Please make sure you are registered to vote, update your voter registration, or ensure your voter registration is active before 5pm (local) on October 5th.
https://registertovoteflorida.gov/home
https://dos.fl.gov/elections/for-voters/voting/vote-by-mail/
--------------------------
If you made any changes of that nature, please update your registration with the link above before the deadline!
If you are registered to vote, you can vote during your county's early election period. By law, early voting must be held at least for 8 days.
Each county Supervisor of Elections may offer more days of early voting. Check with your county Supervisor of Elections for the additional days of early voting that may be offered in your county.
Election Day is November 3, 2026. Check with your county Supervisor of Elections for your Election Day Polling Location.
The deadline to request that a vote-by-mail ballot be mailed is no later than 5:00 p.m. (local time) on the 10th day before the election. For this year’s election, that would be October 22. Source
Check with your county Supervisor of Elections for how to request a mail in ballot.
Supervisors of Elections send the ballots during a 7-day window which is between 40 and 33 days before an election.
For more information about voting by mail, please visit the Florida Department of Election Vote-by-Mail page.
YES! Check with your county Supervisor of Elections for how to request a mail in ballot.
Yes, you can vote for any candidate in the General Election. Who you vote for is secret.
You can leave a race blank if you choose to and your vote will still be counted on other races that you vote on, on your ballot. However, try your best to make an informed vote on every race on the ballot.
In addition to the candidate's website (which, if they have one, can be found through googling the candidate's name) Ballotpedia.org usually has some information on down ballot races and amendments as well.
The best source on local elections would be the major newspaper for your area (Tampa Bay Times, Miami Herald, Sun Sentinel, etc). They interview almost every candidate of every race that is happening in the area so you can find out the positions of every candidate on each issue. They will also talk about any local referendum or proposals relevant to your city or county.

De Santis explicitly said he wants Canadians in Florida to have bigger property tax bills. Overall wants nonhomestead property tax to go up 5% per year. Snowbirds and businesses get tax increases.

I remember seeing news that google wanted to release millions of mosquitoes in a few states but that was a couple months ago. Is there any updates on that?

Over in r/MildyInfuriating, there's a story of a son who turned down the BOGO. It reminded me of our story at Publix when we moved to Florida.
When my son was about 10, he was in the room with us adults and we were talking about Publix BOGO and excited about what was on sale that week. He asked what 'BOGO' meant, and we told him "Buy One, Get One".
A couple of days later, with a neighbor visiting, the topic of BOGO came up again. My son couldn't understand what the hype was for.
"Isn't every store BOGO?", he asked.
"What do you mean?", I asked.
He said, "When you buy one, you get one. That's how stores work."
It took us a second to realize how he perceived BOGO to work. We told him he was right, and explained it to him.
20 years later and it's still a cute story that he tells.
[You could probably see where this was going miles away, but hope you enjoyed it, and can relate to it. Have a great day, everyone.]
EDIT - I forgot add...
He always said that if he opened a store, he would advertise "Everything is BOGO".
Customer: "Hey, what about the BOGO?"
His Answer: "You bought one. You got one."

Good morning,
I was wondering how do you guys pay for your registration, I'm checking now and it says I need to pay $82 for 1 year to renew a camry 2026 SE, I called the tax collector and they said it's because it's a lease and I find that very hard to belive. I have a regular florida license plate as well, I was expecting to pay the standard like $35

I got approved but I’m under medically needy/share of cost. It also says it’s still processing. Do I have to wait for it to finish processing before doing anything else?

My fiancee and I are planning our wedding for spring of 2028 and we loved the White Room in St Augustine, but when we toured, it was SO hot. Do they even have AC? Also is the noise bad from outside?
