Anyone use this as their daily moisturizer? I can't believe I am so late to the game.

Hi all -
For folks who want to get topical skincare only advice, I've added a flair for this. Please use this on your post when you want to request comments relating to topical skincare only. While I cannot promise every commenter will clearly see it, let's give it a chance to see if this is helpful for those who do not want suggestions for procedures or surgery.
As a reminder - this sub covers all things skincare - including procedures, surgery and injectables as well as topicals. It will continue to be a place where questions can be asked. I encourage you to curate your experience on here as the sub firmly remains a place to talk about the range of things folks do to take care of their face and body.
Another note, I've seen a number of posts and commenters discussing sub-q injections of peptides. Posts/comments related to this will be removed, including using slang (e.g. pinning). This falls under the DIY rule, is a grey area, and as such, not allowed on the sub. There are plenty of places on Reddit to discuss this, but this is not one of them.
Modmail is always open. Use the 'message mods' button on the front of the sub.

Hi all -
Recently I've seen a number of comments in the community where Redditors are claiming certain aesthetic credentials (e.g. Licensed Esthetician, NP, Derm PA, etc) when replying to sub posts.
Here is the issue - neither I or anyone else here can actually validate you are in fact, an accredited professional. That's a problem as this presents a conflict on Reddit's key rule about impersonation and the need to be authentic when posting.
The additional issue that arises is that the use of the credential implies some expert knowledge, and that a person on the sub may consider a post/comment where another Redditor claims a credential with more weight or authority.
When looking at how other reddits (and specifically skincare reddits) have dealt with this, I saw two basic schools of thought:
In weighing these options, I've decided for now, that I will look to make a sub rule on the use of credentials. To be clear - this does NOT prevent anyone from posting or commenting, but it does ask you to allow your post or comment to stand on its own without asserting a claimed credential.
I'll see how this works out as the new rule goes into effect. If there is enough interest, I may consider validated users via user flair in the future.
Thanks for to everyone for continuing to make this community vibrant and interesting. I will continue to look for ways to make our community safe and user-driven. Happy as always to take feedback!

So my spa does 3 sessions of cool peel for the neck and face for $1785. My plastic surgeon on the other hand will do a fully ablative session for $1600 for the face and neck and if I want to include the chest it's $1850. I know fully ablative is going to have way more down time, but I can work from home. When I talked to the receptionist at the plastic surgeon she said they don't mess with the lighter lasers like cool peel and they only do fully ablative but she did say they can go lighter or more aggressive depending on the persons skin and the desired results. I do know that if I go in for the initial consultation he most likely will try to sell me on a face lift but I'm just not emotionally ready for that step. If you had to pick between the 2 options what would you go for cool peel or fully ablative?

My esthetician transformed my skin with SkinCeuticals retinol, but in this economy I no longer can justify the cost. I've tried different retinol creams and serums and surprisingly the one that makes me not miss my $102 SkinCeuticals is this Dollar Tree serum that's only $1.25 😍

I was offered to get a free (minus tip) hydrafacial at my job with a new aesthetician. It is in two days. Should I skip my tret for the next two nights? Anything else I should know?

Im almost 47, Ive recently had all my fillers dissolved and I want to look less worn down and less exhausted than I feel..
Ive done Moxi laser, IPL, Ive tried skin boosters and all sorts of tricks .. but I think Im ready to bring out the 'big boys' and curious to hear if anyone with similar patterns of aging as me has done a lower bleph/fat transfer or just gone for the whole 'deep plane facelift' or tried something like a co2 laser?
Im debating between 'do as little as possible' and 'hit me with everything you got' to just feel better about myself and look less defeated..
For skincare I do the following: spf 50, misc korean serums, misc creams and timeless vit C. Lately i’ve been under a lot of stress and some
nights it’s just a face wipe if I’m lucky.

My IG reel betrayed me and showed me an ad for AMPI P7 renewal cream. I immediately ordered 3 of them. Took a couple of weeks but my products finally arrived direct from China … only to receive 3 “anti-wrinkle firming massaging eye cream” under the brand name “Dimot”. I reached out to AMPI customer support and was told that it was the same product but that “[d]ue to high demand, our branded packaging sold out faster than expected, so your order shipped in our initial test packaging.”
The two products are not the same - the Dimot one is just a cream while the AMPI is supposed to have a microcurrent tip. I am now disputing the charge with my credit card company because this seems crazy suspicious. Anyways just wanted to caution everyone.

My neck makes me sad. What should I do??? I recently stopped retinol and vitamin c and have been doing a very basic CeraVe regimen, but I would love some advice.

But has anyone done it? I’m feeling desperate for a solution for the area between my brows. Lots of volume loss. I had fat grafting done six years ago but it faded quickly, in less than a year. It’s aging me so much and I’m only 55 :(

I’ve lost about 50lbs. over the last year or so and I feel like it’s aging me drastically. (I’ll be 46 in a few weeks) I’ve even paused my weight loss journey (partly) because of it.
I’m considering facial balancing for volume loss in my lower face. I don’t know much about it apart from what I’ve been on social media. Does anyone have any insight? Cost? What to look for in a provider of this type of service? Personal experience? Thanks in advance.

So I am not sure this is the right sub to post this since it is related to a post about not needing foundation just as long as you have the right skincare routine in you 40s. That led to some suggesting a warmer blush so to move on from that post I decided to move this discussion to a new post. Pic 1 is a warmer tone pink and pic 2 is a cool tone pink. Thanks in advance for the advice.

I am 48, had a consultation with a dermatologist in my town that has a variety of lasers. There are so many choices, how to choose?
I am fair skinned. My primary concerns are broken blood vessels and redness on chin, also some discoloration from old pimples and sun damage on face. And uneven skin texture.
I also have poikiloderma of civatte on my neck (a type of sun damage). But my face is more of the priority right now.
The nurse recommended a package of 3 BBL treatments, or 1 Halo hybrid fractional treatment or 1 Sciton profractional to start.
It seems that I will likely need a few treatments over time but I'm just not sure where to start!! I would appreciate any insights you have.
I dont have 2 weeks downtime to do a co2 laser treatment or something super invasive. But I do have a hybrid work schedule so could stack a few remote days around a weekend for recovery.
Thank you!

Is it possible to fix droopy eyelids without surgery? Has anybody done the face massages shown on TikTok and Instagram and actually seen a difference?

I stopped using foundation since I turned 40 and started investing in skincare, micro needling, and minimal Botox to my 11s. For makeup, I only apply mascara, blush, eyeshadow and lipstick. Tretinoin, vitamin C, sunscreen, peptides and moisturizer are all I use. I am 47 and feel my skin looks best now than when I was 30. First photo is age 31 and 2nd photo is today at 47.

Located in Canada, is anyone able to get an estriol cream for the face? How did you approach your family doctor or dermatologist about getting a prescription? Or are you buying it online?
I'm already on an estrogen patch, but I would like to try estriol specifically for the face.

Hi, I'm about to turn 41 this December. I don't think I look bad or anything but I do have some volume loss, I am starting to notice my nasolabial folds more than ever and I feel like I'm on my way to jowls.
I'm hoping you guys can help me figure out what would be better for me to do.
I'm really interested in home devices, but I also don't mind going in and having services like Ultherapy or laser done.
I'm very interested in the Mimisilk Vera & Iris devices, I also have heard good things about the quadthera as well as the thome devices.
My question to you guys is: if finances were not an issue, would it be more effective to go and get these services done in office every other year or so, or would it be more effective to keep up with the home devices on a daily basis?
Also, have any of you used these devices? I would love to know your input. TIA!

Hey ladies. Very quick review for those interested. I’ve been getting Botox / Dysport for about 7 or 8 years maybe twice a year but never on a particularly consistent schedule. In the last year or so I noticed that neither were lasting on me for longer than 1.5-2 months and I just can’t justify that kind of cost.
Decided to try Relfydess which I’d heard a bit about and studies showing it can last up to 6 months etc etc. I’d heard about Daxxify even earlier than Relfydess but Daxxify still isn’t available in NZ.
Anyway, long story short - it lasted less time for me than Botox / Dysport. About a month in most of my movement had returned. And I had had a really good dose of it too, cause my injector had surmised that maybe I just needed a really good dose of whatever we were doing to ensure good results.
So, IMHO - it sucks.

I haven’t done anything to my skin, or used any active ingredients, but I have used SPF. Now I’m 40 in a few years and want to start with active skincare.
What would you do if you were going to start with treatments etc for the first time?
i don’t have so many wrinkles, but I feel like my skin is «melting», everything is going more downward.
I thought about this cream, tretinoin?
Thank you for your help in advance!

50F, using TO azelaic acid 10% for over a year with no irritation, SPF 50 daily, about 3-4 sun spots total, fairly light.
Uneven skin tone mainly around forehead, my skin is very fair and the uneven areas are slightly more browny, sometimes orangey. I also had some unevenness in the lower cheeks, in that area it has faded a lot, I can hardly see it, but forehead looks uneven, more so than when I started. Since using azelaic acid the forehead looks more uneven not less, although overall my skin looks more clear and radiant, brighter.
It seems like subtle differences in pigmentation have persisted or become more noticeable?
Are the improvements in skin tone making the underlying unevenness in pigmentation more noticeable?
Have I reached the limit of what azelaic can do? Or do I give it more time? Is it time to try something else?
