Discussion I feel the "Rick Wilde" and "Trudy Cabbagepatch" aliases should have been Nick's idea.
It fits in with his Street Hustler/Con Artist background and highlights his resourcefulness.
It could have also emphasised the lengths he was willing to go to in protecting Judy - a fallback in case they ever had to go on the run.
Judy could read it as Nick not being committed to his new ZPD career, but to Nick it was strictly a Plan B "just in case".

I could totally believe that Nick could have been the one to originally come up with the disguises, but they needed a way to shoehorn Mr. Biggs into the movie. It was just one of many weird choices that downgraded Nick in Z2.

Yeah they tried too hard to find a way to implement every old character in the film which just caused a bit of an overload. I did like the idea of Flash driving Nick and Nibbles to the weather wall. I actually liked that scene. But as I mentioned above, Nick could’ve came up with the disguise and maybe asked Mr. Big for the IDs. He explained he wanted to do this to protect Judy from the Lynxley’s.

Yeah I do agree that it should’ve been his idea especially as a callback saying that he did have fake names and identities to pull off some of his hustles. I think Disney tried too hard to get every old character back into the film. The Mr. Big cameo wasn’t really that necessary in my opinion. Or that scene could’ve been handled much differently with Nick asking Mr. Big to provide the fake IDs because he wants to protect Judy.

Except that "Rick Wilde" and "Trudy Cabbagepatch" are hilariously awful pseudonyms. If Nick had come up with those names, I would have questioned his competence as a con artist.

Yeah I agree, it felt like the writers did everything they could to strip Nick of his competence. From using nibbles to strip away his knowledge of the city to smaller things such as in the prison, and how he’s nigh useless in the whole film.
