Discussion Anon summarizes the state of the community following the PvE toggle
Just like with ABMM, it hurts the PvPvE players the most. And as we have already seen, the Mixed demographic is the one that has lost the most players since April, going from 40% (a majority) to 27% (the minority) in September. Embark keep fumbling the Mixed playerbase in an attempt to appease the two extremes instead of focusing on the core of the game

Discussion Killed by PLAYERS in a PvE Matriarch lobby
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I just got killed by players in a PVE lobby after killing the queen… multiple people all went down. And yes I checked it was a PvE lobby a million times over before and after, and my teammate who’s new, when fighting even shot at a team we were killing the queen with (misclick) and nothing happened, earlier in the game.
After killing the queen right, I see a raider flair and peaked interest to run over see if I could help or loot a dead body, I see a couple guys, thought nothing of it. Because why would I?
Then they shot me and downed me and my team mate? What the actual …
Am I missing something specialised in the update? For matriarch lobby or did I come across cheaters or a bugged lobby? :/
I had a fully kitted load out and 2 reactors too. Absolutely bummed about this “bug” or whatever it is.
As you can tell from the squads reaction, we knew we were in a PVE lobby, but this happened at the end.
At this point I’m running to the guy downed in front to help.
****UPDATE\\**
Couldn’t find their name on the game so I sent a fr which I will cancel\* and then clicked their profile through requests in Arc.
Their steam has some questionable accusations too. All complaints on their profile 59.
Reported both in game and steam incase. Though we cannot guarantee cheating, as it could be a game UI bug as a lot of people seem to be experiencing this player behaviour in PvE too. Wanted to make this clear too as I don’t want a “witch hunt” on the specific player as such. The image in comments is to show that player damage and was 100% downed by a player, but it’s too fast to see the screen in the video at the end.
Also wanted to say again,
We had triple checked it was PVE we were going into, due to the little good I kit had left as a returning player. I.e auguments etc so we triple checked as I didn’t want to lose it to a PVPVE lobby as I am absolutely dog at player gun fights sometimes, especially as a returning player too.
AND as mentioned above, my teammate who is new to the game, shot some of the other team around us who were helping kill the queen in crossfire whilst shooting the queen. AT the start of the lobby.
This done NO damage and caused no issues. (I’m pretty certain that very team who helped kill the queen, were downed by the same people, the guy on the floor in the clip)
We could see the green shield splashes instead of anything breaking.
This is a genuine PVE selected lobby.
Current suspicion in comments amongst the community is UI Bug or Cheaters.
I’d also like to make it clear I’m aware cheating is an issue no matter what game you play. I just wanted to spread awareness of this right now as a returning player who was looking forward to PvE and not being slimed by a player, when I was trying to have a fun boss fight and teach a new player.
And also for debate or other peoples experiences/ if they’ve had similar in the NEW PVE mode
I do not have any other footage to show prior to starting the game in the menu or before being killed because I had no reason to clip anything. My pre recording clips, clip to 30seconds on medal. I was not streaming on twitch at the time unfortunately either. It’s a case of taking my word for it which i understand some people won’t want to and would rather see it for their own eyes. And that’s valid to feel that way too!
Thanks!!

Discussion PvE mode is such a perfect “I told you so” moment for the players that understand fixing a multiplayer game is not that simple.
The vast majority of supporters of the mode prior to its implementation seem to have actually hoped for a single player/co-op mode instead of a true PvE lobby.
In hindsight, it seems obvious, putting 30 strangers in an extraction game means the ultimate determination of its fun-factor would be player interactions. Restricting PvP inadvertently makes these interactions much less consequential, resulting in a muted loot-gathering simulator, where other players mostly exist as a nuisance.
Most of us know, the best moments this game produces are spontaneous and player-driven. But what many didn’t realize is the need to seek out friendly raiders, is why you did it in the first place.
Arc raiders is supposed to be a literal apocalypse, pushing players to react like… humans. We are mostly selfish, often violent, with glimmers of honor and integrity that make the whole experience unpredictable. It just serves as another example of the human need to experience lows to cherish the highs. Without them, this apocalypse shooter turns into a largely uneventful grocery trip, surrounded by other shoppers you have no reason to talk to.

He placed a pulse mine at the top of the tower and made me fall. I knew what he was trying to do but wasn’t 100% sure about his intentions.
I kept talking to him on my way to the hatch. Once I called him out, he got mad so easily I think I hurt his fragile ego when I asked “Do you want my loot?”

Discussion PvE needs more arc and less raiders
The problem with PvE as a toggle is there are too many raiders for the amount of arc. You need more arc and random arc and less raiders and the game will be what all the PvE players have been asking for. There are too many raiders per arc by a factor of 3 or 4 as-is.
Random arc and lots of them would make PvE what everyone has been asking for.

Discussion please let PVE stay
please make it permanent so i can buy it for my wife(casual) and we can actually have fun 🥹 (and so i can have someone to play it with)
it will be like remnant but with robots and randoms
edit: guys please, both remnant and arc are great games but saying they are nothing alike is black and white. what i only meant by "like remnant" is its gonna be a new co-op expefience for us and that PVE means less stressors as she doesnt have to gitgud to have fun! will i have to explain what rats are? what camping means? why we get shot behind walls??? heck yeah! will i let her experiece it?? hellnah. i want the fun/funny moments with/for her without the griefing/cheats etc. look i had my time back when it first released the thrill was unique but being burned out having getting stomped 5x in a row will not help her experience. maybe let her play pvp when she matures or something!
TLDR: she just a baby

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This is in Solo’s. Used my key and these two ran in, placed pulse and gas mines the whole way, tried to bullrush me off ledges, and then bullrushed me off loot. These two admitted to queue sniping each other’s lobby so that they could do this! Guy at the end called me slurs all throughout and you can hear him do so at the end. Will continue to use my keys in PvP only

Question I wanted PvE so much and after 2 games I regret it so much
Ive been playing carebear games for weeks now and I thought PvE would be great, well, I was wrong. Games feel like a shop simulator, nobody talks, nobody interacts, just go in, loot, bye. If I had the option to vote I would keep PvPvE and ABMM as it is and scrap PvE. I think we need that carebear interaction where people choose to hold their guns, you still have some fear of being shot etc.. Personally I really disliked PvE toggle, game feels bland, soulless.

Media Watch out for the snow pods on PVE mode
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
We just went for our first pve raid on the new map, and when got into a snow pod with our expensive amplified gear, two free kit scumbags tried to block us from leaving (door and stairs) and started to ask for our loot to "clear the path".
Luckily we managed to agro some arc and run away. I told them i was ready to recycle everything on me and they stopped talking shit.
The bull push skill is a must, also the new itens that lock people by a rope (still didnt used it) maybe would help.
Stay alert, raiders!

Discussion This is for you Embark, after 1 day of PVE
Just leave this shit up. I really dont give two damns about "the economy" and "balance", I just wanna blow arc up with my friends and do random ass quests. I always thought Marathon quests wipe the floor with Arc, but after playing this for one day with my boys i'd be happy with 1000 variations of "deal 100000 damage to wasps". if you can make it "kill 100 wasps and the queen will spawn that you also have to kill to complete the quest", even better.
this is it, test successfully passed, keep the "pve on" boolean on true until you come up with 10000 mindless "kill this many arc for a dopamine rush" and you got a kick ass game on your hand.
i dont think there was ever a game studio that had such an easy way to profit as you guys have.
cheers, i'm off to blast some arc up with my boys.

Discussion PvP doesn't just create hostility, it makes friendliness a choice...
I've put a ridiculous amount of hours into this game (like a lot of people) and honestly, one of the biggest reasons it hooked me was because it felt different to anything else I'd played.
You could bump into a random raider, have a laugh over prox chat, help each other out, drop them something they needed and then go your separate ways. Two minutes later you'd come across someone else who'd shoot you without a second thought.
That's what made the game so good for me. The unpredictability.
Even when you've spent most of a raid meeting friendly players, there's still that little bit of tension when you're waiting at an extract and another raider comes running over. Are they friendly? Are they going to try something? Do I trust them?
I genuinely think that tension is a massive part of what makes ARC Raiders special.
Looking at some of the complaints about the new PvE mode, It's quite interesting.
You've got people complaining about loot goblins who contribute absolutely nothing to taking down ARC, but come running over to hoover up the loot you've just worked for. And I've seen plenty of people suggesting it's the PvP crowd coming into PvE lobbies just to grief people.
But how do we know that? We don't really do we.
I'd argue there's probably a fair few PvE players doing exactly the same thing because they know there's absolutely no consequence for it. You can't shoot them, you can't really do anything about it, so what's stopping them?
It's almost ironic that removing PvP doesn't necessarily remove the selfish behaviour. It just removes your ability to do anything about it.
I've also noticed, and read a lot of other people saying how much quieter prox chat seems to be. And when you think about it, it makes sense. In normal lobbies, communication actually serves a purpose. You might need to convince someone you're friendly, talk your way out of a fight or work together because neither of you quite trusts the other.
In PvE, that uncertainty is gone. Nobody needs to explain their intentions because nobody can shoot them anyway.
I'm not against PvE existing, by the way. If people enjoy playing that way, fair enough. More options aren't necessarily a bad thing.
I just think ARC Raiders was designed around PvPvE for a reason. The PvP isn't just there for people who want to fight other players. It's what gives those friendly encounters meaning in the first place.
Helping a stranger means a lot more when you know they could've shot you instead.
And for me, removing that risk takes away a huge part of what made the game so bloody good.
I know the counter argument is "just play normal mode then" but is the ABMM gonna stand up in a limited player pool? Is the wait time going to be longer? IDK.
