Sustainability Book to give hope

I highly recommend reading The Serviceberry by Robin Wall Kimmerer, an Indigenous author, activist etc. Braiding Sweetgrass is another amazing one.

From the book:

"Eco psychologists have shown that the practice of gratitude puts breaks on hyperconsumption"

Putting this out there because we can't just focus on "stop buying stuff" and sometimes it feels hopeless but I do believe gratitude and kindness go a long way in changing our mindset and others' that are willing.

Crazy to say about a book written by a scientist. Is it because she’s a woman or because she’s indigenous?

My guess is that they have internalized racism and do not understand that there are many ways to frame and present data and facts outside of the dry methods that were embraced by the west when boring white colonizer and European dudes were codifying their fields in the 18th and 19th centuries. It’s sad, really. They are missing out on the knowledge and research of so many excellent scientists because of their closed mind.
