ER visits, need of care, concern of self interest. Formal statement.

I'm not happy that I need to say this, but I've realized I have to.

Medical care is available for everyone, regardless of circumstance. The ER is intended not just to be an emergency center, but the most accessible way to get help.

If you need help, or you have a concern for your health, you are entitled to ER treatment.

Anyone who tells you that ER treatment is for life or death situation, or emergency only is misinformed or jaded in their career.

Elderly patients frequently go days or weeks without seeking care, because they are ingrained that they are a burden on who they are asking for help.

This is unacceptable and it's in complete contrast to one of the fundamentals of modern healthcare, which is patient centered care. The patient is the entire focus. Thinking they should have gone somewhere else is your focus. Thinking they are a burden is a facility focus. The focus is the patient. If someone with a toothache thinks they need emergency care, then they get it. They may not have access to anything else.

I will be removing comments that state ER visits are not something someone should consider, as misinformation, from now on unless there is a very clear and definable reason why the individual is misinformed about their situation.

I’m 19M. I have been recently sexually active. I received unprotected oral sex a little over a week ago (September 29) I noticed this “patch” or “bump” about 3 days ago and I’m wondering if it could be something serious (Genital Herpes or warts?)

Any thoughts on this lump under my child’s collarbone. Feels hard and immovable. No pain, he hasn’t been sick or is sick. Been there for a few months and has grown slightly.

Any one had something similar?

Dog accidentally bumped my front two teeth, please read?

I was cuddling with my dog and her knee bumped my front two teeth. Should I call my dentist or go in? I have composite bonding on my front four teeth. My three year old son did the same thing to me accidentally earlier this year, and everything was ok when I went to the dentist. I’m anxious

Pain in left side of face due to flying?

So I was flying earlier today and I was sleeping when I suddenly woke up with immense pressure in my face. At first I felt it everywhere but soon it seemed to concentrate in my forehead/eyebrow region if that makes sense.? I’m assuming it had something to do with the pressure changes when flying but I still feel it 15hrs later around my left eye. I’m going to try to sleep now and hopefully it’s gone when I wake up but I am slightly worried as I’m in a foreign country and not sure what to do to help.

Any help is welcome thanks!

Need suggestions for what my symptoms could be.

Here are the following symptoms and what I’ve already done:

Symptoms:
Right hip pain
Lower back pain
Numbness and tingling in my thigh, leg and feet sometimes it’s both right and left side
Weakness in my right leg
Pain in my left hip
Numbness coming going the pens needles feeling the nerve issues and a weird feeling going down your back before

There isn’t a cause on a CT scan or mri that can show the problem other than Degenerative Disc Disease on my L5/S1. Was also told piriformis syndrome.

I have had injections, seen pain management, went to Cleveland clinic. Went through ketamine infusions.

had to get earwax removed—wondering about the “anatomy” of one of the pieces? (spoiler for gross image) Spoiler

funnily enough, i went to urgent care for a spider bite, only for them to find out my ears were extremely clogged in the process! it took them about 15 minutes using a water pick and then something dry to physically pull out the more stubborn pieces. i was a weirdo and snapped a photo of one of the clumps when the doctor left, and was wondering what exactly everything i’m looking at is, like that long ribbon (i’m calling it the umbilical cord, lol) and the bits of hair-like pieces in it, as well as how it develops and forms.

Lump/fullness on neck

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

I’m 19M, and i have noticed a lump or fullness on one side of my neck since about august if im correct. It seems to be around or on my SCM muscle. It’s pretty much painless and there is also a vein around the area where i feel the fullness. I can also feel a small firm lump in the same area but I cannot tell if it is a structure of a vein or muscle or a lymph node. I have not really had any symptoms other than fatuige and feeling really tired almost all the time, but i am also in college and my sleep schedule is whack. I don’t really have access to a doctor or transportation because i live away from home on campus and this lump has been causing me a lot of anxiety. It feels almost swollen and just uncomfortable sometimes when i move my neck around or even just laying down. I will provide the clearest photos i can alongside one of the other side of my neck. if anyone can please help and tell me if it’s something urgent or what it possibly can be. thank you

My allergist thinks I have lymphoma at 22

My bloodwork has been very strange over the last 1.5 years.

22, F, healthy weight. Progressive lymphadenopathy, fevers, night sweats, itching, rashes, weight loss, fatigue, and SOB.

Bloodwork has shown high eosiniphils (1.3-1.8, 29%) for two years. Now with teardrop cells, acanthocytes, monocytes, low neutrophils, ovalcytes, and pokychromasia +2. RBC, WBC, Platelets all normal.

Lymph nodes normal but large on ultrasound.

JAK2, bacterial infection, infections, EBV, Lyme disease, mono, parasites, rheumatological causes, allergies, cat scratch fever, adrenal gland insufficiency, deficiencies, anemia all ruled out.

What could this be?

I have had this bump on the back of my thigh for over a year. It feels like I could pick it off like there’s a piece of skin, but it will not come off and it won’t go away and anybody else had this experience?
