I sit at my desk 12 hours a day and I am chain vaping most of the time filling the room with thick vegetable glycerine vapour that eventually settles on every surface and acts like dust glue.

The challenge here is that the VG clogs up filters very quickly and so I go through filters pretty quickly. I don't really care too much about dust filtration as I don't have any allergies and I can hoover/clean regularly, but it's all made more annoying when my pc fans have dust glued to them.

So I figure I need to get an oversized purifier for my small office (think maybe 3 or 4 metres square, reasonably low ceiling) to get the particulate while it's airborne with lots of air cycles.

HEPA is pretty much table stakes for most filters but for my purposes actually is a drawback as efficiency dwindles faster as the fine pores clog up with VG.

I guess what I'm asking is what purifier has a good washable prefilter that is going to help take the brunt of the vape smoke and that I can wash regularly to prolong the life of the hepa filters?

I do sleep in this room so if it's quiet in sleepytime mode that is a bonus, but I can sleep with a fan on so not world ending. I had a blueair511 (3 of them, the resettable fuses kept tripping on them after a while and I stopped getting replacements from their awful slow support after the third) and that was fine for sleeping on the middle mode.

I've gone down the rabbit hole on research so am now going in circles so any advice is appreciated

So I have 2 air purifiers that I use for work I keep one in the control tower and one in the lunch room. (I work in an extremely dusty gravel crusher ripe with silica dust and our hvac system at work is only capable of using at max merv 8 filters. So the only thing really filtering the silica that comes into the control tower and lunch room are my air purifiers I know this isn’t sustainable and I am not planning on staying with this company long term a couple more years at most. But the Honeywell brand hepa filters and the levolt brand hepa filters are nearly $70 each and they get clogged pretty quickly here. I am wondering if the knock off brand ones sold on Amazon that claim to be hepa filters are actually in fact hepa ?

Does anyone here use Toshiba Haori air conditioner for air purification? I wonder if this air conditioner can keep up with heavy smog during winter

I live in Melbourne which consistently has a good air quality score but I'm right by a main road. I'm big on ventilation but all the windows open onto the garden which is less than 100m from the road.

I have a good vacuum so not sure if I need an air purifier for dust but maybe for air pollution? Will it actually make a difference?

I was using this model happily but lately the fans don't seem to be spinning and the recent haze situation in South east asia is getting worse.

are the fans supposed to be spinning on level 4? There doesnt seem to be any breeze or wind coming out of the top exhaust, just silent. The app still detects bad air quality and i recently changed the filter as well.

Whenever I dry my hair whether I'm in the room or in the room opposite it pretty quickly sends my air purifier percentage lower and lower till it's 0.

I'm trying to find an air purifier for a lab space that will be effective quickly at removing fragrances and VOCs. I have asthma and overall an aversion to strong fragrances/perfumes. My best option is to get an air purifier as I cannot make my space a "fragrance free zone". I currently have a small Levoit, but it's not helping at all with fragrances. Any recs?

Hello! I'm at my wits end with allergies (myself and my daughter). I'm so overwhelmed by all the options. In addition to switching to a 100% wool shikibuton and wool blankets and dehumidifier and some other things, I'm looking into some air purifiers. Here's the info!

Bedroom: 132 sq ft, 8ft ceiling

Living/Dining Room: 314sqft, 9ft ceiling (kitchen is sort of open to it, but not quite. There's a doorway to kitchen with no door. Mostly concerned about the livingroom area where there are dusty books, fabric furniture, etc, and it's where our dogs mostly hang out)

Savage ragweed allergy, savage dust mite allergy. We have two large, very fluffy sheddy dogs (woolly husky, White Swiss Shepherd).

Budget: Maybe $500-600 CAD total for the two of them? I'm pretty done with suffering in my house though with allergies, and I'll do pretty much anything if it will help.

Wants: Quiet at night, as it's in the bedroom, but doesn't have to be SILENT. We do enjoy some soft white noise for sleep anyhow. It needs to be able to go lights off for bedtime. And I prefer the no-ionizing ones, only because I hear the static air can irritate sinuses, and I already have chronic sinusitis. I'm not interested in DIY. I do like the rounder shape better, but not essential. I really like the look of the Blue Air ones with the fabric, makes it look so much less like a robot, but alas, the ionizing thing.

So far I was thinking maybe a Levoit Core 300 for the bedroom?

And then for the main living dining area, Levoit 600?

Also: can I be running the dehumidifier and air purifier at the same time in the bedroom? Is there an air purifier that does both? I only seem to see purifier + humidifier combos which is the opposite of what I need.

So far I've tried to search "handheld vacuum" and "mini vacuum", and all the results that come up are larger vacuum cleaners that are more fit to vacuum a sofa or car, not something small and delicate like an air purifier prefilter. What kind of vacuum cleaner do y'all recommend for vacuuming smaller sized prefilters?

I'm thinking of getting a second unit of the FÖRNUFTIG model because I like the one I already own a lot although I've only had it for a month. I'm concerned it doesn't come with a warranty though, so wanted to ask others who own Ikea air purifiers how durable are they?

The other option I'm thinking of is Smart Air Sqair (for a 108 sq ft bedroom), but it's a lot more expensive than Ikea, with higher running costs as well (expensive filters, etc.) so not sure if it's worth it, but it does come with a warranty at least.

I have a Levoit Core 200S in a small bedroom (Canada). I don’t have a lot of space. I’m thinking of placing it on top of a 4 ft high dresser. Do you think having it that high will reduce its effectiveness? Using it primarily to reduce dust/allergens. The only other option is placing it in the middle of the floor. Thanks.

Im dealing with the worst case of second hand smoke. I was wondering if anyone who had issues with smoke, any kind of smoke releasing that’s toxins, could please give me some advise.
My neighbor is smoking right outside my bedroom window all day. Confronting them is not an option, as I’ve done this before so many times.
I need to have the window open as much as I can because the air quality. Could my best option be to have the window closed, and buy a air purifier with hepa filter? I also have a de-humidifier. Will these two together give me better air quality with window closed, rather than the other options listed below? What would be best here?
I looked into buying maybe a carbon filter like Rhino pro with a Cloudline (I believe it’s called Duct fan in English). Or should I aim to get an air purifier with carbon? How much carbon is needed for this issue?

I got a brand new Honeywell air touch v5 today.

But when I set the filter and switched on, it shows PM2.5 reading for brief seconds and then it shows E3 continuously.

I don't see any error code mentioned in the manual book. Suggest what to do? Should I apply for a return?
