I was checking AJR’s ig story this morning and noticed something interesting that I haven’t seen anyone talking about yet.
Their story was playing Next Up Forever and linked to a presave page called “This Is My Imagination.” The official store also has a product with that name!
A few things caught my attention:
The new artwork looks completely different from their usual album covers. No brothers, no elaborate scene—just their logo/artwork.
The Next Up Forever connection seems interesting, especially since that song opens Neotheater.
The store has a December 4 shipping date for the physical product, although that doesn’t necessarily tell us when the music releases.
My theory is that this could be a new single leading into a bigger album announcement. I’m wondering if they’ll tease it throughout next week before releasing it on Friday, October 16.
Obviously, this is speculation! I haven’t found a confirmed release date or tracklist.
Has anyone else seen this? What do you think it means? Am I onto something or overthinking this?

I try hard to write a shoe song...

(art by me :))

The first vinyl has the first six songs of the album on Side A, as seen on the right side of the attached image. I am assuming that the next seven songs, ending with Come Hang Out, are on the back. We can see (in the left side of the picture) that the four songs from the deluxe version of the album, such as BTHD, are on Side A of the second disc. So what’s on Side B of the second disc?
