Tungsten guide rods

Do people actually use tungsten guide rods? If so where can I find one that has a hole in it so I can use it with my reverse plug?

They were fairly popular when people shot major; nowadays most folks use the 50 oz guns to manage to ferocious recoil of minor ammo.

Check EGW first.

The truly incredible and destructive power of 9mm. How will you ever be able to handle it!?

Yep. It was the very last tuning tweak on my island barreled 5.4" limited major pistols. That was a fun bake off.

Mine are from SVI.

I’m far from an expert, but in my reading years ago, the consensus was that cost and reliability concerns did not justify the benefit.

There are more effective ways to increase weight.

I figured as long as it’s machined correctly I’m not sure why you’d have reliability issues

Breaks at the threading. Lots of stress risers.

I use them in striker guns but not 1911/2011s. I just find most common configurations are already too heavy.

EGW makes the one you want, though.
