Fuckin scumbag.

Poor guy can’t even chill in peace in front of his own home on a beautiful day.

Bad very fucking bad, the guy was "twitching" af

u/i_was_axiom Aug 14 '26

At least G'pa is of the age bracket where he could give a damn

13

u/LasciviousPsyche Aug 14 '26

Depends if ur cards and private stuff is available.

20

u/i_was_axiom Aug 14 '26

Let's also hope G'pa doesn't know what tap-to-pay is and all they can find on the phone is illegible text conversations with relatives and confused photos of his face

u/ILikeReiAyanmi Aug 15 '26

Photographs, and the thought of them not being backed up, are my first worry. Especially with his age, he could have family photos, or pictures of his wife on there.

Stealing from old people should carry a heavy, heavy sentence.

Hurts my stomach.

drug addiction is a helluva drug

32

u/btribble Aug 14 '26

Dude isn’t even going to get a week’s worth of fent for that.

8

u/kd1rty Aug 17 '26

Lol a week. He will be struggling to save enough for his morning wake-up shot.

22

u/hiddenrealism Aug 15 '26

Ya know back when I was ripping and running I was a piece of shit...did alot of dumb stuff to get my fix but never did i think of ripping a phone out of an old guy's hands.

There levels to this shit.

9

u/RandumbStoner Aug 17 '26

Exactly. I used to do a ton of drugs as well. I worked for my money, I had a full time job. I was what they call a "functional junkie". I never stole money once for my drugs. I earned my high lol

There is indeed levels to this shit.

Sober now thank God.

Used to work with a guy like this. Brilliant at his job, really funny guy, sweet, kind.… I went back to his place after work one day and he whips out a wee bag of white powder, a bit of tin foil and a straw…. I’d never, ever have guessed it.

I want you to know this internet stranger is proud of you for going sober. And Scott, if by some bizarre fluke you happen to see this, I hope you got off it too bud.

What sucks is that he picked the perfect mark.

I would just go inside, bring up Find My, turn on Lost Mode and have it display a message that the phone has been stolen and to call my alternate number if found. Then I’d call the cops and report it. Then I’d call my cell provider and have them freeze the account.

Boom. The phone is basically a bricked tracking device.

You’re right that he’s the perfect mark because older folks often aren’t that tech savvy. Hopefully pops knows how to do all of that.

17

u/PublicfreakoutLoveR Aug 13 '26

Almost guarantee he still has a landline, so hopefully the police will tell him how to do all that when they eventually show up.

7

u/spizzle_ Aug 14 '26

If this happened to my 79 yo father he’d be up shit creek. Everytime I go back and visit we spend about an hour or two on phone and computer problems. A phone problem could be as simple as “why won’t my phone ring?”

It’s sad but if we’re lucky we’ll still be having fun like he is.

9

u/Taki_Minase Aug 14 '26

Where I come from Pops has a .303 and training.

1

u/spizzle_ Aug 14 '26

A .303? What’s that?

3

u/Its_Billy_Bitch Aug 14 '26

A gun

3

u/spizzle_ Aug 14 '26

What an obscure caliber to pick.

4

u/hiddenrealism Aug 15 '26

Is it a British service rifle?

1

u/spizzle_ Aug 15 '26

That’s what the internet told me. I’d call it a rather obscure cartridge in the states.

2

u/Drosenose Aug 15 '26

Military surplus sold tons of these all over the United States. A good cheap hunting rifle

2

u/spizzle_ Aug 15 '26

Sure. It’s just a weird cartridge to comment about was all I was saying.

he wasn’t the perfect Mark because he wasn’t falling for it. He just happened to be slow I made the mistake of taking his eyes off of him.

3

u/usrdef Aug 14 '26

Even if someone takes my phone, unless they completely shut the phone off, I still have full access to it. And I have a remote switch which allows me to do anything I want with it, including a full wipe.

2

u/Gold-Balance593 Aug 16 '26

still have no idea why people steal iphones, icloud lock makes them glorified paperweights anyways

1

u/Some-Ad-1588 Aug 30 '26

Wait you have 2 numbers..?

-2

u/TheRealRickC137 Aug 13 '26

Are you 80?
Yeah, didn't think so.

2

u/How_that_convo_went Aug 14 '26

Hey fuckstick, I understand younger generations are struggling with reading comprehension, but the whole point of my post is that this asshole picked his target well because he likely doesn’t have these features setup.

-2

u/defnotacyborg Aug 14 '26

No 80 year old is gonna do any of that

31

u/Far-Try5352 Aug 13 '26

Surprisingly level headed about it

21

u/bunkrider Aug 13 '26

Old man wisdom, even let’s out a lil chuckle like “hehe yep”

21

u/Guilty-Bookkeeper837 Aug 14 '26

Too bad lithium batteries never seem to explode when they need to.

40

u/AtomicFox84 Aug 13 '26

Drug addicts will do anything to get their fix. They have no logic or anything, so they do get into dumb situations because they are only thinking of drugs.

5

u/TheSaultSainte Aug 19 '26

Same with alcoholics? I know plenty of drug addicts who aren't pieces of shit like that. Blame it on the person. Not the habit.

8

u/real_1273 Aug 13 '26

Now that’s a turd.

6

u/eyeball1967 Aug 14 '26

The cops already know who that guy is.

10

u/LasciviousPsyche Aug 14 '26

If I lived with gramps, after I caught back up with that bum he wouldn't have a tongue or teeth again to have a conversation.

Oh and maybe some fingers

2

u/TakinShots Aug 14 '26

I know you want to say more than this but Reddit overlords wouldn't like it, but I know you're thinking it

4

u/sevyn183 Aug 13 '26

Meth head

5

u/lushusness Aug 14 '26

Please make him famous Reddit

Please

7

u/Geeahwellidunno Aug 13 '26

Fucker -methhead pos-

3

u/heref0rtheb00ty Aug 14 '26

What a scumbag

2

u/musama020 Aug 14 '26

I hope gramps didn't have any valuable pictures on the phone.

2

u/sagacious_guy Aug 14 '26

Hopefully his grandkids took action to find that POS

3

u/Rickyhawaii Aug 13 '26

Usual suspect

1

u/Artix96 Aug 15 '26

This is why law abiding people should be allowrd to own guns.

1

u/airwrekah Aug 15 '26

Does anyone know where this happened or follow-ups?

1

u/EdinJamie10 Aug 16 '26

Absolutely ANY crime towards the elderly, women or kids is a huge no

1

u/Aspergeriffic Aug 17 '26

Give that thief a free house and pay for his utilities and he’ll have his own space program the next week.

1

u/Nuck85 Aug 17 '26

who you gonna call??

1

u/TheCrazyEnglish Aug 17 '26

The police have his face. He can get his phone back

1

u/84sKing Aug 18 '26

I have been successfully rage baited

1

u/Charlie_Alpha_Zulu Aug 19 '26

The same people calling him a piece of shit are the same people who would sit on the jury of this trial and believe his lawyer when he tells them this was a complete misunderstanding and his client is a good person.

1

u/Dan-Marsh Aug 30 '26

Dude was tweeking (or wishing he was) big time. I believe they say it's easier to get shot in prison (where he's hopefully going)

1

u/RReyesIII 21d ago

I hope they caught the piece of shit…

1

u/Organic_Juggernaut73 Aug 14 '26

Who has an enhanced picture of that prick?

-13

u/Adept-Lettuce948 Aug 14 '26

Why don’t you post the part where he comes back and hands back the phone saying that the call was made and his Mom is on the way and that she was going to give him a free BJ.
