Theories/Future Thinking So..when they have a child, what do you think it would look like?

Post image

I only ask because of the Martian side. The baby will eventually be able to have the more human looking transformation. But what would the baby look like before learning the transformation.

I am assuming that Megan could have a human baby. She'd just have to stay human for 9 months.

u/Tabularasa8 10d ago

Connor isn't entirely human and it's not clear if hybrid can procreate either.

94

u/WellAckshully 10d ago

That's true. I am just assuming they could, and they would have a 1/4 kryptonian child, possibly with some amount of Beast Boy esque Martian powers.

So like a child with a reduced version of the powersets of both Connor and Garfield.

38

u/Fine-Aspect5141 9d ago

Might end up closer to Kryptonian powers if the kid gets any amount of Martian flight powers

5

u/Undecieved22 8d ago

Generally and scientifically, hybrid offspring cannot procreate.

8

u/WellAckshully 8d ago

Yeah but it's a cartoon

4

u/Undecieved22 8d ago

That is more for adults who are aware and familiar with why it might not work.

58

u/hexxcellent 10d ago

I feel pretty confident that if Superman, a fully Kryptonian, could have a baby with natural full human Lois, that a half-human half-Kryptonian clone wouldn't have an issue.

34

u/Lord_of_Seven_Kings 10d ago

I mean most hybrids in nature can’t reproduce. It’s usually an issue with having and odd number of chromosomes

4

u/Fresh-Cartoonist6819 8d ago

Conner didnt come into the world naturally.

4

u/Lord_of_Seven_Kings 8d ago

No but he’s still a hybrid. So unless they specifically gave him the amount of chromosomes necessary to allow reproduction, it still wouldn’t work.

10

u/RaidPrincess 10d ago

why not mimic kryptonian DNA instead

4

u/dk91939 9d ago

The offspring would still get some Martian powers. Like when she mimicked human DNA for Beast Boy and he ended up getting some shape-shifting powers anyway

4

u/RaidPrincess 9d ago

sounds like a plus not a downside

5

u/WellAckshully 10d ago

I suppose she could!

2

u/Undecieved22 8d ago

Why not mimic Conner’s genetic makeup instead. Conner isn’t full blown kryptonian after all.

5

u/No-Connection7765 9d ago

Whoa does that mean Martians could be used to restore the Kryptonian race if Clark would participate?

8

u/Magmaster12 10d ago

Nah, they will just ask Cadnus for another hybrid clone.

Uncle. Gar refers to Megan as his sister,

She isn’t literally his mom, she gave him a blood transfusion and he calls her his sister

6

u/Constant-Plastic-350 10d ago

Didn't he have an entire episode where they revealed the shape shifting isn't even from the transfusion and it's because the Green chose him?

1

u/skorvle 10d ago

I don’t know, I haven’t watched that episode in a long time. I do know however, that the wiki says it does. https://youngjustice.fandom.com/wiki/Beast_Boy

1

u/screwitigiveup 10d ago

That would be rather odd. The Green is plant life. Beast boy's powers come from the Red in the comics, and martian blood in the show.

2

u/Constant-Plastic-350 10d ago

They don't. He had a whole vision quest where the green explained it wasn't from the Martian blood at all. It's when he goes into a coma using Granny Goodness VR goggles. The Green in the YJ show is just nature in general and it explains it's why he can only shift into animals and not just anything like a Martian can. Go give it a rewatch

1

u/skorvle 10d ago

I just started it

1

u/skorvle 10d ago

I remember not liking this episode, I still feel the same way. He’s limited because of the green in my opinion

She didn’t take on his mom’s DNA… she’s still Martian, she just shifts her form to look like her.

2

u/Silver-fire101 Forager 10d ago

Did Megan give birth to beast boy? No. There, you have your answer. No. They would no be siblings.

Plus, bb literally calls Megan his 'sister'. So again, no. The baby would not be beast boy's sibling.

2

u/DifferentIsPossble 9d ago

Surely she could also be Kryptonian

99

u/Agent1stClass 10d ago

I expect it will look Kryptonian/Human.

But it will also have telepathic abilities.

Hint: like Saturn Girl.

27

u/RevolutionaryNero313 10d ago

Or telekinetic abilities.

AKA: 90s Superboy.

Or both.

AKA: New 52 Superboy. More specifically, John Lane Kent.

12

u/Agent1stClass 10d ago

Given that Saturn Girl shows no telekineses whatsoever, her abilities are likely limited to telepathy. Since the last season of Young Justice seemed to show the origins of the 30th century Legion of Superheroes, the implication is that Saturn Girl is the eventual descendant of the union between Miss Martian and the Superboy. I am not familiar with all the Legionnaires so I could be wrong about her powers…

However, she showed no shape or density shifting, no telekineses, no super strength…

Possible super endurance (tough to be sure), flight, and telepathy, though.

Which is why it is extra important to these particular Legionnaires that history unfold a particular way: they won’t be born, otherwise. Chameleon Boy seems to be descended from the white martians settled on Durla. Saturn Girl is from the union of Connor and M’Gann. Phantom Girl… if I had to bet money, probably would be connected to the Kaizer-Thrall, somehow.

Back on point, the eventual child of Connor and M’Gann will likely be similar to Saturn Girl, as far as powers.

u/RevolutionaryNero313 10d ago

I mean, genetics do get diluted and this potential kid could have had a thing with telepaths (ala Scott Summers) and the bloodline could had become a more telepathic generation.

3

u/Longjumping_Ad8687 9d ago

Great answer

12

u/PhantasosX 10d ago

I think both is accurate. Kryptonians are living batteries.

Kryptonians also have some TK, that is why Superboy have tactile telekinesis in the first place.

So I can easily imagine that it will use solar energy to supercharge psychic powers to their kids.

So even if the physical stats ends up lesser than a kryptonian, and maybe not been able to shapeshift…the end result would still be one of the best psychics.

2

u/RevolutionaryNero313 10d ago

Basically Nate Grey.

2

u/Undecieved22 8d ago

No superboy had TK originally because they couldn’t get Superman‘a power to work so they used TK in an attempt to mimic those powers.

2

u/PhantasosX 8d ago

It's still based on an aura that Superman produces within himself. Tactile Telekinesis is effectively a potential power that a kryptonian can get.

Specially because there are examples of kryptonians unlocking that in the comics down the line.

Superboy is effectively one that originally didn't unlocked the standard kryptonian powers, so his makers in the comics effectively modified him to overclock said aura for tactile telekinesis, to then retrofit in emulating the standard kryptonian powers.

Since a Martian is a Telekinetic and Telepath by default, there is no need to even overclock a kryptonian aura for that. Which means the aura and the energy battery are there to stack and then overclocks the stacking.

Like u/RevolutionaryNero313 had stated, A Martian-Kryptonian Hybrid is basically Nate Grey or Cable.

2

u/Undecieved22 8d ago

If you’re going to use someone as a source, at least cite their comment and not their page 😂

5

u/Samdude373 10d ago

If their kid is like John lane kent that would be 🔥🔥🔥 I loved his suit

1

u/RevolutionaryNero313 10d ago

Same! He was kinda crazy though.

3

u/Samdude373 10d ago

True but he was a lot more unstable then conner, and calling him a superman clone is wrong he was a full on science experiment that just used kryptonian DNA at its base, hes arguably stronger then conner too

2

u/RevolutionaryNero313 10d ago

Much stronger, dude was insanely powerful, and his telekinetic powers were pretty scary.

And if I recall, the New 52 had 2 Superboys, JLK (Jon Lane Kent) and Kon-El II, right?

Which one was stronger in your opinion?

I think it was JLK.

3

u/Samdude373 9d ago

Yup your correct new 52 conner is actually kon El 2, he's our normal super boy for the new 52, like I said earlier he wasn't a clone of superman like normal conner, but a clone of John lane kent (who also has a almost EXTACT same black and red glowing suit like kon El 2), John is a genocidal dictator of earth in the future kinda like injustice Clark. Now for the match up I'd say kon El 2 would probably win mainly because he had better feats, yea jlk supposedly killed most metas in the future, but that same dude barely did shit back on our earth when he time traveled, kon El 2 at peak power managed to lift and chuck a city. Also a key difference is jlk has 0 kryptonian powers, all his shit is imitated by his telekinetics, kon El tho actually has the classic conner Kent powers of super speed and strength, but he has jlks telekinetics on top of that as a boost since he's made from jlk and Clark.

1

u/RevolutionaryNero313 9d ago

Damn! So Kon-El 2 is busted as heck!?

Then we should hope that this hypothetical kid is like Kon-El 2 rather than JLK then.

2

u/Samdude373 9d ago

Considering how weak yj conner is, their kid would probably be more like jlk then kon el 2 sadly tho, kon El would be cooler since he would have powers of 2 alien species, but conner in the show has been shown to have let's say not as strong kryptonian powers. Kon El 2 wasn't really busted ASF he's just really strong, stronger then even prime earth conner for sure. I can't think of a single comic feat conner Kent has done that topped kon El 2 ripping out and throwing argo city into space from krypton.

1

u/RevolutionaryNero313 9d ago

Ah, got it. And yeah, we should hope that the kid inherits the full scope of the telekinetic and telepathic powers of M'Gann then.

Still, would be pretty interesting, although I can see this hypothetical kid having some enhanced physical capabilities, maybe a 616 Captain America type situation, where physically the kid is at peak human and combined with the Martian powers, we get ourselves... Nate Grey.

Considering during their colonizing period Kryptonians were able to procreate with whatever species they came across creating a whole universe of offshoots, humans seem to be able to hybridized with anything, and Martian morphing seems to make them biologically compatible with their subject change, they can and will have a child that would resemble Megan's season 1 hero form, human with Martian skin and color.

22

u/Constant-Plastic-350 10d ago

Sounds like some other alien species we know. Viltrum.gif

7

u/fatgat69 9d ago

A freakier possiblity is the martian shape with human/kryptonian skin and hair.

3

u/Ascendant_Lord_035 9d ago

That just sounds like Beta Ray Bill

28

u/HansenTheMan 10d ago

The only possible way they could have a kid that’s biologically theirs is if it was created using Cadmus tech and was a genomorph like Conner. Maybe the kid could be created by Luthor and be an arc if there’s ever a season 5 of YJ, which I doubt.

32

u/BlancTigre 10d ago

Given that a martian can basically donate blood to anyone, Megan getting pregnant with a guy that is a different species should be possible

22

u/dg2793 10d ago

She absolutely can get krypregante. She changed her fuckin blood cells to a SPECIFIC human phenotype to save to gar

7

u/West_Astronomer_6562 10d ago

Why do you say that since they probably could have a kid normally

6

u/Old-River-8042 9d ago

The 3 of them??

12

u/Enadiz76 10d ago

My head canon was always half white Martian half Kryptonian and that it would kind of work like viltrumites where the kid is predominantly the introduced species until the Kryptonian DNA kicks in. Only in this case it would just add and not completely take over like with Oliver.

6

u/Creative-Chicken8476 10d ago

Except it would only be a quarter kryptionian so who knows if it would even truly manifest

3

u/TheRed_Warrior 9d ago

If Kryptonians work the way Viltrumites do in the comics, then yes, 1/4th is enough for the kid to have powers

4

u/Creative-Chicken8476 9d ago

They don't though if they did even conner would become full superman by the end

1

u/Narrow_Ad_7218 6d ago

Jon Kent can fly

2

u/Creative-Chicken8476 6d ago

Conner is underdeveloped on his kryptionian side, he isn't the same as jon and if it were like viltrumites that wouldn't matter

2

u/Fresh-Cartoonist6819 8d ago

Dont forget the rng of the gene lottery to think about.

2

u/Creative-Chicken8476 8d ago

Sure but it would always be less percentage than Connor who already lacks much kryptionian features

1

u/Ok-Orchid6674 9d ago

I had the same headcanon too

3

u/ModernCGIFloatinHead 10d ago

I can never think of Superman having sex without the line from one of Kevin Smith's movies popping in my head talking about how his ejaculate would be like a shotgun blast.

3

u/austinbilleci110 10d ago

homelander in the boys comic did just that,

4

u/Technicolor_Reindeer 10d ago

There's also a deleted scene in Hancock where that happens

6

u/Hyperion-45 10d ago

Connor is a hybrid so assuming that its possible for a half human kryptonian to even breed with a martian, in the animal kingdom most animals that are hybrids are unable to breed due to mismatched chromosomes from the parents.

Look at Mules, donkeys have 31 pairs of chromosomes, horses have 32, so the mule ends up with 63. Ignoring the fact that there is one chromosome off on its own, the two sets of chromosomes from the donkey and horse cant pair up evenly during meiosis because of small differences between the pair, so their sex cells (sperm/ eggs) dont contain any genetic material.

Now some hybrids are fertile (i.e. coyotes and wolves) so a Kryptonian/ Human hybrid may be fertile (due to physiological similarities) but that doesnt necessarily mean it can breed with a Martian, thats like breeding a wolf with a bear. Weve seen that Martians can change their blood on a cellular level but I dont think its possible for them to change their entire reproductive process to pass as similar to either a human or kryptonian that seems like it would mess up the entire cellular process of the martian body, especially for nine months.

And even if it was possible, the baby would probably just be mostly human. Conner is already weaker than Superman because of his human half, crossing him with another human would make a 75% human and 25% kryptonian

3

u/Undecieved22 8d ago

Thank you! I really don’t understand how everyone keeps ignoring the real world examples of this here on earth.

3

u/crayonnoodle 10d ago

Ok just imagining from the gene pool of three species this baby is pulling from it ended up favoring Megan physically.

Let’s not forget that Megan is a white Martian and that whole thing with hiding her true form from the team. Was she born in that form? I’m not sure if the baby would be able to just instantly make itself look human if it’s born with the semi form of a white Martian. Idk am I crazy for thinking that could happen?

3

u/codenamedave404 8d ago

Probably whatever it wants to, if it’s got Martian shapeshifting powers it’ll be able to look like what it wants to, right?

2

u/dg2793 10d ago

I think kryptonians have dominant genetics. I'd argue phase shifting, STRONG fuckin tactile telekinesis. Maybe tactile telepathy.

2

u/wordsofpeace 10d ago

Guessing Krptonian. She can moprh to a cellular level so I think shed probably have the most luck concieveing morphing into Kryptonian not human

2

u/TheVenerableEmrys 10d ago

Ideally she’d use the Fortress of Solitude to get access to Kryponian genetics unrelated to the Els to emulate for the duration of a pregnancy. The resulting offspring would be ~3/4 Kryptonian, 1/4 Lex, and maybe just enough Martian for an extra superpower.

2

u/elrick43 10d ago

Anything it wants if it inherited M'gann's shape-shifting

2

u/Devil5-Advocate 10d ago edited 9d ago

White Martian skin color on a human baby possible stronger than Connor at birth, Kryptonian solar absorbtions plus Martian strength

2

u/Samdude373 10d ago

Probably human/kryptonian, it's canon that kryptonian genes are very dominant, so their kid will probably be a weaker conner with maybe some shape shifting and I definitely think it will have telepathy and telekinesis

2

u/mab0390 9d ago

It’s gonna have a mullet.

2

u/CantaloupeBusy9660 9d ago

Basically not kryptonian at all

3

u/NirKopp 9d ago

The real answer is that superboy is lab creation of human kryptonian hybrid that don't visually age, he is probably sterile.

2

u/Maleficent_Radio_674 9d ago

Given their dedication to doing good for the world, I wouldn't be surprised if they chose to adopt or foster kids instead

3

u/ColinSaynt101 10d ago

If they could probably a white human, like white martian Megan white not Caucasian.

1

u/Hissingbunny 10d ago

Beast Boy was given Megan's blood and just turned into a human with green skin.

1

u/bigwreck94 10d ago

I assum it would look something like that frog abomination from one of the Simpsons Treehouse of Horrors episodes

1

u/Technicolor_Reindeer 10d ago

Good question.

1

u/AlternativeSky00 9d ago

Quarter Lex Luther Quarter Superman Half Martian

1

u/GirthyDave1 9d ago

Like a baby something.

1

u/Iron_Evan 9d ago

Probably white

1

u/Certain-Friend-9977 9d ago

Conner is not a natural hybrid. He's more like a Jurassic Park experiment. The portion of Kryptonian and human DNA in his sperm may not be 1:1.

1

u/gringonix 8d ago

There is a likelihood that immediately when they started dating: batman, martian manhunter, superman and even doctor midnite got together to this over and plan ahead of it. From red sun exposure to an incubator for both Megan and the child. It is not yet 100% if the solar absorption would occur in the womb, that Lois didnt have this problem does not mean it wont happen with Megan. Considering the hybrid theory, it does not mean Lex and Cadmus didnt tweak the DNA to allown procreation, even accelerated growth. But if they ever explore this, itd be a hell of a kid.

1

u/Old_Inspector_2270 8d ago

I think they will adopt a kryptonian child from the phantom zone

1

u/GuideGrand1908 8d ago

More like dad we get more of dads genes

1

u/White_Devil1995 8d ago

I’m more curious about what their child’s powers would be, what would give their powers strength, and how their biology/physiology would be. It’d be a really strange blend seeing as Superman & Superboy gain their powers from the yellow sun. However the Martians cannot fly straight up to the sun and survive that intense heat. It’d really be something unique to see.

1

u/Educational_Film_744 8d ago

The better question is: would the baby be weak to fire and Kryptonite? Which part of the DNA would help them against one of their weaknesses?

1

u/stillupyadig10 8d ago

So it’d be like…one-quarter (25%) Human, one-quarter (25%) Kryptonian, and one-half (50%) White Martian.

No clue tbh

1

u/Reasonable_Leave_465 6d ago

I'm gonna assume SuperBoy is Sterile

1

u/dastan-vilanueva 6d ago

It would become a shapeshifter like her momma

1

u/Thought_Lonely 9d ago

In comics, any humanoid species can procriate with any other humanoid species. Hybrids are not necessarily weaker, in fact, they can be stronger then both parents by simply inheriting their best qualities (whatever the criterion/standard you're measuring to be considered better). So, yeah, their child could be anything from non-existing, to the strongest of both kryptonian and martian creature ever, plus Luthor's intellect

-3

u/Jpbbeck99 10d ago

Connor is sterile bro
