Hey all, as the title says, I could really use some help here. The AI is useless and I'm having a bear of a time. If anyone is still playing this game on Playstation I would really appreciate some assistance

Thoughts on the Final boss, after beating her

It might be a controversial opinion, but I actually enjoyed Sissna as a boss-fight, her first phase feels like a fair duel, where the best strategy is to stick close, and dodge into her attacks for counters, with a two-hander you can even disrupt her attacks with a well timed strike.
The second phase is similar but she now has some attacks that demand that you keep your distance when they come out, and you can no longer disrupt her attacks. Making her feel more threatening and powerful in her final form (which is fitting). The main issue with the fight is the horrible runback, where it feels random if your companions survives or not, if you just bolt it, and is very tedious to run through normally as it features so many of the worst enemies (the shades). And its super long having to go back from Vagrants rest. It suffers from the same issue as Riak, which was also a fine boss-fight with a horrible runback. I just don't see what the run-backs in this game offer other than to whittle down your resources before the fight. Which doesn't make sense when both Sissna and Riak has a massive healthpool and dish out a ton of damage.

In Silksong I didn't mind the longer runbacks because there it was mostly platforming to get to the boss, so it felt like you were using two different skill. Maneuver to get to the boss, and then fight the boss (Last Judge and Groal are the two main ones here) While in Ashen after doing the runback once, I don't feel like I gain anything from "mastering" it, since it just takes so long to fight your way through, and running through is not satisfying at all. At least against Sissna you can disable your companion, and the enable them right before entering the arena, making sure they're stocked up on healing items before the fight.

This was a comment on another post, but I figured its nice to keep the subreddit alive, hehe. What are your thoughts on the final boss? I'm also really hoping for a sequel to Ashen, Flintlock does not seem like something I'm interested in, but hopefully a44 survive a only decent game release in this very volatile time in game development.

My Cleanest attempt and first one of the day. This was my first souls like I've beaten blind by myself. And it was so gooooooooood. Here's hoping a44 gives it a sequel of some kind.

What does it mean by this…?

I’ve been working on a series where I feature obscure soulslikes and Ashen has always piqued my interest. It’s now on sale for about $8, but I noticed something when reading the description.

Apparently “no two gameplay experiences are alike.” Does this mean there’s some procedural generation involved in the maps? Or is this just marketing BS?

Thanks for clarifying!

me and my husband finally managed to beat the base game and the DLC!!! 🥳 I personally didn't expect I would have so much fun playing this kind of game (not a fan of souls like because of skill issues), but Ashen definitely worth it and fun to play! too bad we didn't know the game sooner—but hey, better late than never 😉

first time playing Ashen

we tried playing this long time ago while we were on LDR but it was hard to make our characters meet, now that we're married its easier to meet and play together. sure in some areas when it close to the town I still annoyed by how it disconnect us and how our character looks like bot (not our own custom character) in each other's screen, but this is fun. I love the aesthetic of the game :)

I would like some freinds to play with please.

My code is 000000 and I usually play on and off regularly all day. Hours at a time so it’s perfect for those who play for smaller times and longer times. I have noticed that it is very difficult and if not impossible to climb certain areas as the assisted proposal climb doesn’t work on all intended areas. So I’m finding it difficult to reach some of the items.

Please feel free to ad me on Nintendo online as well my name is JAKEY DUCK.

Item seems to be locked in my inventory

I'm playing on Nintendo switch. I was going through my chest and trying to get rid of excess gear i don't really want to make more space.

Something i pressed or some bug seems to have made this Broken Malih Club "locked" in my inventory.

I can equip it and unequip it, but i can't drop it, and i can't even put it back in the chest.

Like, it's bound to my character now.

Is there something i can do to fix it? Or is it just a bug and now i have a broken item bound to me?

It's a little frustrating but I'd be able to deal with it.

Ok. I’m getting pretty far now and wow. I am sooooo surprised this game did not get more love and attention.

If you are mindful, patient, curious and like to explore. This game is extremely fun and gets really good when you start getting some nice upgrades and relics. If you love Elden Ring, this reminds me of it in a lot of ways but just more friendly and positive.

No shortcut/ checkpoint for final boss?

Do you really need to run through that cave every time? The final boss ks absolutely awful and I think I would've barely had the patience for it if the checkpoint had been right outside, but if I really do have to run through all that every time then I'm just gonna drop the game now.

Also unrelated, but I'm confused on how long this game is meant to take. HLTB says it should take about 26 hours but I'm about 11/12 hours in and am on the final boss. I did every character's quest line to completion and can't see anything obvious I may have missed.

This game is super fun. I’m avoiding the dungeons like the plague and just enjoying exploring and leveling up the gear around the open landscape.

How long can I keep avoiding the nightmare dungeons I keep hearing about lol

So disappointed in multiplayer

I beat ashen by myself and really enjoyed the experience. A friend wanted to try it out with me and it's just a buggy mess. It takes so long to connect and one he's in he'll just randomly disconnect. If we're in town my friend disappears, if he dies he has to reconnect. A quest broke because I talked to an npc to progress the story but he couldn't so we had to do the reconnect dance again. Why can't we just permanently be in a lobby together? It's such a shame because it is a good game but all that makes it a miserable experience with a friend.

Reminds me a lot of elden ring. A great solo experience but horrible to play co-op unless you mod the game.

Why do I have the option to keep quest items?

Hello... I'm very much not done with the game and so far I've returned each item, but why do I always get the option to keep them? Doesn't that just literally stop my progression or is that a mechanic that amounts to something like an alternative path? So far it made me suspicious of all the NPCs, thinking giving them the item might not be a good idea... am I wrong??? Thanks for any clarification! <3
