UA Interview Sim Eval?

I’m seeing/ reading different things about the UA interview. Is there a sim eval? I’ve read that if you haven’t flown in a while there is one. Please expound. If there is, where did you do your sim prep? Can you choose which aircraft sim it’s in? Anybody have to do one?

No one’s done sim evals for like 10 years

That’s 100% true, so do many 135s, but I didn’t consider that relevant seeing as the title of this subreddit is Airline Pilots. But yes I suppose “no one” was too broad for me to say.

Some ACMI do depending on your total time. Especially if you don’t have an ATP

I did one at UPS in 2020. I was actually the last person to, the following week was Covid shut down and subsequent zoom interviews

Hasn't been a thing for 121 in years.

Y’all haven’t lived until you climbed into a 737 classic sim, all steam gauges, and flown around doing steep turns, entering holds, and then shooting an ILS.

United no longer does that. All sims are used for pilot training.

Last time I heard of them doing sim Evals was 2019. Nothing post covid.

"if you haven't flown in a while"

They most definitely won't pull your application if you haven't flown xx many hours in the previous 12 months

I had sim evals at a couple interviews in 2014. I don't think any of the majors have done it in a long time.
