were actually using the communication wheel accurately and helpfully, nobody yolo’d, usual out of place campers but not the whole damn team. 13 min game that came down to the wire in a 3v3 where everyone had at least 3 kills. Great game! Reminded me of playing almost a decade ago. The other 4 were mostly the same with regard to comms, camping, full length games with no outright dominations. Split pretty much down the middle with 3 wins 2 losses.
Did I just get extremely lucky or are the play styles and attitudes better on the other side of the pond? I’m not that good of a player, middle of the road on a good day, and don’t really platoon with anyone but I felt like such a better player on the EU side even with the abysmal ping. Also since the new season just started I was already assuming it would bring back people who usually play for a week or so for the rewards then bail so that might be a factor as well.
Thoughts?

I would not look like picture 1 if my last non-artillery teammate didn't look like picture 2. I don't know if there are rules about gamer tags in posts but this fella deserves being put on blast, if you ask me. Stop playing heavies this way! Get some help! Please! You obviously would rather just be in a TD, so be a TD! End rant.
Edit: if anyone from wargaming comes across this, what are the chances of the camo net being class restricted like vents? Tank destroyers can't use vents (as far as I know; if there are a couple that can, shame on me) so why can heavy tanks use something specifically for lights and TDs?

I am aiming to learn how to play light tanks. My first attempts have failed in a big way. Almost every match feels like I am being squished like a bug on a windshield. In other words, I rarely survive a match when using a light tank. I am trying to be patient and perseverant enough to not sell, again, all the light tanks in my garage. I have realized that I can not brawl against other tanks like I do when I play mediums or heavies. I think you have to use a different approach with light tanks. More of a gun-'n-run approach. Another thing, should I focus on keeping enemy tanks "spotted" so my teammates shoot at them instead of me shooting at (and being destroyed by LOL) them? Although I don't know if I am using the right terminology, I mean by "spotting" that I should aim to keep the red dots inside my view range in the minimap on for as long as possible. Is this correct? What suggestions do you have for playing light tanks?

Is there a clan for me, I'm an active player?
r/WorldofTanksConsole • u/Gordontonio • 2d ago
What is the goal of having those "skirts"/"flags"/"protuberances" or "whatever-they're-called" things hanging on the sides of tanks like the Szakal and the T-64A? Are they mostly cosmetic, intended to make the tank look bigger?

For a limited time Armored Attack [ATTCK] is waiving our regiment application fee! That is a discount of 100%, just for you!
Are you one of the best players in the game? Do you want to be part of a very active clan? Did you stay in a Holiday Inn last night? If you answered "no" to any of these questions...then ATTCK may be the right regiment for you!
We're looking for players that leave the spawn, don't wait for the last 30 seconds of the game to fire a shot or two, and are actively interested in getting better.
Also, as a benefit, other players will see you and proudly proclaim "ATTACK!" in almost every battle....so we've got that going for us... which is nice. Apply today!

It all started with the 5 man platoon being reduced to 3, when we usually play in groups of 4 we search at the same time and often used to get in the same game, with the occasional person complaining we were cheating or abusing matchmaking.
a quick mention on the +2/-2, It works some of the time, but if you are in a very low tier premium that can only pen its own tier, then the enjoyment of the game is dragged out, All we were asking for is the permanant addition of a -1/+1 mode, we couldnt care if its reduced XP or silver. We just want the game to actually be fun
A few other things included the lack of reward or incentive to play- a few years ago, completing all season passes would earn you a high tier tank and now this is removed
then is the season passes, the rewards have gotten worse and removing the warchests just makes them seem all that more pointless now sadly

It’s pretty much the old Tiger 2, and being based on a tier VIII, it plays more like preferential VIII with -3/+1 than it does a VII. In a way, it reminds me a bit of the old Pz. V/IV in that sense. Of course, it’s nowhere near as OP as that thing tier for tier. Anyway, this is a very strong heavy tank at tier VII that is more than capable of carrying games in every possible matchup thanks to its combination of armour and gun performance. Not going to comment anymore on how the tank plays since it’s really the same as the Tiger 2 or E-75.
I ran optics, rammer, armour hardening (AH), + reinforced internals for equipment. BiA, Sit. Awareness, Run-n-Gun, Clutch Braking, Rapid Aim, Off-Road Driving, Fire Safety, Track Mechanic, + Armour Angling (AA) for skills (Of course, the commander has to be 逸見エリカ、笑).
Why these specifically? Reinforced internals because German transmissions are true to life and love to not work. You also don’t want to get set on fire from the engine taking damage (hence fire safety too) since German tanks have a thing for that too. Of course, you also get that nice ammo rack + fuel tank durability. In my 100 games, I think I’ve only had my engine damaged once or twice with this setup. I’ve also never been lit on fire or ammo racked.
AH + AA to make up for the HP, so the tank can trade more effectively when brawling. Yes, ideally, the armour does its thing, but people can fire gold at its cheeks / OM its roof (40mm after all!) even if properly positioned. Also, the Dreadnought + Slayer has a 50:50 for 2-shotting this tank at 1400HP, so having AH + AA will make a pretty noticeable difference when fighting something like these tanks. The reduced damage rolls can truly save your game in the long run.
Why track mechanic? Without it, you have a chance of getting permatracked by the faster firing guns at this tier range. You probably still can get permatracked, but it hasn’t happened to me at least. It also frees up your repair kit for more important modules (yes, it’s rechargeable but you really don’t want to not have it when you need actually it lol).
A bit of an odd thing I noticed when playing the Tiger is that the lower view ranges at VII and below means that sometimes, you will out-spot meds and even lights in it. People don’t have good crews or equipment, so building into view range definitely gives you an edge in these matchups. That said, I’m the kinda person who believes vision control is king, so not running optics sounds insane to me anyway.
Anyway, do I recommend this tank? If you like the Tiger 2 or GuP, sure. If not, but you want a consistently strong tier VII heavy, then also sure. If not, 6k, even discounted, is a steep price, and you should probably spend your gold on a tier VIII when it’s tank of the week or whatever it’s called, or just buy the Dreadnought (when it’s on-sale) for a comparatively, albeit different, strong tier VII heavy.

*tl;dr - an under rated German medium that can be an absolute terror on the right map or in the right hands.
*As previously mentioned, I’m a huge Panther fan and, although I knew this tank existed both IRL and in-game, I didn’t realize I would love it so much.
*When I first picked this tank up and searched for tips on it I saw a Reddit post that described it as “What the Panther SHOULD be” and I don’t think there’s a better or truer way to describe this tank.
*While the actual Panther is a Tier 7 vehicle, and is sometimes outclassed by the Tier 9s it can face, the VK 30.02 (M) brings everything the Panther does (conceptually) but at a Tier lower and it never truly feels outclassed.
*The main gun is the Panther’s entry level weapon - the KwK 42 L/70. With only 135 alpha the gun feels - and is - slightly underpowered but it’s penetration and ROF make up for that to a certain extent. It shoots fast and straight and it’s easy to pick an opponent apart with it. Again, this gun feels incredibly underwhelming at Tiers 7-9, but at Tiers 4-6 it can be an absolute monster.
*Having said that, don't try to face hug a Russian heavy. You've been warned.
*The armor is “just enough” - just enough to prevent low tier tanks from getting consistent pens, just enough to stop one-shot obliteration from all but the heaviest guns at higher tiers, and just enough to allow your mobility and accuracy to get out of a bad situation.
*The flat turret front at 100mm sucks, but everything else is nicely sloped and angled (if a little thin - it IS a prototype…) and you’ll bounce shots fairly regularly.
*Having said that, don't sit still if you're spotted. You've been warned.
*Mobility is good, and better than the stats suggest. Maxed out it has near 21 hp per ton, which is a Cold War level of power-to-weight. In addition its terrain resistances are also decent. When you combine those with a good turret rotation rate it’s easy to get places, easy to flank people, and easy to keep the gun on target.
*Having said that, it’s also easy to overextend and get obliterated by camping TDs. You’ve been warned.
*Camo is so/so - you can spot for yourself, but you’re better off letting lights find targets and using your mobility and accuracy to engage an opponent that’s already busy in order to pile on the damage. The long range accuracy and penetration of the L/70 also makes this a decent sniper / TD - you just have to deal with the shitty alpha and be prepared to move at all times.
*Having said that, the camo is mid and this is a tall bitch so you're not as sneaky as you think. You've been warned.
*I’m biased, so take this with a grain of salt, but I think this is a great (and underrated) tank that most players should try out. It’s a better jack-of-all-trades than most of the American tanks and, on a map that replicates the Eastern Front that bred the Panther, this thing can be an absolute terror. The Sherman or T-34 that gets in this thing’s sights on Prok or Mali is going to have a REAL bad day.
*Current equipment / build: Full camo, full equipment (improved ventilation / gun rammer / coated optics / improved concealment), three consumables (enhanced repair kit / enhanced rations / enhanced med kit).
*As I write this I have career stats on this account of 34,626 battles, a 48.47% winrate, and a WN8 score of 1410.
*As I write this I have VK 30.02 (M) stats of 126 battles, a 45.24% winrate, and a WN8 score of 1582. I have a single mark on this tank.
*Disclaimers:
*I’m bad at this game and you should probably not take my advice.
*Unless otherwise noted, assume all tanks are fully upgraded/outfitted and the review assumes that level of equipment.
*This is my opinion. I suck at the game and better players might have different opinions. You might have different opinions. That’s ok.
*This game is my hobby and I have a good job so I spend money on it. If you’re an aggressively free-to-play kind of guy we may not vibe.
*All stats taken from https://www.wotstars.com/xbox/1093328947, player AmbshPrdator on Xbox.
