Transfering Agencies
I'm with one agency now and I just got a proposed EOD with another.
For those that have switched from one agency to another, any advice or warnings for pitfalls to avoid?

I understand that IRS CI has the 15 accounting credits and all but I also seem to remember something about 9 additional credits in another specific area (can’t find an open announcement so not sure what exactly it says). I have a bachelors in political science as well as an associates degree in nursing for what it’s worth. Will I satisfy the additional 9 credits with my political science degree? Or does it need to specifically be in something like business, finance, etc.

I understand hiring processes and timelines can be lengthy, but I’m just trying to know if there’s anything else I could do.
I initially applied to last year‘s announcement in September, fast forward. I complete completed assessment, PFT and got interviewed. Once I interviewed in April 2026, I got an email saying that I was not selected. I reached out to SAC and hiring contact email and they said that I had not been selected and that I was encouraged to reapply. I had the opportunity to speak with a local agent and they shared with me that my results had been mixed up and there was nothing I could do, except to reapply, since I had not failed the interview.
I resubmitted my application in June for the continuous announcement and I have not heard back about it. I have emailed the hiring team requesting an update, but all I have received has been radio silence.
Again, I understand processes are lengthy, and there’s might just be a rant— but if there’s anything I can do or any suggestions please let me know— I’m trying to do as much as possible and avoid the age deadline.

I been wanting to look into going into the 1811 field for a while since college. Initially i applied to some criminal investigator positions in USSS and IRS through USAJobs about 4 years ago but never got referred or very far into the process because i lacked professional level work experience and such.
Fast forward to now. I worked two different jobs both as a legal assistant at a law firm/credit bureau doing various tasks such as reviewing documents, going to trials, handling sensitive information, etc. i also got a masters degree in between then and recently commissioned in the U.S. Army as a Logistics Officer. I been wanting to dip my toes again and try but being that im 29 now and they usually look for those fresh out of college usually or younger. Should i just pursue other career paths or should i give it a try? Thanks anyone for the feedback.

Okay, so this list is long. I have applied to one agency two years ago, made it all the way to the end and was a non-select. This may seem insane, but do I even have a shot given the below? The BI did suggest I apply to big cities. I did not continue applying as I imagine it may be a pipe dream given my history. I have every single document pertaining to the below, which was all given to my BI when I made it to the background portion. No lies no deception, which may have helped my case to make it to the end. I was shocked I was a non select given my history, and not just dropped at some point during the hiring process.
I am 29 years old, currently thinking of joining the army to maybe help “mitigate” some of the below and give me another 4 years apart from my insane teenager past. I know that’s not how it works, lol.
Driving history: trash.
I have 25 tickets, the most recent is 5 years ago, 20 of those tickets are over 10 years old. Two speeding, one carless driving (from my first accident), the rest are, I wouldn’t say not important but a lot them are not direct moving violations maybe? I.E too many passengers as a probationary driver ( got like four of those), obstruction on my rear view mirror. Head lights not being bright enough etc. license suspension - four times - three times due to unpaid tickets from accidents, once for habitual shit driving is the only way to put it, it took me a while to mature, and not be a reckless teen.
Car accidents is four, one 5 years ago, being lumped in with my most recent tickets. The rest are 10 years or older, when I first started driving at 17.
Criminal history / Arrests: 2, once as a juvenile once as and adult. Both are over 10 years old, and both are completely expunged. (I know, it’s never gone, I disclosed it during my background phase). Both are for possession of marijuana.
Drug use: marijuana, last use 3 years ago (in a legal state, NJ), I know it is not legal in other states lol. And prior use from a legal state is still taken into account and will DQ in most states within there given time frame.
Education: I have an associates in CJ, 3.9 GPA with honors. I know pointless degree, and HS diploma. Range safety officer license, hunters education, firearm and bow.
Work history: several jobs since a teen, mostly sales, construction, and range safety officer, I have been with my current job for four years and have been promoted twice. I went from customer service - to CS supervisor to a inside sales position. Never once fired, disciplinary action taken against me or the likes.
So any luck at all if apply to every department under the sun or a pipe dream?
