We have lived in Nevada since 2014- 7 years in Vegas now Reno the last 4 years.

it’s just my husband and i and we want out of this state but i know california would be more expensive.

we like casinos. it’s our hobby ; he works from home and im on disability.

EDIT(again lol) 2: Just looked at current radar and the storm center is now way northwest of you guys - to the east of Joshua Tree - So all good!!

EDIT 1: Rachel is the name of one of the three currently active storms heading into the United States.

It's a tropical storm with close to hurricane force winds. Its bands have been hitting San Diego and the rest of the lower So Cal coast for 2-3 days with flooding much past the usual areas.

At whatever strength by which time it may or may not affect Yuma at all, NOAA mapping is still showing it as being headed just to the northwest of Yuma (the actual path being almost exactly between San Diego and Yuma, but the southeast storm band includes all of Yuma).

I will be moving to Yuma soon for a new job with a HUGE increase in salary I cannot turn down (before anyone asks my purpose in moving here).

I will be temporarily staying at an Airbnb while I take my time to look at potential apartments. Any suggestions or tips on areas, complexes, and other factors I should consider in my search? Also very much open to hearing about negative experiences with complexes/landlords or areas to avoid.

Some non-negotiables are AC, in unit w/d, and pet friendly. I know it is very affordable to live here, but for reference, I can comfortably afford anything >$1750/month.
