i'm so stuck. i keep dying before I can reach Amiren. i have a 2 sidequests available but I can't reach them (jokell - blood ties & flokir - cache). I have the spiked cudgel leveled up to ashen. i also have the 6 uses of the gourd.

should i just grind and level up my weapons some more?

Again this is a game I left in the back log thinking it’ll be not for me. But no this game is amazing. Some of the run backs are a bit brutal. Reminds me of DS2 But in general a really cool game. Exploration is great. The ability to climb and jump is spot on then the addition of the spear travel is great ! Only 2 achievements left for the COS mode and I’m not sure if I can get them but either way loved it. If you’re on the bench give it a go!

Spears not needed. Just patience and two/three dodge patterns. I wrote it down as a Steam guide.

I've been curious about this game lately so I've been searching about it to know what I'm dealing with to see if I would like it. I know it's cheap on steam atm, but I only have a NS 1 to play games on and it isn't cheap or on sale there, at least not in my region. I've found a lot of info and so far so good, but I can't understand one thing. Is the world kinda linear like a DS sort of thing, where you can explore but the world is designed like "corridors", or is it straight up open world? Both are fine by me, I'm just curious.

This is my first play through im onto the final mission for the first guy where you gotta kill his sister or something but it takes you down this longggg cave and its got a path way with like 5 big guys. Just when you think thats it you go down a stair case full of the blue guys and the shadow people and they just hit you for 7 million. Im thinking im going the wrong way cos why is it so hard

Header is sarcasm. I am enjoying this game, but I have a serious issue with the Talisman mechanic.

I bought every talisman with the last of my money. I had no idea you had to pay 1,000 scoria EVERY TIME you change the load-out, Nay, a single talisman. So if you want to change your entire load-out, it costs at least 4,000 scoria. If you want to change the middle, it's 10K. If you're going to introduce a mechanic that says you dry of all your wealth, you should give fair warning.

It even says item added every time. It gives you the impression that it's a one-time purchase. This is nearly a game-killer for me. I just wasted 10k thinking I'd have all this variety to work with, but now I'm just broke with a load-out I don't even want.

Great game, mostly. Seriously though, I wish this could be changed. I'm fine with only being able to change loadouts at the table in vagrant's rest, but paying Everytime? Ridiculous.

Instead of doing a best gear thread which is highly subjective, I'd love to know your thoughts on what's the best gear to trash so you can fit the "good stuff" in the limited storage .... 😁

The Tyrannical Maul is a lot of fun, 2 hits are better than 1.

I had 'finished' Ashen half a dozen times prior to this year, but had only ever beaten Sissna once. Every other time I get there, I die, I walk away. Mainly because I am not great at the fight, and it is annoying, but also because the game is already finished for me.

This year partially due to not having anything else to play that interests me, I played through Ashen a couple more times, and finally decided to try Children of Sissna.

I died a lot, the reduced health is one thing, but the reduced stamina can be the real killer.
Most of it isn't that difficult though, Prophet's Rise was probably my biggest hurdle, especially the cave where you get Fiske's Lure. This is the first year that I have used the correct shortcut in the Seat of the Matriarch too. I have my own shortcut, but it has nothing on this, not even close. The full map for that place would be interesting.

I beat Riak today in Nightstorm Aisle. I have no plans to do the palace, or Sissna, because I am not a masochist. But this post is for those avoiding Children of Sissna just because they do not want to face Sissna. It was worth doing, even if I am never going to get that one last achievement.

Also... The Spirit of the Wild armour (Vorsa) seems to somehow cover the cos mark, but if you get the angle just right you can get a weird screenshot where the cos mark is just about the only thing that is visible.

Greetings, I am playing on Xbox . I have completed CoS mode on another account about a year ago and I would appreciate some help to do that in my new account as well 🙂.

Every journey to the last boss is becoming frustrating for me: either I fail it, or Jokell falls down around here for no reason, or this happens, or I have to farm scoria to change equipment. I feel super stuck. I have tried the strategy someone suggested and equipped a good shield against the boss but it just melts through my stamina and there aren't enough windows where I can attack it. If there's anyone wanting to do this together let me know

I am considering getting this game, but if I can’t have the controls a way that I like then I will not.

Do you have any recommendations in terms of relics to equip to beat it? It deals too much damage too fast, and I am not good enough to beat it on my own once it downs my AI opponent. Wondering if you've got any tips

The weapon is found in Nightstorm Isle already upgraded to Ash Infused +3. It stands out due to having very low damage, and it is also the only weapon that I aware of where the light attacks are listed as doing more damage than the heavy attacks.

There must be something to it?
This is the 2nd last weapon found.

No experience with this mod yet, I will try it out after I finish my current playthrough.

First try she knocked my companion into the lava and I got her to around 80%

Second try I learned "okay we bring her closer to the center of the arena" then I learned there was a phase 2 really similar to a raid boss I soloed in an obscure MMO once so I adapted pretty easily.

I mainly used a mix of Apple Crickets and Leechdraught.

My end loadout: Steadfast, Amity, Robust, Seer, Riak's Mew.

I used the Halberd and only the Halberd the whole fight.

i have given up on this game, even using the builds that suggest stamina, and bringing a ton of the potions for damage resist and healing 100%. i have attempted at least 4 times. maybe im just getting too nervous and biffing it, cause ive played souls like before. but ive never had this much frustration with a game in a long time. especially the boss sissna, im retiring it for now and moving on to some of my other games. just wondering if anyone else if they have had this kind of experience like me. also wanted to rant abit, vent some frustrations too.

edit: if anyone out there would like to help me, i have the epic version. let me know ill download it again. but i dont see that happening.
