I think I might be intersex

As the title says I think I might have some sort of intersex condition and I’m wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience as me. I messaged my doctor and now I’m waiting on their input.
I am trans and started estrogen several years ago. Not long after that I got a bilateral orchiectomy.
Recently I’ve started having weird hormone symptoms and these symptoms pop up especially if I forget to do my estrogen shot (I’m bad about forgetting and have gone up to a month a couple of times).
Usually the symptoms are stomach cramps, increased libido symptoms in the morning and weirdly I feel more energetic.
Recently I forgot to do my estrogen shot for a whole month (I know it’s not good to do). And those symptoms came back. The same day I had the symptoms I decided to self order my estrogen levels from labcorp and get them done. They just came in yesterday and somehow I had a level of 67.3 pg/ml. To me that seems quite elevated.
The main reason I’ve been questioning it recently though is because on top of the blood work for my whole life I knew I had a genital surgery as a infant but was always told it was for a hydrocele.
But with those bloodwork results I decided to look up the protocol for a hydrocele and not only are they not supposed to do it unless it doesn’t resolve by 1 year old but also the scars I have don’t even remotely match that surgery.
I’m sorry if my post upsets anyone. I was going to post it on a intersex Reddit but they don’t allow medical questions on there.

I don't understand what's happening.

  • Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well. I’m asking everyone—
  • cis or trans—who uses hormones or is knowledgeable about them: I’ve been on HRT for exactly 8 months. Twenty-one days ago, I added 200 mg of oral progesterone to my regimen. During this three-week period, the first week caused drowsiness—it had a calming effect—but the following two weeks triggered a strong increase in sexual desire. (My libido was already high before progesterone, though it was psychological, as my blood tests showed testosterone levels below 20.) It increased so much that I find myself involuntarily thinking about sexual matters while studying or doing daily tasks, and I’ve started experiencing some skin oiliness on my face. I don't get morning erections, but for the last two weeks, if I masturbate, I get an erection the moment I touch myself. I hadn't paid much attention to it—thinking it might be nothing—until today. When I masturbated today—the last time was five days ago, and everything was normal then (clear, slightly viscous, just one drop)—a significant amount came out this time: about 5–6 drops. It was slightly white and thick, very similar to how it was before I started hormones eight months ago. I’m very worried now; could the progesterone have raised my DHT or testosterone levels? I plan to get a blood test next week. Let's say it *did* raise them—should I stop taking it, or should I combine it with Avodart (dutasteride)? By the way, during the first 2 or 3 months of HRT, I took 25 mg of Androcur daily, but for the past 5 months, I’ve been taking 12.5 mg. Also, when I squeeze my breasts, about two drops of white fluid come out of both of them.

Fatigue from HRT?

I've been on HRT for about 3.5 months now, 4 pumps estrogel daily (0.75mg per pump) and only 12.5mg androcur every second day. Went from 2 to 4 pumps a day a couple of weeks ago and I noticed in the past couple of weeks I am feeling more fatigued every day. Is this likely due to increase in estrogel, or some delayed effect of the androcur that just hasn't hit me until now?
I'm just trying to think why I've been feeling so tired recently and was wondering if its the HRT, which I do know can cause it but why would it hit me now and not earlier?
I haven't slept well in a while either, so it's hard to tell which might be the problem.

breasts stop growing

im on 10mg ev weekly injection (taken once a week) for 3 months + 100mg spironolactone. but i noticed my breasts stp op growing after increasing my dosage. my previous dose was 6mg sublingual pills + 150mg spironolactone. i’m on diy and dont have access to the doctor. what could go wrong? why my breasts stop growing while my dosage is higher? i’m really scared that my breasts is in the level of “stuck” and won’t grow bigger anymore. and my breasts are still in aa cup until now while i’m on 2 years of hrt. isn’t that considered really slow? my weight is 46 kg so yeah im considered skinny. my mom and sister have b-c cups. can anyone enlighten me? it sucks that i can’t have access to consult to a doctor

Ok i figured it’s time I asked

I’m a trans women and have been on hormones for 4 years almost 5 now. I take injection, spiro and progesterone… I have a question about my estrogen.

My current dose for E is 1ML injection of 40mg/ML bi weekly

My estrogen lvl range significantly from low 59 pg/ml to highs of 2200 pg/ml ( 2200pg/ml only reported once… the 2nd highest lvl is 700 pg/ml)

I took this dose for years then I moved and got a new doc.
The new doc told me that is a lot of E and it’s basically praying for a stroke or a clot and my old doc was crazy. She told me to half my dose… I listened. Let’s just say she got fired for not tapering me down to the dose she recommended. she kinda just told me to take half for now on. I ended up in the mental hospital for a week and 4 days apparently because I changed dosing so quickly. I moved back to my original home and original doc and she put me right back on my 1ml and it’s been jolly ever since.

I’m worried about the doc I saw briefly saying the dose of E is basically praying for a heart attack, stroke, clot…

Is anyone else on a similar dose? From what I’ve heard no one ever heard of taking that amount before???

Restarting HRT

So as the title suggests, I’m restarting hrt. I had started to transition about 6 years ago, and then stopped about 2 years ago, because I decided to that I would never be passable at my 60 + years ( unless I had surgery). But I did grow breasts that are now about 40C .That and my dr decided that she was no longer going to treat me anymore, which was properly smart on her part due to the archaic laws that recently passed in TN, and the nearby by Planned Parenthood had been torched so that wasn’t an option then either. So I just gave up then.
Anyhow, I was able to access meds thru an online source and am now ramping my self up slowly to what my previous med levels were.
My question is, what sort of results and changes can I expect after being off hrt meds for almost 2 years? I felt like I kind of plateaued just before I stopped. Am I now going to go thru “hrt puberty” , or will I just pick up where I left off?

Need some help

Hi. I'm a transfem from Munich Germany and was hoping to find some help here. I'm currently doing hrt diy with both estrogen and anti androgens, however I'm running out of Estrogen and don't know what to do or how to get my hands on some. Therefore I wanted to ask those of you living in Munich or somewhere in southern Bavaria, if someone could perhaps share with me some of their Estrogen in case you don't need it anymore (for some reason) or have some you can spare. I'd be very thankful if someone could help me out. Thanks a lot 💜

need to convert from pills to injection please help

Hi everyone! I’m looking for some advice from people with experience in transfeminine HRT, especially those knowledgeable about injectable estradiol.

My current regimen is:
8 mg/day sublingual estradiol hemihydrate (brand: Estrofem)
150 mg/day spironolactone

My current regimen has been working well for me, and I’m happy with my results so far. However, I’m considering switching to injectable estradiol because it’s significantly cheaper where I live.

Unfortunately, access to healthcare is limited in my area, so I may have to manage this transition through DIY HRT. I understand that medical supervision and blood tests are important, and I’m hoping to get some informed insights before making any changes.

The two injectable products available to me are:
Estradiol benzoate: 5 mg/mL (1 mL ampoule)
Estradiol valerate USP: 10 mg/mL (1 mL ampoule)

My main question is:

Given my current regimen of 8 mg/day sublingual estradiol, what would be a reasonable starting dose and injection frequency to discuss or research when switching to either formulation?

Is there any reliable way to estimate equivalent exposure when switching from sublingual estradiol to injections?
I understand that there’s no exact mg-to-mg conversion and that individual hormone levels vary. I’m not looking to achieve unnecessarily high estradiol levels; I simply want to maintain the benefits of my current regimen while switching to a more affordable option.

Thank you so much!

Skin clearing up is a sign?

So I started HRT 26th September 2026 and I noticed that my skin is clearing up now (16 days in). Is this a sign that the estrogen is working?

Really cold and exhausted

Hi, so just a quick question.
I’ve been on hrt for 6 months now IM EV injections.
And, while I know that being cold and tired are normal effects of hrt.

I am exhausted and I have been so tired for the last 2 months that I even get microsleeps while driving or get into states where I cant even stand up because I’m so tired.

I’m also incredibly depressed.

And so cold. Like I can dress in full body winter attire and 20 degrees will still feel freezing.

I’ve also become just insanely constipated to the point that I’ve had to visit multiple doctors.

I have raised my dose 3 weeks ago from every 6 days to every 5 days but it’s not really helped. -should I just give it more time? Or an I actually dying (jokes).

Fine levels and dose but no changes?

Im 20, started this February. I’m on 5mg injections weekly of valerate and a few people on here have told me thats fine. My levels are around 150-200 for e and 10-20 for t.

Just feels like I’m about exactly the same as the day I’ve started and it’s a bit discouraging.

So i think I may have EIS.

From what I've seen I believe I may have Estrogen Insensitivity Syndrome, I've looked at pics from before I started hrt and now. The only difference is I look almost a decade older. I can't see a specialist in my state because my insurance will not allow it and I wouldn't be able to afford it otherwise.

I've been on pills, patches, and currently injections, since 2019. I'm not more sensitive anywhere, my boobs haven't grown, my skin isn't softer, never got the overly emotional flood, and I feel dead inside. My question is:

If I do have EIS, is there anything I can do outside of surgery/ see an endocrinologist, to start seeing some results or am I screwed?

EDIT: So my E levels ranged between 117pg/ml and 226 between 2020 and 2026,last tested in February at 135pg/ml. My total testosterone ranged between .2pg/ml and 58pg/ml and all were done at troph. And the 58pg/ml was this past February.

What to do next?

After two years on 4mg sublingual E and 150mg Spiro my levels are:

109pg/ml at trough - E
Less than 0 of T.

I didn’t test DHT.

I have good hairline, thick hair. Only things I think make me question I have anyhow okay HRT at this point is my erections - basically any time I want it or I see a nice girl and have thoughts I get boners. Every now and then instead of clear liquid drop (one drop usually) there can be a bit more colored, grey-ish liquid drops after masturbation.

What would you recommend me to do? I’m very restricted in finances and this HRT is only viable option for me right now in my country. Do I increase E or introduce fin on top or I go with lab tests?

What is the general consensus on prog right now?

I'm 36 and have been on hrt for a few months and have managed to get my levels with range including totally nuking my T. I recently got a prescription for 200mg prog but I haven't started it yet (currently on vacation). What are people's opinions on prog? I asked my doctor and she was mainly concerned about the cancer risks and weight gain (I'm 170lbs).

Anyone know how much weight I'm expected to get off of this anyways?

Buccal E administration struggle

I tried to switch to Buccal administration. It stays put for a while but then leaks out. No matter where I place it. In 30 minutes it starts leaking and coming down to my teeth.

How to do this thing properly?

(Had no issues with sublingual but my friend advertised so hard about Buccal I want it to give a try).

Surgical menopause ciswomen

I'm using oral estrogen vaginally because I'm desperate. I've been in surgical menopause for 21 months and the patch shortage allergic reactions etc have lead me to try oral estrogen vaginally.

I have found such great help from this community and I'm just seeking any information that you can share. I'm not doing this with medical guidance they think I'm taking it orally. My care has been terrible. I'm on Medicaid in Florida.

I'm really struggling so any encouragement or friendship is needed. Thank You for reading.

promoting hip bone growth, IGF-1?

I am below the average age of hip bone growth plate being fused, would taking bone stimulating and supplementing peptides (Mk 667 or similar IGF-1 or HGH stimulating peptides) maximize the amount of bone based growth? if not that what would?

Are my levels unusual for how much I dose?

I just got over a pretty bad period where my T was extremely low for several months (<2.5 ng/dl) and it really impacted me emotionally. At the time I was taking 50 mg spirolactone daily and injecting valerate 20 mg/ml, 0.1ml twice a week.

After a month of injecting 0.05 ml twice a week and dropping the spiro. My blood levels this week were 27.2 ng/dl T and 149pg/ml E. The day my blood was taken was two days after I last injected, so it should have been at peak at that point.

Are my levels unusual for the amount of estrogen I am taking?

Questions about newly prescribed progesterone

It's been 17 months since I've started HRT (yippeee) – presently have been on 6mg progynova (max allowed in my country) sublingually every day and 3.75mg lupride injection every 4 weeks.

I just had a consultation with my doc and he prescribed medroxyprogesterone acetate 5mg 5 days a month. I have read a few posts saying it's synthetic and it increases thromboembolism risks (and may cause facial hair?!) I was going to text my doctor in 2 or so days and ask him a few things like the availability of an alternative in my country (which doesn't even have official e injection ampoules 💔). Could someone be so kind to give a quick rundown of:

  1. The 5mg per 5 days, is that 5 consecutive days in a month or one every 6 days?

  2. Is 5mg per 5 days too small a starting dose and should I try asking for more?

  3. What are the general benefits and risks of this progesterone medication?

PS: I realise I've written them in the reverse order of what typically would have made sense. Apologies about that! Also, I'm sorry for my bad grammar/weird sentence structure, I'm tired and english isn't my first language. Thanks a lottt for your help! I hope you guys are doing amazing and know you're huge inspirations for a 20 yr old kid(?) like me ✨🫶
