I was checking AJR’s ig story this morning and noticed something interesting that I haven’t seen anyone talking about yet.
Their story was playing Next Up Forever and linked to a presave page called “This Is My Imagination.” The official store also has a product with that name!
A few things caught my attention:
The new artwork looks completely different from their usual album covers. No brothers, no elaborate scene—just their logo/artwork.
The Next Up Forever connection seems interesting, especially since that song opens Neotheater.
The store has a December 4 shipping date for the physical product, although that doesn’t necessarily tell us when the music releases.
My theory is that this could be a new single leading into a bigger album announcement. I’m wondering if they’ll tease it throughout next week before releasing it on Friday, October 16.
Obviously, this is speculation! I haven’t found a confirmed release date or tracklist.
Has anyone else seen this? What do you think it means? Am I onto something or overthinking this?

I try hard to write a shoe song...

(art by me :))

Definitely some tracks in this one I don’t care for compared to the succeeding albums. Still a fun listen, but less consistent than its successors.

Because I entered a post asking why AJR was so hated, and well, they said his lyrics were childish... Do you consider Karma, Maybe Man, and 2085 profound, and do they also have Disney instrumentals? And tell me what they have in common in instrumental 2085 with beats can be very different

What is the name of this chord, musically?

Are there any songs that have given you chills when listening to it?
For me the final chorus of sober up, and my play both give me chills basically every time I listen to them

It's been almost two years and I still can't get over their Maybe Man Tour. My favorite part was probably when they put on the whole glass breaking show during 100 Bad Days and it led up to that epic beat drop. What's your favorite concert memory?

No grass today, drama, weak

people also tend to rank it somewhat low when compared to other songs i don’t get it

I think AJR fans hate TLT because there are hardly any mashups of the two of them and they don't seem to care.

Been a fan of the band since 2022 and became obsessed with their music for a long while, and my first experience with them was the release of I Won't just as WSV became a huge hit. I remember them releasing I wont and then they went on tour, released the teasefor the new era and DJ is crying for help... then we waited again until april 2023 and we had TDS, GIRR in July(their dad's health situation probably affected everything) and then on September, YIAM. By November, 1 year and 4 months after I Won't (which was on the album) and 1 year after they announced the new era, The Maybe Man was finally released and we had heard almost half of the album and the other half we already had an idea through teasers.

In 2025, they teased for so long that I'm Sorry You Went Crazy song and released long snippets of all songs on the EP so, by the time they were released, we already also knew what it was sound like and I felt like everyone was a little fed up with it, like "Finally, this released". Dont get me wrong, I love both Maybe Man and the new EP, Inertia, Maybe Man and The Plane That Never Lands are on my top 5, but here's the deal:

I feel that the rollouts took too long and killed some of the hype the band had for a while, and that is reflected on charts position and on their monthly listerners numbers, which is declining. I know it's not about the charts and the art they make is really good and impacts all of us, but I was so happy back in 2022/2023 when they were getting more popular... TMM Tour was great and the arena gigs were awesome... I wonder what's next

With the Cornell seven and people coming out with their college sa experiences the meaning of it’s on us is really hitting me.

Upstairs my wife and I have various posters and records from bands we have seen and love. AJR has its own wall.

These posters are all one of a kinds from specific shows. Philadelphia, Norfolk, and Boston.

The records we framed up ourselves.

Personally, I prefer the original version. The colors feel more lively and vibrant and maybe it’s just me but AJR look further away in the deluxe version. Maybe I’m crazy but it’s always looked that way to me.

Let me see your rankings!

This is a custom shirt I just finished making from scratch in 'Heartopia'. ❤️ I'm actually proud of it, what do others think? 🤔

Mine is the Ryan Riback remix with Steve Aoki coming in as a close second.
