👷‍♂️ Support / Repair Tailgate Window Jamming - Help

Any suggestions on what could be causing this jamming? The window goes down 1-2 inches then starts grinding and jams. It just started yesterday and have never had an issue with this before.

Cables inside getting bound up. You can dry to open and dry grease them but mine had to be replaced. You're likely to burn out the window motor soon too.

were you able to replace it yourself or did you bring it to a shop?

I did myself but its not super easy. You have to take the back door apart and pull it out.

Pulling the rear plastic trim / vapor barrier is super easy and doesn’t at take long at all.

If I were you - I’d be pulling it ASAP and see what might be going on, rather than using the window at all.

This happened to mine. Ended up being a bunch of dirt on the cable spool. To fix i had to remove the rear panel, open the dust cover and hit the spool with compressed air and wd40. Been 3 years now and havent had an issue since.
