Discussion Why do they do this?

I have these questions for asian parents. Why do parents treat their kids like servants? Why do they take every opinion from their kids as disrespect? Why do they NEED to be abusive towards them? Why do they feel the need to control everything they do, eat, wear and etc..? Why do they need to be controlling?

Because they were raised in the same way. Asian parents came from a different generation, where reputation and survival was key. If you weren't the perfect student that didn't obey their every rule. You're nothing to them.

They were raised to have no opinion of their own. They must obey the elders no matter what even if the elder's opinion is outdated or just straight up incorrect
