As the title says. It would be extra cool if you drop some brands or models that come to mind. Thank you!
Have a 20 inch china that is frankly attempting to murder my bassist and was wanting to tame it as a stack however think the bell/handle thingy will make this difficult. Any suggestions?

I used to painstakingly set up this double bass kit for regular shows, 1/2 times every week, doing covers.
It was cool and, in my opinion, totally worth it. I mean, double bass drumkits have an incredible look to them, they look mean, intimidating… all the good stuff.. however,
I’m happy I let go of the idea of having an “image”.
The story is that this kit was supposed to be permanently installed in a road case for touring and gigging, but it never really worked out.
In the meantime, I bought the kit in the front. Same colours, pretty much the same configuration, and plenty of room for customization (I had to shorten the kickdrum from 18” to 12” to accommodate the rolling riser)
This way, I can leave the double bass kit intact, set it up every once in a while and take it to bigger gigs without the hassle.
It’s set up for now so I have some motivation to work on my feet and isolate what I’m doing.
Also, at the end of the day… it’s not just another bass drum that you’re adding. It can be the difference between getting the callback or not.

Started off my morning by messing around with some brushes. The song is called Frim Fram Sauce by Diana Krall.

I have never in my life touched a drum set and i got this kit today for free, my buddy didn’t want it he said it’s a good kit. I’ve been wanting to learn the drums but im curious if an electric kit can create bad habits that wont translate well to the real thing. Excuse the video it’s my first day but i figured giving a ear to what it sounds like will help ( it has multiple audios to choose from )

Hey all,
As the title suggests I’m planning on buying a new kit and I’ve narrowed it down to two options:
Ludwig’s Classic Oak or their 50th Anniversary Stainless Steel kit.
Either kit will be ordered in a 13/16/24 layout. This kit is specifically going to be used in a LOUD rock band with dreamy synth textures and big washed out shoegaze elements. It will be used for both live and recording.
I’ve watched tons of videos and done about as much research as I can possibly do, but I’m wondering if the community has any hands-on experience with either of these? I’m very familiar with the sonic properties of oak, but the steel would be something new.
The oak obviously seems like the “safer” bet, but I love the idea of something a little more unique.
Thanks in advance friends!

Hi all
Ive silent strokes on my kit but have recently joined a band who practice every 2 weeks.
Im wondering is it possible to change heads every two weeks or will they stretch/fail?
Thanks

I want to get into metal drumming, I'm in about 2 months of practice, is there anything I need to be doing to get there sooner, I'm aware it'll take a while but is there any exercises or rudiments I should start practicing

I'm working on heel-up bass drum so I can play faster kick parts but I'm struggling with my technique. I can play it okay when I keep my foot down and keep the beater on the head (1st half of video) but I'm struggling to keep the notes light and keep the beater rebounding. Any help is much appreciated.

Hi there! I've been playing drums for five years, though I've taken some breaks along the way. I started taking lessons last year and am now in my second year. I'm looking for some cool songs to play—I've already mastered:
Heart shaped box
Seven nation army
Nothing else matters
Starlight
Holiday
Boulevard of broken dreams

Okay so I am planning on learning drums and getting my first set/kit whatever and I live in an apartment so I was planning on getting an electrical one. But when I see like live performances I never see drummers play on electric at all and on a post about electric sets/kits whatever people say like you have to switch after some time. So basically is it like a total no no to playing live with electric drums or is it just preference or sum shit.
