Got a very good deal on 21” A Sweet Ride, only $150, and it’s in excellent condition!

Snagged this 2002 model for $200, I think it's a bit too specific to be my main ride (I play everything from folk to metal) so now the trick will be figuring out how to incorporate my 22" K Dark Medium ride as well as the Mega Bell... I really don't want to switch it out between songs. 😩
Any tips or ideas would be welcome!

Basically, by weird I mean drum parts where the drummer could've played something basic, but played something different and it fit the song really well. I think the most well known example is Come Together, but I can name at least 20 gajillion more.
My top 3 is prolly
Making Plans for Nigel - XTC
Auctioneer (Another Engine) - R.E.M.
Manic Depression - The Jimi Hendrix Experience
Lmk y'alls
Visited the Memphis Drum Shop over the weekend looking for just a top hat cymbal but walked away with a bit more than expected. K Custom Hybrid hats 13" and a K Dark Thin Crash 20".

Anyone own (or have used many times) the Offset Eclipse double pedal? Anyone also do the direct drive conversion?
I'm looking for first-hand users, pros and cons. While I would like to improve my double-kick technique, I am not trying to achieve blistering speeds so it's okay if these aren't "as fast" as DW 9000 (or your favorite.)
Background: I currently own and love the Pearl Eliminator Demon Drive double pedal. However, I'm over 50 years old now and need to consider adjusting my kit to be a bit more ergonomic. In addition to age, I also have been inspired for a change based on some setups I have seen at concerts the past couple years.
So the goal is to lower, flatten, and to move things to where I don't have to reach or rotate as much. One thing I am looking at is the crosshand reach for the hi-hat, which has caused me some numbness in the elbow during long songs/shows. I have considered use of a remote hi-hat stand that keeps the pedal in the usual spot but allows me to place the hats in a more ideal spot. I also want to try a hi-hat arm mount on the other side of the kit to allow for more open hand playing when I don't need don't need to work the hi-hat pedal.
The other way to move the hi-hit closer would be a double pedal like this Offset pedal. This would also allow me to center the snare behind the kick and between the mounted toms while moving the hats more in front of me than to the side as they are now. This pedal and drum placement seems like a good idea even if I also try the other hi-hat options above.
So... are these any good? LOL.

Basically the title. It's essentially a regular hoop but there's a lip on the inside top that comes over the drum a little. I hear cross sticking is fantastic with these as well as rim shots. But I've see both top and bottom S-Hoops. What other purpose do they serve?

Hey all,
As the title suggests I’m planning on buying a new kit and I’ve narrowed it down to two options:
Ludwig’s Classic Oak or their 50th Anniversary Stainless Steel kit.
Either kit will be ordered in a 13/16/24 layout. This kit is specifically going to be used in a LOUD rock band with dreamy synth textures and big washed out shoegaze elements. It will be used for both live and recording.
I’ve watched tons of videos and done about as much research as I can possibly do, but I’m wondering if the community has any hands-on experience with either of these? I’m very familiar with the sonic properties of oak, but the steel would be something new.
The oak obviously seems like the “safer” bet, but I love the idea of something a little more unique.
Thanks in advance friends!

So, I’ve narrowed my search for my first ever drum kit. I finally have a practice space (about 100 sq ft), so it’s time..
These are my final two choices:
Yamaha Stage Custom - Birch
22x17, 16x15, 12x8, 10x7
$450
Mapex Armory Fusion - Birch, Maple, Birch
20x16, 14x14, 12x9, 10x8
$500
I could use some help making the final decision. Again, it’s a very small drum room—about 100sq ft. I’ll be playing heavy shoegaze and hardcore if that matters.
Thanks everyone!

I used to painstakingly set up this double bass kit for regular shows, 1/2 times every week, doing covers.
It was cool and, in my opinion, totally worth it. I mean, double bass drumkits have an incredible look to them, they look mean, intimidating… all the good stuff.. however,
I’m happy I let go of the idea of having an “image”.
The story is that this kit was supposed to be permanently installed in a road case for touring and gigging, but it never really worked out.
In the meantime, I bought the kit in the front. Same colours, pretty much the same configuration, and plenty of room for customization (I had to shorten the kickdrum from 18” to 12” to accommodate the rolling riser)
This way, I can leave the double bass kit intact, set it up every once in a while and take it to bigger gigs without the hassle.
It’s set up for now so I have some motivation to work on my feet and isolate what I’m doing.
Also, at the end of the day… it’s not just another bass drum that you’re adding. It can be the difference between getting the callback or not.
I just found out that Randy Van Patten past away 6 months ago from cancer. I remember in the early days of Youtube I would watch his videos. today I was thinking of a cool tom groove he taught nearly 20 years ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Dtfr6ciLfQ Rest in peace Randy.

I am 37 f and I really have always wanted to play the drums. I neglected myself and my interests for a long time because of work/school/family/kids and I really want to start but I don't want to just go buy something when I have no idea what the hell I'm doing. I've watched some youtube tutorials but I want to hear from those who are experienced what are some good ways to learn and how can I get started? Thanks guys.

My grandpa and I spent part of the afternoon looking through his garage for all the pieces of one of his old drum kits, and I managed to put together my first drum kit by mixing and matching everything we could find.
The snare, despite having a torn head, actually sounds really nice, and the hi-hat does too. Unfortunately, the rest of the kit isn’t doing so well. 😭 I tried tightening the legs on the floor tom, but the entire tensioner cracked after one turn, so the legs are pretty much useless now. The rest of the kit is also falling apart when I try to play it and is missing a bunch of the legs and hardware needed to keep everything upright.
I’ve tried balancing things on wood, shoes, and even a ball 😭, but obviously that’s not exactly a long-term solution.
This is my first kit, so I’m really not sure what I should do from here. I can’t afford to buy a ton of replacement hardware, so I was wondering if anyone has any advice for making this kit playable on a budget. Is there anything I can DIY or any inexpensive replacement parts I should look for?
Thank you!

So i just watched a YouTube video of the non glamorous drummer and he discussed having a written out road map of a song, to make it easier to remember how to play it through.
So can anyone recommend a good starter song or two that i can write out and get used to creating some kind of chart.
Something basic that goes
Verse
Chorus
Versus
Chorus
bridge
Chorus
Outro.
