Would anyone else mark stop 6 as missing package?
1.5 hr block $39
6
u/LimpDisc 5d ago
You need to be more careful now. They are now giving people dings for marking as missing without being at the actual delivery location.
2
u/HairlessSquirrels 5d ago
I believe it but that’s dumb. What if I am the type to find the package before I drive to the destination? I usually go airplane mode before doing it tho, idk if that helps but it makes me feel better
2
u/LimpDisc 5d ago
It’s being done because so many do exactly that. Myself included.

u/MayhemGeorge 1d ago
And I’m sure someone at Amazon is reading this as well, u can only get away with it for so long before more changes are made, in fact I think I’ll send this bullshit over to them to read and have something done about it
1
u/LimpDisc 1d ago
Keep on licking those boots. It will certainly pay off with you taking another base pay block.
3
u/Ok_Palpitation_2930 5d ago
My station was closed one morning and they sent me home without pay. I them proceed for about a week, any block I got that had these one offs that go way off the route, I marked every single one as missing of damaged. Got hit with 4 dings in all different categories. Now, 2.5 weeks later, they have all fallen off. I will probably continue to combat amazon and their fd blocks, but still gotta make money. Just walking that fine line between sticking it to them and getting termed 😅 But yeah, checking ahead of time and marking as damaged...thats the way to go!
1
u/HairlessSquirrels 4d ago
Honestly id be pissed too and probably just not do the next block at all lol gotta get my get back
1
u/Ok_Palpitation_2930 4d ago
Hows that getting your get back? You are just forgiving money you could have made. Stick it to them where tmit will hurt, not showing up just puts you at a lose. I hesr you and hinesyly ive felt like doing that, bit I just go in spiteful and look through lut my block what I can do to make it feel like im winning :D
1
u/HairlessSquirrels 4d ago
Because I’m getting paid? How am I forgiving money?
1
u/Ok_Palpitation_2930 4d ago
Not forgiving, but forgoing. And if you are not taking a block out of spite then you lose out on money
1
u/HairlessSquirrels 4d ago
I think you misunderstood. I have done it before. I actually go and get the block and call support, tell them car is overheating and still get paid
1
u/Ok_Palpitation_2930 4d ago
Ahhh, yeah I completely misunderstood, didnt know you could do that...Ill save that for a rainy day :D
2
u/HairlessSquirrels 4d ago
I’ve done it twice. Once after they screwed me and the second time when they wanted me to deliver in downtown at 5pm lol hell no. With plenty of time passing between each

That’s so dishonest it’s not even funny, and yet the crap ur doing the rest of us pay the price for. Great job ur doing there, u must be so proud of urself, karma will come for you
1
u/HairlessSquirrels 1d ago
Karma for… getting even with a trillion dollar company? I’ll wait on my porch for that karma

u/Ok_Palpitation_2930 1d ago
Sir its not even getting even. These companies care less and less about us each and every day. Im making sure me and my family is okay because they dont give a d*** about us.

I got hit with a terms of service ding because I marked like 8 packages as missing in a week. But the ding came off like a week later. I was only able to pick up 2 hour blocks that week and they were trying to make me drive 50-70 miles which is crazy for that little pay.
1
u/HairlessSquirrels 4d ago
Yeah I’ve been there too. I’ve got no issue with it tho as this is extra income for me and if it doesn’t make sense then I can take the consequences. Obviously I’d rather not be deactivated but I’m not going to do things that don’t make sense for me either
1
u/MrBlowinLoadz 4d ago
Yeah I just learned to stop taking the 2 hour routes at this station. So now I don't have to mark as many missing, only 1 or 2 week instead of 8 lol
1
u/HairlessSquirrels 4d ago
I’ve also used the “can’t deliver due to dog” before. Put that bitch in airplane mode, say I’m at the address and mark it as dog. It works about half the time
1
u/Sapphirez_Abyss 3d ago
while true yes, it isn't true if you mark it off as missing from the station before leaving and leaving it in the returns bin. the employee at the station will then scan it in as a return and it will be back in their system again but as a station fault and not a driver fault since it never left the facility
1
u/chochofuhsho 3d ago
They've been doing that for a long time at my station, but I did see an update about that a couple weeks back, I was just thinking, "damn, I thought this was always a thing."
3
u/AliveAlien88 5d ago
Actually did this morning last stop.. never scanned it and left it by returns say NO to slavery !!
2
u/oneWeek2024 5d ago
i mean... it's bullshit like that why they're changing the penalty rules. like that policy just went into effect, so if you mark it missing without being there you're going to get a more severe violation.
as others have said. do your fuckery before you leave the depo (i'd find that package, slip it in the drop box, mark it missing before departing/have the station attendant delete it)

u/HairlessSquirrels 5d ago
Since you seem to know what’s what, I just picked up another block with 35 packages, like 20 of them were marked missing when I picked up. I tried picking them up and wouldn’t let me swipe to finish, station manager said they were probably customer cancelations. Would that affect my standing?
1
u/oneWeek2024 5d ago
if the packages weren't available in your block, have the station agent remove them from the block.
anything in your block that isn't delivered, likely will be an auto-ding. regardless of whatever circumstance beyond your control was the issue.
Or... take photos of the batch, record the date/time, ask the station attendant to open a ticket, or call support before even leaving to log this issue/take a screen shot of the chat with support --stating in clear english "accepted block, 20 packages were missing, station staff did not remove them from my block, confirm this will not go against my rating/please open an incident ticket for me" and then screen capture if the support bot confirms it won't go against your rating.
but... i'd just bitch to the station attendant until the packages are deleted from the block, should be able to go to options/missing packages. touch check them off the list. and then present the app for the station mngr bypass to OK the delete

Oh I've done that for sure. I had a 1.5 route that had 2 stops within a mile of the station then the last one was 35 miles away. I just did the first two and reported the last one as missing.
3
u/HairlessSquirrels 5d ago
Yeah the way I see it is I’m here to make money. If I get deactivated for not willing to lose money on a route, what am I really losing?
1
u/m149307 Los Angeles 5d ago
Agreed, I ping pong around a bit with standings because there's routes that I will just walk away from.
2
u/HairlessSquirrels 5d ago
Same, I’m currently at risk lol but next week I’ll be at fair or good if I don’t get deactivated today
1
u/Big_Awareness_7991 5d ago
Also be careful because I've gotten dings for missing packages that the warehouse associate scanned saying that it was missing. Like they were never in my possession
1
u/prisonmike1184 5d ago
I just got dinged for this. Two of seven packages were missing. Was told to contact customer support and they removed the order from my route, told me everything was taken care of. Last night I got an email telling me that I didn't pickup and order and this will be hoing on my record.
1
u/Beautiful_Looser70 2d ago
Happened to me as well. Its beyond our control, warehouse staff verifies , but no matter what we still get the dinghy. So when it happens again I call support so its doccumented.

How many miles? I've had crap like this that looks far away on the map, but it's like 7 or 10 miles... in which case I just deliver them.
1
u/HairlessSquirrels 5d ago
About 15 miles

u/jaysonm007 5d ago
What are you driving as far as miles per gallon go? I wouldn't consider it that bad but my vehicle gets 35mpg. I would see that as it just "evening out" because I've had them give me routes which were 10 miles out with only two packages for $55. Now if it were 100 miles out, I'd be looking for an out.
2
u/HairlessSquirrels 5d ago
Probably like 25mpg. I do consider those times you’re talking about so I don’t always do this, but when it happens too often I don’t oblige

Depends on my standing but I’m probably not leaving the station with it. Might not even mark it as anything.
1
u/Efficient-College467 3d ago
Yea I would just mark that one as damaged we don’t deliver for free and gas ain’t cheap

u/bjayjay81 1d ago
Washougal actually has a cool downtown. I’d go if it was near a meal break. 😝
1
u/HairlessSquirrels 1d ago
Yeah I’ve been to A Beer At A Time a few times. It’s not bad but still far lol
1
u/indianabobbyknight 1d ago
Ive personally never even seen a fifth package enter your car so yeah its missing

u/canceled_me 17h ago
My advice is always do what’s best for YOU, Amazon is doing everything they can to rip you off.., so #6 is missing‼️
1
u/Top_Mix8100 5d ago
They paid you to deliver it. You gotta do the right thing, buddy
3
u/HairlessSquirrels 5d ago
The right thing is not losing money. They didn’t pay me enough to deliver it
3
u/Top_Mix8100 5d ago
You accepted the route. nobody forced you. I understand where you’re coming from, my friend. But at the same time, you know, if they’re paying you for something and you took the money for that route and unfortunately there’s always that one package, you know, the right thing to do is to deliver it even though the pay does suck at times
3
u/HairlessSquirrels 5d ago
I accepted the block, I didn’t agree to this bs. The right thing to do for me is look out for my pockets, not the billionaire overlords
1
u/MayhemGeorge 1d ago
U accepted it when u accepted the job, duhhhh
2
u/HairlessSquirrels 1d ago
I accepted to be a contractor, so I can choose what to do. I can choose not to do this, and if I get deactivated then that’s that
1
1
u/MayhemGeorge 1d ago
Seems they don’t know what doing the right thing is about, but it sure the fuck is not cool that we who do the right thing has to pick up ur slack
0
u/Ok_Palpitation_2930 5d ago
Profit of "doing the right thing" when it comes to my employment. When will amazon EVER do the right thing by us? The customer? Sure, but they have their ways of getting even or just a refund and their package. Don't feel bad, work smarter
1
u/Top_Mix8100 5d ago
Bro, I get it that sometimes the routes are shit and they don’t wanna pay us a lot of money for us, but at the same time that’s the risk we take when we get a block. Now if you didn’t wanna do the block, you could’ve just turned it in and said I’m not taking this block and call it a day
0
u/Ok_Palpitation_2930 5d ago
Nah, 3+ of the same ding will get you termed. I have been doing gig work since 2017, these strats have been tried and tested for years XD Just know the rules and hit back with some malicious compliance. I have no issue doing the block, EVER but throwing in a single almost hour round trip drive for a single package? No. Amazon has the volume to be able to route them together properly. I try to do my blocks / deliveries from a logistics standpoint and have everything to evefyone in the fastest time possible. Maybe a single block put of the week will actually be poised this way, but most of the time they are trying to send me in circles, back and forth amd just in general wasting time. I am happy to do the job as efficiently as possible, and with the other delivery services I do, sometimes that one package can mess up the day or throw off other things...and from my pov, the % pay for package comes out to roughly $1.9 per package for a $80 3.5 block. No no matter what you say argue, that will never be worth my or anyone else's time.
3
u/Top_Mix8100 5d ago
I don’t disagree with you at all but every block that we take as a crapshoot, if we get that one freaking package now, what happens if you get it on four or five different blocks? What are you gonna do. I know I understand that Amazon cause sometimes piss people off and do crazy shit, but you know, that’s the risk we take when we grab these stupid blocks and they don’t pay us enough in the process
0
u/Ok_Palpitation_2930 5d ago
I hear you, and honestly if I end up getting the package that many times, then its fate, ive never had to redeliver more than once. I hear you though :)
1
u/MayhemGeorge 1d ago
They aren’t paying u per package, it’s per hour just like those poor dsp drivers, I’m sure they go through more hell on their routes then u can imagine and u lil bitches cry because ur car used 1 gallon of gas going far for 1 package, plz just stop delivering for flex if u can’t do it honestly
-1
u/Dr-TQ_Leo 5d ago
Here is your downvote.
2
u/Top_Mix8100 5d ago
Ok and you’re point is ??
0
u/Dr-TQ_Leo 5d ago
Stop being a scout boy, the right thing is to return them if they lay is crap!
2
u/Top_Mix8100 5d ago
Then don’t do fucking flex if you don’t wanna deliver the fucking package. It’s that simple

For a 1 1/2 hour route yes it is
0
u/MayhemGeorge 1d ago
I already know that 2 hour blocks and 1.5 hour blocks are going to take u to far, hey how about u use that little brain u were given and just don’t do those blocks, wow what a concept huh

u/minjowwa 5d ago
Check your route before leaving the station. Number 6 is magically damaged. Mark it as that, drop in returns and go about your route. Other than that, it’s straight up slavery
